            Jae Joon may be an organized person, the man with the plan, but he certainly doesn't rely much on either of these characteristics. Rather, he seems to know things intuitively, without being able to pin-point why, and without detailed knowledge of the subject at hand. He is usually right, though, and he usually knows it. Consequently, Jae Joon puts a tremendous amount of faith in his instincts and intuition. This intuition also applies to people, as he has an uncanny sight into others and situations. He gets "feelings" about things, and although he couldn't explain it in words he just seems to know what it means. He can't verbalize these feelings, and is often scoffed at because of it. Consequently, Jae Joon is very protective of his inner self, sharing only what he chooses to share when he chooses to share it. He is a deep, complicated individual who is quite private and difficult to understand. He always seems to be holding back a part of himself, and can be very secretive.

           But Jae Joon is as genuinely warm as he is complex. Jae Joon holds a special place in his heart for the people close to him, and can become quite attached to people. He is a natural nurturer, and tends to take on a "motherly" role when in a group. He is patient, devoted, and protective, and tries his best to take care of others. He is concernced for the feelings of others, and tries to be gentle to avoid hurting anyone. He is very sensitive to conflict, and cannot tolerate it very well. Situations that are charged with conflict will sometimes drive Jae Joon- a normally peaceful guy- to agitation or charged anger. He all tends to internalize the conflict, and any stress he is feeling will turn into actual health problems. This makes it relatively easy for others to recognize when he is having problems.

           Because Jae Joon has such strong intuitive capabilities, he trusts his own instinct above all else. This results in stubborness and a tendency to ignore other people's opinions. He believes that he is always right. On the other hand, Jae Joon is a perfectionist who doubts he is living up to his full potential. Jae Joon is rarely completely at peace with himself- there's always something else he should be doing to improve himself.            His father- Adrien Lavine- was a French-born Canadian high school student who seemed to have nothing but his looks going for him. His mother- Bae Jin Hee- was a Korean exchange student who happened to be attending the same school as Adrien. The two were perhaps the unlikeliest couple you could find, being a trouble maker musician and quiet studious girl, but they got along all the same and ended up becoming high school sweet hearts. They had a long distance relationship for several years- as Jin Hee eventually had to return to South Korea- until Adrien was finally able to move to South Korea and the two were married.

           When their first child came along- a daughter- the married couple had their first big fight. What would they name her? Adrien wanted to give their baby girl a French name, reminicent of his homeland, but Jin Hee wanted her to have a Korean name. The two bickered about it right up until the little girl was born, and then had to eventually settle on giving her two names. Her legal name- Bae Jin Su- and a French name- Isabelle Lavine. This settled the problem, and made naming their second child- who came two years later- much easier.

           On a cold February morning in 1994, Jaelin Lavine- or Bae Jae Joon- was born. In his younger years, the hardest problem Jaelin had to face was learning how to talk. His father didn't speak Korean, and his mother didn't speak French, so the language spoken at home was English, something they both knew. However, Korean is the official language of South Korea- of course-,  so along with learning to speak in English, Jaelin had to learn his mother's native language. His father also insisted on teaching him French, wanting him to stay in touch with that half of his roots. In his neighborhood, Jaelin and his older sister Isabelle- who had to learn three languages as well- were quite the hot topic, especially among the olders folks, as the children babbled in three different languages.

           At school, too, Jaelin found himself naturally falling into the position of teachers pet because of the assumption that, since he spoke three languages, he must be smart. Unfortunately this wasn't exactly true, and Jaelin found that the high expectations at school made it difficult for him to do well. This pressure- and a desire to see the country his father was from- eventually drove Jaelin to convinving his parents to let him attend a Canadian school in Montreal.  Isabelle, too, joined Jaelin at the behest of their parents, who didn't want to send the baby of the family all by himself. This was about the time the nickname J-Baby developed, as Isabelle teased Jaelin about behind the youngest.

           This wasn't the only defining thing about this point in Jaelin's life, however. The same year he began middle school, Big Bang- the South Korean boy band- made their debut. He became instantly interested in the group and followed them closely despite now living on the other side of the planet. Although he had never shown much interest in music before, Jaelin was quickly beginning to steer his future towards a career in the music world. He started learning various instruments, taking dance lessons, singing at school talent shows; anything that could get him closer to being on stage. Two years later, U-Kiss debuted and Jaelin knew for sure that he wanted to become a Kpop star. After all, if Kevin and Eli- two complete foreigners- could make it, then why couldn't he?

           His mother was supportive of this decision, especially since this would mean that Jaelin would return home, but his father was apprehensive about his son's decision. Jaelin was only fourteen at the time, after all, and becoming a trainee seemed a big step for such a little kid. It was obvious that Jaelin loved music, though, and eventually his father gave Jaelin permission to audition. Thus Jaelin Lavine returned to being Bae Jae Joon, the kid who now spoke with a slight French accent and had become a trainee under TS Entertainment.

           • Big Bang: he is a major fanboy, and owns all of their albums. His favorite member is G-Dragon, and Jae Joon hopes to collaborate with him in the future.

           • U-Kiss: his second favorite group, especially because there are a few foreign members. They were the group that inspired him to  get into Kpop.

           • Secret: they are in the same company, so of course Jae Joon says that they're his favorite girl group. Also, their latest song- Poison- is extremely y. Jae Joon is convinced there isn't a guy on this planet who wouldn't like it.

           • Fashion: both his father and older sister are models, so it was only natural for Jae Joon to develop an affinity for fashion. Although he doesn't actively pursue the latest trends (pretty much impossible, considering they're changing every ten seconds) he does try and stay mostly in fashion and has a considerably sized closet.

           • Hockey: His father is a big fan of hockey, and made sure that Jae Joon attended a few games while he was going to school in Canada. Jae Joon instantly fell in love with the sport and would play street hockey with the other students.

           • Maple Syrup: Canada= Best Maple Syrup on the Planet. Jae Joon absolutely loves maple syrup, and always makes sure to stock up with a couple dozen bottles every time he visits Canada.

           • Mild weather: not too hot, not too cold. Just a pleasant mid-ground.

           • Large dogs: he finds them unnerving. Even the friendliest of dogs will still keep Jae Joon a good couple feet away.

           • Little kids: Jae Joon is the youngest in his family, so he never had to learn how to deal with younger siblings. Consequently, he gets nervous and doesn't trust himself around them (although when forced to deal with little kids he ususally does well with them).

           • Heart-to-hearts: he hates opening up about himself.

           • Basketball: he tried playing when he was younger, but was absolutely horrid at it. Jae Joon is convinced he has brain damage because he would always stand underneath the hoop and get hit in he head by the ball.

He likes joking around and goofing off, and can get restless when he has to sit still or be serious for too long. He is very understanding and compassionate of others, and is the type to quickly forgive others after they have apologized. || part of the same company || Their relationship is complicated. Jae Joon is older, so Zelo treats him like a hyung, but Zelo debuted earlier, so Jae Joon treats him like a sunbae. They're so busy trying to be properly respectful to the other that they often end up just being awkward around each other.

He definitely knows how to have fun, and how to have the people around him have fun as well, but he never seems to know when to stop. In small doses Aron is a fun, optimistic, outgoing guy who is great to be around, but if you're exposed to him for too long then he might drive you up the wall. || classmates back in Canada || They were occasionally referred to as Dumb and Dumber, but only because Aron can be an idiot and Jae Joon was "stupid" enough to follow him along on his escapades. She can sometimes be a bit of a handful when her seemingly limitless energy gets the best of her, but her sweet and generous nature makes it easy to forgive her. She is very clear and straightforward about her thoughts, and has no trouble communicating with others. She is also a good listener, and is usually quick to pick up on things. || he was backstage at a music show, supporting Zelo and B.A.P, and happened to bump into Eunji. trainee life; Readjusting to Korean life was a bit troublesome for Jae Joon, but after the first few months he was back in the swing of things. He never really stood up among the other trainees as anything special, but has been consistantly strong throughout all four years of training. He isn't the best, but that isn't always what the company is looking for.

He genuinely treats the fans like his best friends, and is the type to sneak a few photos with them at airports or whatever when the managers aren't looking.
