Luhan Through The Years

I found this on Tumblr  someone asked her about Luhan's past faults. I was moved by her answer. maybe her answer was not 100% truth but she has proofs and such so I believed her. I am so proud of him.. I made the right decision to pick him as my bias. He is such a kind man and I hope he won't change for the next years while he is an idol. I will support him whatever happens because he is so pure and a talented rookie. reall he has amazing voice live especially when he sang Open Arms...

Luhan honestly was a really nice person (not much different from he is now) predebut; not one of his classmates or old friends had anything bad to say about his character. The people who knew him when he was still a kid said he was a really good boy, soft-spoken and very well behaved (…but then I guess childhood isn’t what matters to you is it LOL).

When he reached his teenage years, he became more outgoing, but was still the kind person he always was. Any time his ex-classmates and friends mentioned him, common points they would all mention were how humble, generous and loyal he was. He was the 校草 (most popular/best looking guy in school) but he never let that get to his head, and he hung out with his classmates like normal, taking walks with them around the school yard. When someone needed a hand, he was always willing to help. That’s one reason people liked him so much, including his teachers (even though he wasn’t a teacher’s pet or a straight A student at all). In fact, once he and his mom had a fight and he came to school without his lunch money, all his friends pooled together all the change they had and when they were short a bit, their teacher (teacher Bai! If you remember her from their first Sina interview haha) also pitched in, so they could buy him lunch c: The reason for that is pretty simple — he’s always doing the same for them.

But I guess that’s one thing that’s one thing? When he was a teenager because of his family’s refusal to accept/recognize his dreams (not that they do now…lol) he went through a bit of a rebellious phase. But then again I might as well just say he was once a teenager.

A lot of girls liked him, but again, it didn’t get to his head at all. He always took pictures with them whenever they asked, and read their letters from beginning to end. One girl in particular who confessed to him wrote about how he listened to her ramble until the end looking her in the eyes (I imagine that it would’ve been similar to this). He hung out with the girls as friends a lot too, they ate pizza together and fangirl(boy)-ed over TVXQ together (yes at one point the in girl’s bathroom so they wouldn’t get caught LMAO because it’s a lot more acceptable for a guy to go into a girl’s bathroom than the other way around).

Luhan was really good at soccer and every time he played in a match, a lot of people came to watch him c: The only time he was competitive was probably on the soccer field (so that’s the only place he really made “enemies”, if you want to put it that way), other times people say he’s really easy-going about everything. Unless you really step over the line, he won’t mind at all. If you mess up and get in trouble, he won’t hesitate to cover up for you. When he chatted online he used the same slang and joked in the same boyish way most boys do (he had quite a good sense of humor, actually!)

Some Chinese fans think that one ‘weird’ thing about him was that he also knew and hung out with a few gay/biual people too (which is considered you know…weird in China) and I’m not sure how you feel about that, but personally I don’t think of it was ‘weird’ at all; I’m glad he’s able to stay open-minded in a…not-so open-minded society.

He was also really passionate about singing and dancing, even though he wasn’t able to enroll in an arts school or take proper lessons because of family reasons, he always performed whenever he could at school festivals/competitions c: His friends from junior high said that even back then, singing and dancing was already his dream. Because of his personality and the way he treats people, he makes friends very easily, and many people are still in contact with him even after they’ve been apart for so many years. And even if they aren’t, all it took was seeing him once for all the memories and feelings to come back, like with this person, for example.

When it comes girls and relationships, like I said a lot of girls liked him and passed him love letters, but he really liked only one girl (who unfortunately did not reciprocate his feelings) for around 3 years. When he became a trainee and I’m guessing she was with her boyfriend and nothing had progressed between the two of them, he left a message in his Cyworld, something like “I’m giving up on you, WQY; maybe in the next lifetime.” I don’t know if you’d consider that as something negative but when he likes you, he’s /really/ likes you.

People who knew him always said Luhan was really caring, if there was ever a friend who was upset or had something on their mind, he would be the first one to notice. If someone was ever stuck in an awkward situation and needed someone to give them a step to step down from so to speak, Luhan would always be that person as long as he’s around. But I guess this part is pretty clear if you follow him post-debut \O/

Later he left for Korea to pursue his dreams, and was scouted pretty quickly by SM in 08 (though did not become a trainee until 2010), he shared that with his old friends right away and everyone was really happy for him c: But just because he became a potential SM trainee and was studying in Korea didn’t mean that he forgot his roots or who he was at all. After the Sichuan earthquake in 08, he left the following message on his Cyworld:

It translates into:

A Call For Love!

Premier Wen once said:

A small problem, multiplied by 1.3 billion, becomes a very big problem.

A large sum, divided by 1.3 billion, becomes a very small amount.

Now we have to say:

A little bit of kindness, multiplied by 1.3 billion, becomes a sea of love!

A huge problem, divided by 1.3 billion, will become an insignificant matter!!

Let this be something we yell out as we carry out our earthquake relief work!

When you’re reaching out a helping hand to the people in the disaster zone, please  tell all your friends this too! We’ll fight together!

Call this cheesy or whatever but it really touched me. This isn’t the type of thing many teenage boys/young men would say or write anymore, especially not those who are studying and living overseas.

During his wait to become a trainee, a lot of unpleasant things happened. He wrote on his Cyworld once something like “When you’ve been waiting for too long, you begin to forget the reason you’re waiting.” and “I…didn’t know society was like this.” He’s been exposed to a lot of unkind things and people, but he didn’t let that affect him. Look at his eyes now, and you’ll see a pure soul. Pure not because he’s an innocent child who doesn’t know anything, but pure because he knows everything, yet chooses to stay true to himself.

Even when Kai’s first teaser was released, Luhan quickly shared it on his RenRen (like the Chinese facebook) and told everyone to give their support! His friends who left comments below were so confused, like “this isn’t you is it?” “who’s this?” At a time when competition should have been tough, he went and promoted another member’s teaser to his friends, but did not share his own. And even now, that doesn’t change. He doesn’t try to get himself in the spotlight, but is always pushing others to the center or pulling them to the front as he stays at the side, clapping and smiling and enjoying being an audience member.

After his debut, after ‘fame’, he did not change. When he returned to Beijing, he met up with a few old friends right away, then spent the rest of the time wandering around in the streets like a normal boy next door on a lazy afternoon. His friends later said that after seeing him as an idol, they don’t feel like he’s changed at all. He’s still the same kind, caring, ordinary boy he was before, except now he carries the faint “glow” of a celebrity.

And it’s true, he’s exactly the same. Whenever they’re in China, he would take on the role ofa translator himself, whispering the correct words to the Korean members around him. Even though his makes for many…interesting shots, let’s not forget what he’s really doing c: He can play around with the other members like a kid, but when they need him, he’s always the first one, sometimes even only one, there for them. When Tao needed a shoulder to rest on at the airport, he was there. When Lay was injured and everyone was in a hurry to leave after rehearsal, he was there. When Kyungsoo was pushed to the back, he was there. When Xiumin was lagging behind, he was there. When Kai was trying to make his way through thecrowd of fans, he was there. He never thinks about what he can do for himself first, but rather what he can do for others. When it was hectic at the airport, even though he himself had almost fallen outside just earlier, he put both arms around Yixing to protect his waist, which had been injured before. I could go on forever, but I think I’ve already gone off course enough. Point is, he is someone who gives, without looking for anything in return. When he’s nice to you, that’s really all it is. Past or present.

This boy might not be the best ‘idol’ right now. He’s still awkward in front of the camera. He wants to make his fans happy but doesn’t quite know what to say; all he knows how to say is ‘thank you’, that he will ‘work harder’, to ‘show them an even better stage’, and he means every word. You might not find him the cutest, the funniest, the best looking, he might not even be someone you pay attention to at all. And that’s okay. But if you ever do think of him, please remember what a kind soul he has, because that won’t ever change. Even if he makes mistakes in the future, even if some things don’t go the way we want to, please don’t forget that. And if you are a Luhan fan, let’s all stay by his side, so that many years down the road when he’s no longer a shy, awkward rookie, when he’s standing at the top, we can say, “I was there. I watched him grow, I was with him the whole way, and I’m proud of him.”

Wow. 3 years. I think Lu Han has a crush on seohyun. And SeoHyun doesn't show any interest at all. I hope Lu Han won't be too sad :/
