Personality:

To describe Mikyoung in one word would be 4D. She has this tendency to question things a lot of useless (though at times funny!) things: 'why is a pineapple called a pineapple?' 'Is true - if we wake up around 2-3, there is a high probability that someone is watching us?' - that sort of useless questions. She is often seen as a funny person though she still does not know why she is seen as funny. She is not much of a chatterbox but she would talk when she feels the need to intervene, is obliged to talk and when she gets restless. Though, at times, whatever that comes out of is comical and weird. People's first impression on Mikyoung is that she is a cold, straightforward and expressionless girl. This is due to the fact that she would always frown when people are talking to her - mainly because she is slowly translating their sentences in her head and when she wants to answer, she would always stumble over her words but those who knows her very well, know that that's just how Mikyoung is.

Losing her mother at a young age made Mikyoung learn how to independant and not to rely too much on her family. She nags her siblings a lot when they mess up the kitchen and never bother cleaning the mess. She could be seen as a motherhen, what with her constant smothering people with her act. Due to this, she would at times be taken advantage of. Mikyoung has a rather naive image on her but it is understandable seeing as she is still adapting to the culture in Korea.

Family Background: Mikyoung has always shown a great passion for dancing, especially after seeing her mother dancing and her older sister entering singing competitions. The whole family is really supportive of her wanting to be a performer. This all started when her mother told her to join the dancing team and urged her older sister to join the cheerleading team. Unlike her sister, she finds joy in dancing but she was gently kicked out of the team because she cannot really dance that well. Her siblings encouraged her to focus on singing and her mother found a vocal trainer for her. When her mother passed away, Mikyoung did not let that get in her way. Sure, she was devastated, everyone in the family was but she somehow channels all of her emotions into singing and soon after that, her trainer got her hooked to composing. With the support from her family, Mikyoung would always try and send her videos to major companies, but she has been rejected quite a few times. When her sister got signed under SM, she cried for approximately half an hour before congratulating her sister. That only fueled her and made her determined to be a performer - for her mother. When the first offer came, Mikyoung immediately took it without hesitation. At the age of sixteen, she left LA and began her new life in Korea.

How and where you were discovered: Mikyoung had sent most of her videos to a lot of companies but mostly rejected her because she could not dance that well and her Korean was really horrible. Her vocal trainer then insisted that Mikyoung should try a different approach and instead of sending her videos, Mikyoung would often do a livestream and perform whatever song that people are watching. The company took notice of her when they saw Tiffany watching Mikyoung's livestream and that was how she was discovered - at that time, she was singing Boyz II Men's It's so hard to say goodbye to yesterday. At age 16, she flew to Korea.

How you two met:

Mikyoung first met Hoya when she went to support her sister during one of her performances. At that time, she was still struggling with her Korean, though she has gotten slightly better at it. She kept to herself, when she was around people, mainly because she was afraid she would say something offensive to them. Hoya, at that time, was playing around with Sungyeol and accidentally bumped into her. Mikyoung immediately apologized - her awkward way of pronouncing the words had Sungyeol laughing. Mikyoung frowned but Hoya immediately introduced himself. Before he could say anything, Mikyoung finally remembers him as the scorpion dancer! She slowly tells him how much she really likes their songs and the 99.9 synchronization. Hoya was intrigued by the way Mikyoung was talking - she sounded like she had just learned how to talk but he found it deeply amusing when Mikyoung would mutter something in English and then scrunched her face, pondering her words. Their 'moment' was disturbed when Sungyeol decided to bother Hoya. She immediately apologize for holding them up and excused herself before Hoya could even ask for her name.

The second time they met, Hoya was currently walking around Han River as they were given a two hour break from their practice. As he was about to sit down on the bench, he saw Mikyoung, trying to explain something to an elderly woman. Hoya immediately rushed to her side and began helping her. Mikyoung was beyond relieved when the old woman finally left her - she couldn't understand a word the woman was saying but she knew that was mainly because of the accent she was using and when Mikyoung tried to explain, the woman began scolding her and demanding something. Mikyoung gave Hoya a hug which made him stiffen and that made her pull back before she began to apologize. She told him how she was still new to the culture and held out her hand. Hoya looked at her in confusion and she made the motion for him to shake her hand. Hoya laughed for a few minutes but shook his head, explaining to her that when you want to say thank you, you merely bow. Mikyoung agrees to that and was about to bow, when Hoya stopped her. She looked at him curiously and before Mikyoung could say anything, Hoya pulled her hand and together, they walked to the nearest cafe.

When they are together, Hoya would always try to show her both his manly side and his cute side, seeing as he once heard that she loves someone who was y but can be adorable at the same time. He gets jealous when Mikyoung looks at anyone but him. Regardless, he is very affectionate and patient with her. Hoya really finds Mikyoung intriguing and their relationship is rather sweet. Though, Hoya would get flustered at times when Mikyoung is too forward with her affections with him. Mikyoung would always get flustered after she watches him perform because there's just something about the way he moves and the swag he has around him that makes her weak at the knees. She somehow always manage to embarrass herself further whenever he is around her.

Rival: Suzy - they are friendly rivals, one that sees each other as a competition.
