Personality:

My personality is actually a lot more complicated than you would honestly think. First thing is that I’m a very emotional person. Well, I’m more emotional when I’m angry or sad. I just can’t seem to get those two emotions under control. When I am yelled at, I tend to feel angry & sad, tears form in my eyes and I try to hold them back but they usually manage to fall. I have a real short temper. It’s a bit difficult for me to control so when I get angry, I look as if I’m about to explode but I’ll calm down with some ice cream or a lollipop. I also take my anger out in singing loud American music or boxing.

I’m really sensitive to bullying, especially towards people with large statures. I used to be like that, until I lost lots of weight. I will always stand up for those that are bullied because of their appearance. Not everyone can be perfect; I know that and so should everyone else. It irritates me when people can judge so easily; what if they were in the other person’s shoes? Would they honestly like it if they were picked on for their size? It’s just so blood boiling!

I’m really a quiet and kind person. I love to help people in need as it feels fulfilling. I get shy around the male population aside from my big brothers and my friends, SeHun and TaeMin & my cousins WooHyun and BooHyun. I feel intimidated by them easily and I stutter and usually make a fool of myself. It gets on my nerves how awkward I am around boys. They always seem to feel comfortable around me the moment we meet because they use a lot of skin ship with me.

On that note of me being awkward, I also get that way when I get praised and congratulated. It’s not that I don’t like I, I mean, the fact that people acknowledge my talent, but again, I get sheepish about these types of things. I’m just not comfortable with them. It’s kinda obvious that I get nervous a lot, neh? I think I get that from my mother.

On a less harsh note, I’m usually a girl with a smile on my face. I’m always smiling because there really shouldn’t be things to be excessively sad and depressed about. I also get extremely attached to the people that I hang out with often. I seem independent in some situations, but I always need people there to help guide me and set me in the right direction. I’m the type of girl that always looks for the good in people, even if they are a bit cruel or distant.

I may look classy but I like to have fun too! I love playing video games and little jokes on my friends. It shows everyone I’m not a stuck up brat because my, I guess, “elegant” style makes people think I’m super rich. I honestly don’t understand why people think that way. It bugs me as well. Anyway, pranks; just the usual whip cream in the hand and tickling the nose in their sleep or whoopee cushion.

Along the idea of me being classy, I’m sort of naïve. I listen to other a little too easily, even though it may be for a good deed. For example, if you ask me to get you something, I’ll do it; if you want me to clean up the room, I will. It’s not necessarily a bad thing, but some people have the thought to take advantage of me.

Background:

I was born on July 19^th 1994 in Seoul. I was a chubby baby; eating all the time, being a lazy baby and just sleeping throughout the day, 24 hours a day, 7 days a weeks. I grew up in a loving family of 5; my appa, umma, and my two oppas, JongWoon and JongJin. I also have a few cousin that I see more than often; BooHyun and WooHyun. I was babied a lot because I, literally, couldn’t do much. My baby fat kept me from crawling around and moving. I hadn’t learned how to walk until a year or two later.

About a year later, our (immediate) family moved to Cheonan. I was still a fat baby that was carried by my family whenever we went anywhere. I clung onto my oldest brother the most though. I learned how to walk later than most normal children but not by much. My legs were still very chunky, but as time went on, I was slimming down as a baby, at least.

In 1999, I was about 5, and JongWoon joined a singing competition. I was so happy when our family found out that he won the gold. Sure, I didn’t know what was really happening, but when my family is happy, of course I’ll be happy too. This same year, I went to the park with my umma. JongWoon oppa is almost 10 years older than me, so around this time he would have been about 14, 15 years old. JongJin oppa was about 11, or 12; possibly 13.

Anyway, we were at the park and I was still a chubby girl. I was on the jungle gym, climbing to my heart’s content. The moment I climbed down, I heard whimpering. Wondering who it was, I walked over to the swings and saw a boy holding his knee in pain and freaking out. I walked to him and saw that his knee was bleeding; I bet he was shocked at the blood. I asked him if he was okay, for good measure and he just pointed to his bleeding knee.

Fortunately, for him, my umma made me carry a fanny-pack everywhere because I fell quite a bit due to my clumsiness. I pulled out a wet nap and a band-aid. I told him it was going to sting just a wee bit and wipe up the scar gently. I heard him wince but I just ignored it and stuck the band-aid on. I shyly looked up at him and smiled, saying, ‘All better now, neh?’ He smiled and nodded. I bowed then started to walk away when he yelled for me to wait. I turned back and he was trying not to hurt himself as he got up. I saw him wince and he came up to me, ‘My name’s SeHun. You wanna play with me?’

I gave a small smile and said, ‘Okay. I’m JaeKyung!’ That day, the two of us had become great friends. Heck, we still are! SeHun and I will always be the best of friends. He and I are as close as I am with my brothers! He’s always there for me, vice versa and we can always count on each other.

Then, about 2 years later, so when I was 7 years old, JongWoon got signed into SM Entertainment’s Starlight Casting System by umma. I was happy when he got the letter that signed him to be a trainee, even though I was only a kid. I didn’t get to see him much after that. He was always ‘training’, whatever that was.

During JongWoon oppa’s leave, we had told him that we were going to move to Incheon. It was at like, 2002 now and we had just got settled in the new house and our neighbors had decided to come and greet us; a man, a woman and a small girl. She looked about 3 or 4 years old. JongJin oppa and I were wrapped up in warm clothes since it was winter. When we went to the door, I grasped onto my appa’s pant leg and peeked between his and JongJin’s bodies.

The little girl suddenly ran to me and said, ‘It’s an unnie!’ I honestly found it strange but smiled a little. The woman had told us that they were our neighbors and introduced themselves. The little girl’s name was Byun SeungMi. We became close friends because I watched over her and JongJin oppa and I baby-sat her whenever her mom and dad were away; even though I was only about 8 years old at the time.

School life was rough, kinda. I was still on the heavy side and I was the main target of bullying. I was still best friends with SeHun, so don’t think I forgot about him when we moved. I wrote him letters all the time and I still do, when I can’t see him. I was only 9 years old when the older girls started noticing my weight and picking on me.

In 2005, we got news from ‘SM Entertainment’ that JongWoon oppa debuted in ‘Super Junior’. It was November 6^th and we got to watch him on TV. I was surprised to see him on the TV, he looked so awesome. I never would have thought that he could be so charismatic, I mean, he’s so calm and weird. That was when appa told us we would be moving back to Seoul. He wanted to start his business there, and we were moving in a week or so. I had to say good-bye to SeungMi. I also took this as a new start with a new school.

Unfortunately, it was the same, but worse. Before leaving Incheon, I had gotten braces because both my top front teeth had grown in crooked when I lost them & my back bottom teeth were growing askew as well. My eyesight had gone bad from all the video games I would play so I’ve had to wear those geeky glasses, since appa is a bit cheap. Most of the people at this school are so shallow that they only saw how flawed I was; my large figure, my geek glasses, the metal tracks in my mouth, etc. Even with SeHun, I got bullied like no other. Yeah, that’s right; we reunited and went to school together.

I also started working with my parents around this time; at Handel & Gretel. I would do my homework first before coming down to help my family. JongJin and I would wait tables while appa and umma did the cooking. JongJin usually operated the register, umma cleaned, appa did the cooking and I either waited tables or made refreshments. I sometimes even sang for fun when some of the other workers would take my jobs for me. I used work to get away from the bully problems and just not think about school.

This whole bullying saga went on until I was about 15 years old. Correct, bullied for about 5 years non-stop. But that’s because during the age of 14, I decided to try and lose weight. It took a long time but I managed to slim down, as well as grow in height. Now that I had become someone in the looks department, I felt like the person I wanted to be. I took great care of my skin even when I was large, so now that I got thinner I was I guess, ‘beautiful’. My face didn’t look as thick as it used to be.

Everyone acts completely different towards you when your outside looks appealing to them. They all try and up to you and act like they didn’t do anything to torment you before you ‘transformed’. However, SeHun is different, no, I don’t like him like that, he saw me before I changed so he knows who I really am. He’s not shallow and he can tell the difference between acting and sincerity. He’s been there for me through thick and thin, literally; and that’s what makes him like my big brother(s); protective and loving, just how I like them!

I got rid of my braces and now have a retainer. The retainer bugs me a little but I have to wear it so that my teeth don’t move around. They look perfect because of them! The main reason they bug me is because they give me a very noticeable lisp, especially when I pronounce the ‘s’ sound. SeHun and I both got ours around the same general time, so we always giggle when we talk to each other.

I always come by SM to meet my friends and JongWoon, or ‘YeSung’ as he wants to go by. It’s a fitting name if I do say so myself. I’m the girl who brings lunch to all, and I mean ALL the SM staff; that would include artists, trainees, trainers, managers, coordinators, choreographers, stylists, etc. I always have food for people because you know me; the girl who had an eating disorder at a young age. If you see me, I’ll be sure to have loads of food!

JaeKyung helped him and put a band-aid on his injuries and SeHun saw a bit of an older sister in her, even if he is 3 months and a week older.

Relationship: JaeKyung and SeHun are the closest out of all her friends. They almost seem like brother and sister. He knew her before her appearance transformed so he knows who she really is; not that she fakes how she is. For example, when she’s thinking deeply, she’ll forget people are around and he’ll always ask what up. JaeKyung will try to cover it up, but he knows! Plus they both get teased about their lisps.

Amber was the only one in the room, since Krystal was visiting Jessica, Sulli and Luna were hanging out with Luna’s twin sister and Victoria was talking with SHINee. Amber was in need of assistance with her outfit and JaeKyung had helped her. They got talking and soon became best friends.

Relationship: These two are also a lot like sisters, even though they are COMPLETE OPPOSITES. Having multiple differences makes it easier for them to hang out because you may get tired of having so many things in common with one another. JaeKyung likes it when Amber’s boy-like personality shows greatly because if SeHun or her brothers aren’t around, it helps her get used to being around the male population.

Relationship: Though they don’t see each other much, Janey is like a sister (again) to JaeKyung. But usually, JaeKyung babies her, because she is so young. Janey sometimes acts like JaeKyung is her umma so it’s easy for her to have a motherly attribute towards her.

How did they meet: Hanging out with SeHun meant hanging out with EXO, and JaeKyung did a lot of that. JaeKyung was hanging out with SeHun, ChanYeol & Kai. They were having lunch with the rest of EXO and SeHun was trying to get Kai to open up to JaeKyung because he was still shy around her. TaeMin came in looking for Kai for a dance practice, and saw JaeKyung drinking banana milk. We all know he loves the stuff and he rushed over and asked her if he could have one. Of course she said yes and they became friends.

Relationship: A lot like Janey and SeHun, TaeMin sees JaeKyung as an older sibling. She just has that motherly aura around her. He even calls her ‘noona’ or ‘umma’, like he does for Key. JaeKyung and TaeMin dance with one another, even with SeHun or Kai.

How do you act around another: Since Lay is a male, she is nervous around him. She in fact has a crush on him because she finds his Korean cute.

His Personality: Lay is a bit awkward with his Korean still so he finds it a bit difficult to speak it. He’s a little shy around women but he can handle talking to them. He’s a skilled dancer like Kai and TaeMin. He is quiet and a bit reserved.

1. I chose this song for JaeKyung because she can sing quite high. She’s usually the one that would do adlibs and harmonize with the lower or other voices. Despite her image and personality, JaeKyung isn’t the type of girl that would sing a lot of the feminine/pretty princess/girly songs, but she can. She’d rather sing songs not about love. Her brother and cousin have made herself want to sing amazingly because of their reputation in their groups.

2. Not only can JaeKyung sing, but she can rap. This song shows that she can sing/rap  at a lower pitch and that her vocal range is large. The songs that she sings/raps are kinda quiet but they still ‘pack a punch’. She loves to rap as well. SeHun is her rapping buddy and inspiration for her rap. He and her practice their raps together.

Personal Fanclub: The Wild Ones – “Toki” means, ‘rabbit’ in Korean. Besides that note, JOKERs in a deck of cards are used in case of one of the other cards is missing. Jokers are seen as the people who are always playing pranks and can’t sit still. The same with rabbits. People think that they are super hyperactive and bounce off the walls. In a nutshell, they’re wild, thus making them the WILD ONES!
