Jan Eul is known throughout the media to be a very shy, innocent, and naïve girl. She doesn’t talk much but has a pretty facial expression to make it up. Sometimes, it’s as if her face and expressions talk for her. When she likes something, her eyes would curve up to form half crescents. She would also produce out a sweet, and charming smile that makes her face glow. The highlight of her smile is her two, deeply enforced dimples marked at the side of her lips, one on each side. When Jan Eul is sad or unhappy, her eyes would slightly sag down and form a somewhat pouty and teary look. When she is annoyed, she can send out the sharpest death glare that can make anyone feel guilt and queasy.

History:

Jan Eul was born in Seoul, Korea but was raised in Los Angeles, California. She has one older brother, the infamous leader of Big Bang: Kwon Ji Yong and two, still living parents. At the young age of two, Jan Eul was sent to live with her grandmother, from her father’s side, in LA because her grandfather had recently passed away at that time. Her parents favored boys before girls so they had no hesitations in picking Jan Eul out of her brother and her. Jan Eul, however, does visit her parents and brother often. When she visits, she’s often pampered with expensive gifts and toys to make up for her leaving. Although her parents liked sons more, they still loved Jan Eul very much, just not as much as Ji Yong. Ji Yong, is Jan Eul’s overprotective brother who likes to monitor Jan Eul’s every move. He is sometimes more overprotective than her parents and would do anything to keep Jan Eul safe. The two siblings are close and help each other out. When Jan Eul was thirteen, her father’s mother passed away and Jan Eul moved back to Korea.

During the summer she was five she decided that she wanted to become a singer. She was in Korea at that time and got inspired by the dancing, super pretty idols on screens. Once she got back to the US, she wasted no time in signing up for hip hop, jazz, and other various dance classes. She also took on piano and guitar. When she got older, Jan Eul began taking vocal lessons to help stable her voice.

When Jan Eul was fourteen, she decided to audition for YG Entertainment, under the influence of her older brother, Ji Yong. However, she failed the auditions. A few months later, Jan Eul auditioned for JYP Entertainment and got in at the year of 2007. 2007 was the year Big Bang and Wonder Girls rose so she was heavily inspired to do the same as them. She had received help from Wonder Girls leader Min Sunye and was determined to match up with her skills. Also, she was determined to do a lot because her brother’s recent debut. Jan Eul also met and became close friends with: Ok Taecyeon, Nichkhun Horvejkul, Min, and Bae Suzy along with Jo Kwon.

Jan Eul debut as a soloist at the year of 2009. She scored high with her record sales and what shocked the viewers and fans most was that she was only 15, turning sixteen. Thus, she was often put on to scale with IU, another young soloist. Jan Eul also starred as cameos in various dramas before finally landing herself with a leading role.
