Apply fics.. these are actually one of the most popular things on AFF.

But my biggest pet peeve is that some people only choose characters based on how they set out the application.. and by this I mean that they only look at how neat it is.. and some people don't read the apps and skim through them

I know alot of people are going to disagree or agree whatever because we all have different opinions.

Okay so how I choose applicants is very simple.

When I click on their application the first thing I want to see is how long the scroll bar is. LOL I know it's weird but I like...not short and not lengthy but detailed apps. I find that some authors like to stick with short apps that has very brief information and it doesn't make the character unique because you don't know anything special other than what they have there on the application itself.

When I look at personality, yes I like cliche characters.. BUT not all the time. If you are an apply fic author you would put in like about 2-3 cliche characters while the rest are all different.

It's because you need to have aleast that typical plot setting like:

Intro > Normal Stuff > Drama > Complication > More Complications > Resolution > Ending.

The cliche characters are the problem starters in most stories.

I find that I really dislike apps that make their characters seem so perfect. I can't seem to write how good things can go in a drama fic if there are "Mary Sue(s)" in the story.

Trust me, not all characters are going to be saints or whatever. At least pick a few characters who are close to perfect.

OH. Another pet peeve on apps is the background.

OMG. When I ask for a detailed background.. people give me 2 lines about family and most of it is how they are doing now.. not before she was moved to this, that etc.

It gives more depth to the plot and character itself. Most people put down stuff like : Oh this person has a mom and dad and sister and brother and... yeah you get what I mean.

For love interests... I personally look into this alot.

When I look for love interests for my character.. I look at how they are like to see if they match with the character. If not I go to their backups and see if they fit and so on.

For me I don't really like writing about Noona/Dongsaeng relationships.. but if it fits with the character then heck.. I'll just write it for fun and experience!

And for the area I look forward to is the dislike, like , trivia , hobby etc sections!

This is a big deal really.

When I look at applications I always look forward to seeing what these people like and don't like.. what they do and stuff.

But I really dislike the way how people show that they like this and that etc.

When I write down stuff for that section, I put them in sentences and explain why they like it or some .. And the likes have to count towards their personality too.

LOL I remember being a total fail applicant a couple of years back because I at applications but know that I have enough experience I know what to do and what not to do.. But I do make mistakes so don't judge me please~
