Why the do so many people get this wrong?

During the past two weeks I was told Luhan is both a surname and a first name four times. Not to mention two of them also argued that Xi is not a Chinese surname.

WHAT THE

This has not only been argued to me directly either. As you have noticed, this topic has been drifting around and steadily increasing as more people continue to question the matter.

Please spare a moment for a short lesson regarding Chinese names.

Firstly, not all Chinese first names are one character. In fact, the majority of Chinese first names are two character. Similar to how the majority of Korean first names have two syllables.

Secondly, Luhan is a two character first name. 鹿 "lù" being the Chinese character for deer, and 晗 "hán" meaning bright and lightness. Hence why the name 鹿晗 means bright deer.

Now do you all understand why Sehun calls him Xiaolu? "Xiao" meaning small or little and "lu" meaning deer, hence "little deer". If you wonder how I know this fact refer to his message on EXO-K's SINA interview on September 18 of this year. http://youtube.com/watch?v=jLOI7M7Uix8

Finally we have Luhan's surname, Xi. Is it really his surname? We do not know for it still has not been confirmed yet, but Xi is still a legitimate Chinese Surname. Like how Korean surnames have one syllable, the majority of Chinese Surinamese have only one character. Probably why many of you decide to assume "Lu" is a surname instead of educating yourselves in his name.
