Teen Top No More Perfume On You
I was never a fan of Teen Top when they debuted into the industry with Clap. They were probably one of the few rookie groups that debuted before there was a wave of new rookie debuts. But I just didn't like them.
I downloaded their Clap MV for the sheer fun of it but I couldn't bring myself to listen to the whole song without cringing my body. It was that bad.
I watched it because of After School Lizzy, and even then, she didn't get a lot of parts.
Still, It wasn't until they came out with Supa Luv at the beginning of this year did I finally see their talent and did I finally start listening to Clap without cringe, but instead, I started beating to the song and singing along.
Their Supa Luv MV was cool too, just very techno.
So I began to start wishing that Teen Top makes a second comeback this year like all the other artists (Block B, MBLAQ just to name a few).
And then, without me realising, they had announced another comeback with their first mini album called Roman.
Nonetheless, I was SUPER excited. I knew that they were going to do well.
Their teasers made me go physco (in a good way ofc xD).
They made their comeback while I didn't have enough time on the internet (now) so I haven't heard their other songs except their title song No More Perfume On You since it's my rule that I don't listen to songs that are put into videos which is pretty much a slide show. Don't like them.
Regardless, their MV was AWESOME.
It's hard to not get stuck to their song. Honestly.
Chunji was the main character in this whole MV and honestly, it made me love him more. Except my bias changed with this MV (except that's not the point I'm trying to make or anything so I'm going to shut up about my bias in Teen Top).
The actress they chose to use - as in the girl that Chunji is in a second relationship with - is probably a decade older than Chunji or at least twice his age but I feel like they chose a really good actress. I love her. She's so pretty~ If you guys haven't seen the K-Drama My Girl, I HIGHLY recommend it.
The song is so nice.
The way they started the song with a unified "Oh~" with Niel's voice being heard more just makes you're heart feeling that it wan'ts the song to hurry up into the actual lyrics.
Niel's voice is truly, the best. It's so smooth and sweet during his parts. When Chunji takes over, he slowly uses what Niel has passed on to him and then creates his own flavour into the song. It goes back and forth between the two vocalists until it finally hits the chorus which makes you're heart bounce to the beat.
Despite Ricky and Changjo not haven't as much parts in this song as in their previous song, Supa Luv, their part in the song can't be missed either with their voice that doesn't meld with Niel and Chunji's but melds within each other. It's obvious when they change the vocal.
And I was especially proud of the rapping parts in this song.
Mainly because, well, L.Joe finally got the singing partshe deserves.
He rapped twice as much as he did in Supa Luv and Clap together. Actually, he didn't get ANY parts in Clap if I recall. I didn't even know his NAME until I realised that all the Teen Top fan's were HIS fans. Isn't that sad.
But finally, this song did him major justice and I can see where his charisma comes from.
Although I have to say, C.A.P made the biggest different to me.
I felt like his rapping is getting better and better and I'm starting to fall for him.
Funny how I love pretty much all the leaders in the groups.
Seungho / Cheondong from MBLAQ
Junhyung / Doojoon from B2ST
Onew from SHINee
Donghyun from Boyfriend
C.A.P / Chunji from Teen Top.
Interesting huh?
Still, Teen Top is doing so well. I think it's about time that they gain more fans. Every group has one album that changes their fate. SHINee's was Lucifer. Super Junior's was Sorry Sorry. B2ST's was Fiction and Fact. MBLAQ's was Stay / Mona Lisa.
I have a feeling that this song is Teen Top's changing song.
TEEN TOP HWAITING <3
