Personality: Kei is... interesting. She is the artistic type, and can often be found sketching or painting. She thinks... ALOT; and the things she thinks about aren't like school or things like that but more like ideas and people and concepts, such as the meaning of life, why people are the way they are, etc. She daydreams all the time, and you will often find her staring out a window, thinking or daydreaming. She isn't quiet, but she also isn't loud and crazy. She's good at keeping calm, but around her close friends and sibling, especially her brother, she becomes playful and carefree, often hitting or pulling her brother around. She lives alone in Korea because all her family is back in Japan. She is studying Korean, but doesn't like it all that much. She can be prettyyy random. Often, she ends up speaking her thoughts outloud without realizing it, so people get confused. One of Kei's best strengths is with handling others and keeping the peace. She also is the type to keep things real, and often goes out of her way to snap people out of it if they are becoming too full of themselves or such. She believes that the worse thing a person can do is try to change themselves or other people. She is usually the best at remaining calm, but if pissed or annoyed BEWARE because she becomes SCARY. She is extremely strong and quick because she used to do kendo, and usually won.

Family Story: Kei was born in Hong Kong and lived there until she turned 8 which is when she moved to Yokohama, Japan to be with her father's relatives. Her mother is half Chinese, half Korean, while her father is Japanese. Her parents own a small tea house where they are the only people working there. Her father was a former kendo instructer. Her family had no issue with her as a kenkyuusei for AKB and as a news caster, but were devastated when they heard she was scouted by SM because that meant she would have to move to Korea.

Family members: mother (Shiraishi Sakuya), father (Shiraishi Tatsuya), and other family members still back in Japan.

Older Brother (20): Shiraishi Takeru

Takeru is a loving and caring brother, but can be overprotective and worries CONSTANTLY about Kei, not because he thinks she can't manage on her own, but just because that's his personality. He calls her literally every day and has to hear about every little thing she does. Even if he can be a pain, its that extreme brotherly personality that is what she loves most about him. Even if they live apart, they're still the best of friends. Takeru can be strict and stern, but it's only because he loves her. He as the most upset and against her going to Korea, but only because he is concerned about her not being near him. He is talented at kendo and at swordsmanship and currently works as a stuntman for dramas and movies, though people have tried to cast him as an actor before.

Older Sister (22): Shiraishi Mako

Mako, like Takeru, is caring and loving, but unlike him, she is much more laid back. She worries about Kei, but she doesn't feel the need to voice all her worries, because she knows when Kei can handle a problem on her own. She and Kei talk on the phone about once a week, or whenever Kei has problems that she needs to have girl talks about. Mako is the BEST at giving advice, and often (humorously) delves into the value of love and relationships and whatnot. She was the least worried about Kei going to Korea, and believes it to be a good opportunity. Mako is the quintessential older sister. She currently works as a barista at a cafe.

  • the K-Pop industry (she doesn't hate K-Pop, just the way the industry works. it makes her miss being part of AKB)

  • People who dress tastelessly, not like lazy as in they wear baggy jeans or shorts, but when people wear stuff like full outits in a single NEON color and look like highlighters.

How were you discovered?: Kei was a kenkyuusei (research student) for the jpop girl group AKB48. She had not been chosen to become a member by the time she was 17, which was much older than the others, and decided that it was about time that she graduated. She had already talked it over with Aki-P, and while he was saddened by her decision, felt that it might be for the best. He told her that she should continue on working under him though, to which she agreed. It was at her graduation ceremony, that she performed a vocal solo and this was broadcasted. An SM scout saw her and decided to scout her. She at first declined, because she did not want to leave Japan, but instead stay and help Aki-P as AKB's vocal trainer and also continuing her job as a broadcaster for NHK, but in the end, she could no refuse. She still keeps in contact with her friends there. When she can, she goes back and helps Aki-P out with AKB, in particular, the kenkyuusei.

When and How did you meet?: I was sketching in a park while he was playing guitar. He came over and told me he liked my drawing and I asked him if he wanted it. He said yeah, and then told me next time, he'd have a song for me. From then on they would chill together at the park, Sunggyu playing guitar and singing, while Kei would sketch or paint.

what is Love for you: Kei still doesn't understand love very well. She just knows that it is something one feels deep in his or her core. And from observing others, it is something that makes people do stupid or extreme things.
