- about you -

Personality: Daemi is aloof, she's a very distant person, mainly because she's scared of making new friends. She puts a distant between her and the world just to protect herself from the solitude she felt in her childhood years, she's afraid to commit to close friendship and possibly love.

If you open the doors to her heart, you'll find her to actually be a cheerful girl who's afraid of hurting others. She wants and expects everything to be perfect and happy all the time and is afraid of conflict, hers and others. She likes to overthink things and may think that her thoughts were reality. She's not afraid of change and would happily accept it. Forgiveness comes to her easily and is often described as naive.

She's a little bit of a dork, who'll make simple mistakes in talking and would often trip over walking on stairs. She may choke on whatever she's drinking just because someone talked to her. Woohe is also a little conceited, who isn't? Woohe is a good actor, she acts like she knows nothing, but she likes to observe others and can often see faults or find information about others just by looking at their little actions or small talk. Though she'll never tell anyone anything she figures out, afterall, why would anyone do that?

Daemi is intelligent, she enjoys logical thinking and just sitting there piecing things together, such as a puzzle. Ofcourse, she's also playful, she likes to climb trees and is eccentric in that way as she does not enjoy gossiping, unless it's just to inform others about what happened or to recieve information, she spreads no rumors and isn't very into being trendy or most beautiful. She enjoys making herself beautiful like any other girl, but she has zero intentions to do it to compete with others.

Daemi would easily say no over saying yes just to please people. She doesn't please anyone purposely, she treats those whom she likes nicely and may treat her enemies coldly, she's hard to get since you could never tell what she's thinking behind her words and may often be hot and cold towards others depending on her mood. She is oblivious towards love directed at her from people she thinks of only as friends.

Background: Daemi was born in Washington D.C, being the second child of her family. Her childhood was a blur, both her parents worked and she was often left at home with her brother and the caretaker/nanny. Television was her favourite thing to pass time, she dispised her brother for being an annoying brat and her best friend was the caretaker. Primary school went by fast, Daemi had been smart and capable, she wasn't the most popular, but she had her own circle of happiness. She had three best friends and they were always together at school, no matter what. Over time, Daemi's life became revolved around the three other girls. Daemi was easy-going and like to see everyone happy, so she tried her best, even out of her comfort zone to help and please her friends. Thought she didn't realise how fragile friendship was, until highschool.

Freshmen year, everyone's excited, new school, new people, new oppotunities. The four girls still stayed together though, still enjoying each other's company. Half way through the year, one of the girls moved away, she had a scholarship offered to her at a private school on the other side of the states. That girl was Daemi's closest friend. Though the grieve of the girl moving away was soon downed by time, Daemi still remembered her and kept in touch while the others had slowly drifted away. Though, right after that, a girl transferred in, she wasn't the most beautiful, but she was cute and likeable with everyone, soon enough she was let into Daemi's group of friends, the one who started hanging out with her was Daemi herself. Slowly, Rebecca made her way into everyone's hearts, everyone though very well of her and loved her, including Daemi. Over time, Daemi's opinion of her, however, sunk lower and lower. She wasn't grateful, she was bossy and moody. Why does it seem that everyone always looked over her negative traits? Why is it only me who sees them?

Daemi acted everyday at school, as if she didn't mind the girl's attitude like everyone else, it was harsh. During that time, Daemi wasn't sure about herself anymore, but she met a guy at school, he was popular and nice towards Daemi, after a month or so, they went out. Her boyfriend wasn't the most known person at school, but he was popular for being handsome and kind. Daemi's friends would admit very well that they were a little bit jealous. Rebecca was another issue, she had been the childhood friend of Daemi's boyfriend, always having a crush on him, but someone he's just met for a month and they start dating? To her, it was harsh blow to her self-esteem. She had planned to leave the girl who she didn't really enjoy talking to alone and just try to gain her friends' favour, but she feels that it isn't enough, Daemi didn't deserve all the attention she has, especially since she had not worked as hard as Rebecca to gain it.

Rebecca invited everyone in their class to hangout, eat and to karaoke. Daemi wasn't on th list of invitees, everyone questioned, but they were told that she 'was sick and couldn't come'. The day was planned to be perfect, but they had a little misunderstanding at the place where they were meeting, so two groups waited at one place and another waited at a different place. That begun a misunderstanding which Daemi's original friends went back and ranted to Daemi about. Daemi wasn't pleased that Rebecca had invited everyone except her without a reason and on top of that her friends didn't even bother telling her. Though she forgave them easily and heard all about the stories. She felt that justice was finally served, but didn't feel comfortable with Rebecca anymore at school. One of her original friends found some senior who favoured her and wanted to hang out with her, so she was always away from the group, but another friend stayed at Daemi's side, she was the person she trusted the most. At the same time the girl also had lots of elective classes with Rebecca, so she still acted nice infront of her to save face. Daemi did the same only to not to be rude, but she was ignored everytime and made fun of for her kindness.

So she stopped playing nice. She wasn't like Rebecca telling people not to talk to Daemi, because she finds that to be detestable and disgusting, but as rumors went, Daemi's friend was down to one last one. She didn't mind, she liked her the best anyway, but unconciously she was under a lot of stress. She tried to overlook it, but soon she had been stuck with a deep depression. Her facade didn't help her either, she was cheerful at school, but when she was at home, some times she thought about suicide. Though no one has ignored her when she spoke to them other than Rebecca, it wasn't easy seeing everyone's faces down and showing disinterest when they spoke. During that time, a large event took place, the death of her father. He was at work when he had a sudden heart attack and died. His death made Daemi even more depressed and since his family was mainly in Korea, his body was sent there and Daemi's family also flew over for the funeral.

The funeral was large-scale, Daemi's father's family and relations in Korea attended along with his connections all through asia and the states. He was truly a love-able man in Daemi's mind. It seemed to make her more frustrated, 'Everyone loved you, dad. Why did you have to leave us so early?'. Amongst the crowd of the funeral, there was a boy, a few years older than Daemi who's noticed her eyes which held back so much tears.

After the funeral, Daemi stayed behind at her father's grave. She sat infront of it, crosslegged and cried out all her frustration. Her father died at work, she didn't even get the chance to see him one last time. Without thinking she blurted out everything on her mind, her friend, school, Rebecca, her loneliness. When she thought no one was there, she heard a voice behind her. It surprised her, because if something like this which happens in only comic books happened to her in real life, she'd wanted someone with a manlier voice, but she didn't complain.

"如果 你现在 怎么 伤心,这事情 完的时候,你一定 会 找到快乐。 (I'm sure that if you're suffering so much now, when it is all over, you'll definately find your happiness. ) " Was what he said. Those simple sentences had stopped Daemi's tears completely. Though her Chinese was only conversational due to her mother's heritage, she understood well what the boy was trying to convey and it made her very happy. The feeling of lonelieness was completely wiped away. Afterwards, they chatted a little and got along very well, aparently he was the son of a trading partner who was very close with Daemi's father. On that day, she promised to herself that she'll move to Korea when she graduates since her opinion of Korea was very good due to her meeting with Zitao.

"你可以叫我 'Zitao'. (You can call me Zitao. ) " repeatedly, Daemi had flashbacks about the mysterious boy whom she fell inlove with. She was 16 and he was only 3 years older than her.

When she returned back to the states, she had an optimistic personality. She didn't mind being ignored, being along or being talked about anymore. Because at the end, she'll definately find her happiness. She broke up with her boyfriend ever since her return and stayed single until she graduated to concentrate on her grades. Though she couldn't help being upset with Rebecca's words and actions still.

On Daemi's birthday, two days before she left for Korea, she held a party at a karaoke. She invited everyone and everyone who was invited came, even Rebecca and the friend who moved away at the beginning of her highschool life. It was because she knew she was leaving and wanted to leave a good, last impression. The atmosphere was beautiful, it was welcoming and warm. So, Daemi announced that she's to attend university in Korea. Though everyone's reaction was to tell her that they'll miss her or not to go, nearing the end of the night, Daemi went to the toilet, she was unable to controll her tears, though they put her through a lot, the happy times were not forgotten. So she silently sobbed in the toilet stall. Someone walked in, 3 girls who's voices were recognized as Rebecca, the girl who started hanging out with seniors and the girl who was Daemi's most trusted person.

"Finally she's running away, isn't it funny since everyone's here because it's her birthday and she's buying? " The venomous words were followed by a menacing laughter. "Yeah, she going to where? Korea? Is it because no university in the states would take her? " Wrong, I'm moving to Korea because it seems that Korea has far more kinder people than you patronizing freaks. "Yeah, yeah and she's been single for 2 years and her last boyfriend even left her for another guy. " Wrong, I dumped him because I didn't feel anything towards him anymore. They spoke more and as the laughter echoed in Daemi's ears, each sentence was like an arrow, stabbing at the girl's heart. Not about to take it anymore, she wiped her face and as the Chinese sentence echoed again in her head, she walked out of the stall and without thinking, she punched Rebecca in the face and went home. She didn't care anymore, if they were to be so heartless, she would too.

When she was in Korea, it had been a little hard for her, being cut off with her family and all. Her language barrier was broken after a while, but it had been a harsh life for her. She had overcome her depression and tries her best to be optimistic everyday. Living in a rooftop room to herself, attending school and working for her own money. Though she was fired for many jobs for being clumsy and rude to the manager(She's not used to having so much manners coming from the states and all), she soon settled down with a job at a cafe and another job at the Gucci store in the more flourishing side of Seoul. She worked even on Sundays to get extra pay since it's a holiday, but with both job, she barely manages to pay for her living expenses. Daemi's university costs were paid by her family. Sometime, she'll be so busy finding a solution for her financial problems that she'll forget why she's even in Seoul.

Parents:
Lee, Hyunsoo, 58, Businessman, Deceased
Was a lovable man, kind to his family, considerate of his trading partners. No one has even one complaint about him other than the fact that he overworked himself and died.

Lee, Soomi, 63, Surgeon, Alive
A strong woman, thought a lot about her children, and though she was fragile from the death of her beloved, she never cried infront of her children, giving them strength.

Sibling(s):
Lee, Hongmin, 23, University student, Alive
Brattish and annoying, he's needy and childish towards Daemi, but when she's in trouble, he always comes by and listens to her patiently or comfort her. Lives in the US.

Best friend: Black Tie

Love interest: Zitao

How did you meet: They met at cafe latte, when Daemi took the Chinese boy's order. She recognized his voice immediately, but he didn't seem to remember her, so she kept quiet. He soon became a regular there because he 'fell in love' with Daemi's coffee.

His personality: Zitao is honest, he's sweet and a little bit awkward. He's a quiet person and is often misuderstood as he has a fierce appearance, naturally sharp eyes and a shy personality. He's not a very social person and is often seen as a shadow. However, he is very cute if you try your best to get to know him. He's patient, considerate, honest and a little cute. The type to grab hold of the corner of your shirt because he's too intimidated to talk to you.

Your relationship with him: Daemi's found the boy who gave all her hope in her childhood years, the one who pulled her out of her depression, her savior almost. It was almost perfect and she felt that she was progressing well with him, he waltz in the cafe with his girlfriend. Daemi was shocked, but continued to act the same, fearing a crumbling friendship. Soon he starts asking Daemi to go shopping with him feeling her sense of style fitted him more than his girlfriend.(Tao is stinkin' rich too, 5 Gucci bags a month) Though it brought Daemi's hopes, he still maintains his relationship with her. Though they've been friends all along, Tao's girlfriend gets jealous and becomes more moody towards him and he asks Daemi for advice. After a large tantrum at the cafe, Tao breaks up with his girlfriend and things continue to progress in Daemi's favour.

Back-up love interest: Kris

How did you meet: At the cafe, when Kris comes up and orders a coffee with a girl. The girl was glaring down on of the workers(Probably liquer coffee because she's pretty and girls who are pretty are often targets of jealousy from women) and when she walks by, she bumped into her 'accidently' and the worker trips over. She apologizes, but sneers at the girl. Daemi finding it unfair for her to do so and corrects her attitude which caused a big drama with Kris, the girl and Daemi. Daemi ended up forcing to apologize.

His personality: Arrogance which cannot be measured, Kris is very attractive and he knows it very well. He's a person to flaunt what he has. He is very proud and hates to lose, even slightly. He indulges himself with rich brands and showy parties, but deep down he's very fragile. Afraid that people will leave him when he stops being so flashy. He's also lonely despite all the connections he has.

Your relationship with him: Daemi thought she'll never see them again, but she meet him at a shopping mall. The last limited edition Hello Kitty iPhone cover that was on sale was seem by both of them and they reached at the same time, causing an arguement as Daemi sees no use for Kris to buy it since he had a samsung and what guy goes around with a hello kitty cover? So they had another arguement and finally Daemi won. Afterwards, on a different day, Daemi was walking down the street and sees Kris in his oh-so-shiny lamborghini. She sees him and trips. Kris recognized her and decided to harrass her seeing as one of her shoe broke from the fall and she twisted her ankle, then he drives off only to come back few minutes later offering to drive her to work. Afterwards, he'll always visit her at work and until they both fell in love.
