Dalbit is quite a successful duo group in South Korea, achieving their rise to fame with their 2009 hit Go Again. Once known as an acoustic group, they've ventured from borderline rock to melodic power ballads to almost punk rnb - Dalbit has tried almost everything and through it, the two members have become as close as family { 5+ years does that to you }. onstage personality: 

"Sumgyeo  do twinkle eojjeona?" | Woonbyeol is a little bit of a background character, though she is the voice of Dalbit, she takes the role of the mysterious vocalist with the golden voice, leaving Taeyang to be the funny variety guy of the duo. She isn't very noticeable because her image is that of a silent sweetheart. She's not awkward when it comes to variety shows actually, but she hardly ever talks. LOEN had left all of that to Taeyang. However - just because she does not talk often does not mean she doesn't have a lot of fans. Admittedly, sixty percent of Dalbit's fans are thanks to Taeyang's wacky antics, but the rest are there for the ever so sweet and innocent Woonbyeol. No one really doubts that it takes both Taeyang and Woonbyeol to achieve Dalbit's fame status. 

"Nae maeryoge ppajyo." | The thing with Woonbyeol though, is that no matter if she doesn't talk a whole lot, whenever she does is completely unforgettable. Her charm point is that she shines brighter by the day. The more you see her, the more you can't get enough of her. Sort of like a... bolmae type of character; a person who gets more charming by the day. Since Woonbyeol is more of the mysterious, secretive type of person, a lot of people generally want to know more. It's sort of a reverse psychology kind of thing with LOEN.

offstage personality: 

"Karyeot-jiman wen-manhan nochulboda yahan yeoja." | Shinwoon and Woonbyeol are not all too different, at least, not as much as Taeyang exaggerates it is. If there is one thing LOEN had kept with Shinwoon's true nature is her naivety. Despite her age, Shinwoon hasn't at all gotten over her childhood - nor has she forgotten to bring the innocence attached along with it. Perhaps it's because she isn't a native of Seoul, and doesn't completely understand why these Seoulites do what they do, but Shinwoon is definitely a girl who is about as naive as it can get. She's easily fascinated by the smallest stuff and definitely gets giddy when things go her way - a childish innocence that attracts a lot of attention, especially from guys who have a sort of "oppa complex". She's seriously so gullible though that it kind of hurts you physically when you try tricking her. The worst part about it is that she never minds at all. Shinwoon does get upset, but after a little while of thinking, she'll be laughing at how funny it actually is. It's easy for Shinwoon to forgive and forget, it just takes a bit of time.

"Jeongsu-khae boijiman nol ttaen noneun yeoja." | Despite being seriously easy going and laid back, and a little conservative and innocent, Shinwoon is still a girl from Busan, and as a Busan native, she's definitely a fighter when the need calls for it. Shinwoon is prideful, and even somewhat stubborn to a fault. Once she sets her mind that "no, it's not my fauly. Why should I bow down?" you could be screwed - nah, just kidding, but Shinwoon can be quite stubborn when she wants. Perhaps it's part of her child-like nature, but no one really knows - not like anyone can properly read her, not even Taeyang who has been with her for over five years. Shinwoon isn't the most aggressive person out there, but dare push her buttons the wrong way, and - well, it's not like she gives up so easily. Just be prepared to be at wits ends with her.

"Keureon gamkakjeo-gin yeoja." | Although it seems her child-like nature is her primary personality, Shinwoon can be mature as well - and ironically, it is when people least expect it. She's a sensible girl, truly, and perhaps it's also because she's - as much as she won't admit it - a bit of an 'older sister' type of character. Though she's realistic when it comes to real life situations and is definitely someone you could go to when you're in trouble, there is a little side of her that remains quite idealistic. 

"Kureon banjeon i-nneun yeoja." | The only thing quite different about Woonbyeol and Shinwoon is that Shinwoon talks a whole lot more, and it is partly the reason why LOEN has her do the whole "quiet little sister image." As much as she has been living in Seoul, she's still what one would consider a country bumpkin because - well, she is one. She's a girl who proudly hails from Busan and is definitely not afraid to show the colours of her hometown. Shinwoon bears a lot of contradictions with Woonbyeol as a whole, but perhaps that is the charm point of Jeon Shinwoon as well...?

"Iroda michyeoga borilji molla." | Shinwoon is the type of girl who - when she falls - falls hard. She's the type to be head over heels in love and it is evident in what she does. Though she's very hard to get, any guy who works hard to gain her affections will surely be rewarded. Shinwoon's over-giving nature tends to show the most when she is in love - she gives it her all and tends to be disappointed easily. However, Shinwoon can't actually confidently say she has been in love as she has never had a boyfriend { all of her lyrics were based on crushes and what she has seen in movies } so even she doesn't know her own limit when it comes to sacrificing for the one she loves.

"Jakku gobina sarangi nan musowo." | The one thing Shinwoon dreams of, and will never tell anyone else, is to meet her prince and fall in love like the movies. Because of her realistic side, she knows it's a bit foolish and more than childish to even think of it, but Shinwoon has always been called foolish anyway - so what is there to worry? The only thing really stopping her is herself. Because as much as Shinwoon wants to fall in love and live happily ever after, she's scared that "love" might not be as magical as she had hoped for. She's scared that perhaps, the spark will never come to her and the feet popping upwards when you kiss will never happen, and everything she dreams ever known will end up becoming a lie. But she keeps on dreaming, she keeps on believing, because it's really the only thing she can do.

background: 

before the star rises | Shinwoon was an ordinary country bumpkin hailing from the province of Busan. Born as the only child of childhood sweethearts Jeon Jinsoong and Park Ye Jin, Shinwoon was certainly not the common kid with two very different parents. Shinwoon was very close to her mother as they had always been the only ones in the household, her father was almost never home because of his job. She had always been quite fond of music, especially when her mother constantly supported her decisions to join competitions and such. Her father was quite wary, but let her go as soon as he saw how happy it made her. Shinwoon had started auditioning since she was 12, and managed to get in LOEN around two years later. Two years of training after that, she made her debut with a guy named Jo Moon Ki with the duo Dalbit.

  • Father | Jeon Jinsoong | 48 | Soldier | Jinsoong is quite the serious guy, and was originally very displeased with Shinwoon's decision to undergo training. Nonetheless, he's quite proud of her and though he doesn't usually show it, he loves little girl very much. He's just really afraid of what might happen to his precious daughter. 
  • Mother | Park Ye Jin | 49 | Former photographer/journalist ; manager at a local restaurant | Unlike her husband, Ye Jin is all about the risks and the thrills of life. She's a rather eccentric woman, who never wants any dull moments. She's quite close with Shinwoon and is always there to support her little girl.

But when it comes down to it, he's probably one of the sweetest guys ever - if he ever makes an effort to be so anyway.

Get off the phone." | Lee Jieun { IU } | 19 | Singer + Actress | IU is the nation's sweetheart, and has every right to own that title. She's sweet, lovely, and absolutely adorable - she's almost the complete package and its kind of intimidating but at the same time awe-striking to know that.

  • Sunggyu ; "Yah, yah, yah - what's with that look, huh?" | Sunggyu - how to properly describe Kim Sunggyu? For starters, he's sort of a perfectionist, and a scary one at that. He nags a lot, especially to those he cares about but will never admit that he does. Nope. He's way too manly and cool for that, yes. Most people would call him quite scary, especially the maknae of INFINITE because he glares a lot and complains ten times more, but those who know him well actually call him pretty cute and quite the sweetheart. He's just the type of person who wouldn't like it when the person he likes is struggling because of anything, and he'd do all he could to help. Sunggyu is basically the representative character for "tough on the outside, sweet like mallows on the inside."
  • Dongjun ; "Is it because I still call you noona that's why you won't look at me?" | Dongjun is a cross between an adorably cute maknae and a fiercely y young man. A Busan man through and through, no one really doubts he has the charisma needed in order to fit both images and still come of as a manly guy. He changes so easily from one thing to the other it's kind of scary and you don't really know which is the real thing. The dangerous thing is that he knows it. Dongjun is a bit of a show-off, and has a lot of confidence in a whole lot of things, not that he shouldn't have - Dongjun is the type of guy who has the complete package: looks, smarts, and talents. Dongjun exudes the aura of perfection, though he's probably just too confident for his own good, but it does actually cover up a lot of his flaws. 
  • Zico ; "Noona, I'm not a baby. Don't treat me like one, okay?" | The typical wannabe bad- that every group of friends should have. Zico is basically a kid hiding inside a grown man's body. He likes to act all tough and manly, and comes off as cocky and rude because of it, but really he simply wants to prove himself to the world. Though he always loves exuding a cool, chic, and complex image, his natural childishness and cheeky nature simply comes out whenever he's with friends. Zico is the type to be smooth with the ladies - or at least he tries to be. Those who know him well enough know deep down that he's simply fooling himself and is generally just trying to look good. His Block B brothers especially know him well enough to know of the dork underneath all that badass genius thing going on. 

ideal type of partner: 

Shinwoon is secretly a hopeless romantic, thus, her ideal type is very - ... superficial? Unrealistic? Whatever - but really, Shinwoon is looking for the perfect Prince Charming. He needs to be someone who's sweet - but only to her - and he absolutely cannot like any other girl. Shinwoon wants a guy who only has eyes for her. He has to be someone who likes music, because she loves what she does and she wants him to love the things she does as well. He needs to be possessive, but not obsessive. Any girl would love it if her man would be jealous of someone else because of her, she argues. But Shinwoon also adds that becoming a stalker wouldn't be a big turn on for her for she also holds big on privacy.

He needs to be able to fight for her - because her dad is a soldier, Shinwoon has always held the thought of someone being able to protect the person they love as very heartwarming. He doesn't need to necessarily inflict physical violence onto every little thing that she dislikes or something, but just knowing that they are willing to fight for her is enough. Though she dislikes spoiled people who always gets what they want, she does want to be pampered a teeny bit by her perfect man. Her heart flutters whenever someone would give her a spontaneous gift { preferrably couple items because she absolutely adores them } but they don't have to shower her with gifts. Giving her one on her birthday is definitely enough.

what you don't like in a partner: 

Shinwoon honestly isn't very picky if you don't meet up to her standards. Despite her oddly detailed ideal type, Shinwoon believes that the person who she will fall in love with will be her ideal type. She doesn't really mind if you're a little on the short side, or if you don't really like music - so long as you love her for her then she doesn't mind at all. However, there are some little things that annoy her...

She doesn't like it when the guy is a coward. If he won't fight for their love, then what is he worth? Just thinking of a guy who won't tell her his real feelings because he's afraid makes her feel a little degraded about herself. She hates liars and concealing the truth from her is as good as lying. She also dislikes guys who don't value certain dates - { i.e. her birthday, their 100th day, their anniversary, Valentines, etc. }, she gets that sometimes people forget certain stuff, but she finds it absolutely irritating if you always forget it. It makes her feel kind of... worthless and that is a big no-no. 

All in all - if you get down to it - if he doesn't value her, then that seriously pisses her off. Say goodbye to the relationship, and hello to sappy heartbreak lyrics.
