Those who doesn’t really know Mikyoung that well would often say that she is “cold, straightforward and expressionless” but despite exuberating such image, it’s actually quite the opposite. She is actually a sensitive girl – an emotional one at that too! She might be straightforward but it was due to the fact that where she grew up, if you didn’t stand up for yourself, no one would. Mikyoung hides behind her ‘cold’ expressions because she was used to doing so ever since she was a little girl – it’s somewhat of a defense mechanism. But those who really do know Mikyoung very well know that Mikyoung is anything but expressionless. She is rather opinionated and is passionate about current world issues. She has a playful side to her as well and her humorous, dorky side only shows up when she is in her dorm or when she is with her closest friends.

One admirable thing about Mikyoung is the amount of effort she pours in to her work. Mikyoung’s Korean is really rusty and she struggles a lot to understand what people are talking about, so she takes extra time to learn three dozen sets of new words every day and practicing it whenever she has the chance to. Having lost her mom when she was just ten years old, Mikyoung learned how to be independent and sees her older sisters and brother as her role models, her pillar of supports. She learned at a young age that there is no substitute for hard work and to always focus on what she needed to achieve. “No pain, no gain” is the motto that she lives by. According to her, things that come easily would disappear easily too.

Regardless of what tasks are thrown to her face, Mikyoung would always make sure that she puts one hundred percent into every single task that she is given. She knows her weaknesses well and strives hard to improve herself (e.g. if they had to master some choreography in an hour, Mikyoung would put two extra hours just to make sure she gets every move correctly). She has a slight tendency to be obsessive with perfection although she is nowhere near being a perfectionist. In a way, she is similar to her sister but different in so many ways. She is highly afraid of bugs (or insects in general) because once, when she was young, her house was filled with a lot of bugs and they kept biting and crawling over her skin. Up until now, she would be scared stiff if a bug/insect lands on her or is near her. She is also afraid of the sound of explosions because it often reminds her of that one night when she was involved in a car accident.
 

background history: 
Mikyoung grew up watching her mom dancing. She was always in awe whenever she sees her mom making graceful moves on the stage and looking extremely gorgeous. Her love for performing had been rooted ever since she was a little girl. She would always enter competitions with her sisters and they would always perform whenever they go to church. As she grew up, her mom told her to join her school’s cheerleading team and she joined but only lasted for a month. Mikyoung decided to call it quits because she felt more comfortable singing and playing instruments.

She threw herself into performing and writing down her feelings when her mom passed away. She always felt closer to her whenever she performed and that was one of the main reasons as to why she really wanted to be a performer. She decided to follow her sister’s footsteps. Her “big” break came when her friend had signed her up for an audition and she was signed. Her dad was actually reluctant in letting her go, mainly because her sister had already left for Korea, two years prior to the competition being held and insisted that she studied business. But after talking her older brother and sister’s ears, they helped her convinced her dad and she parted with her family with a teary goodbye and a new will; to make her family proud of her achievements.

Woohyun is known to most people as the greasy, smooth member. Not to mention, he is always finding ways to play jokes on his fellow brothers. He cares and cherishes them very much and appreciates all the work the staff has done for them. Despite being known for his greasy behaviour, Woohyun would always get tongue-tied and shy whenever Mikyoung is around, which causes people to comment how adorable they would look together. Mikyoung, on the other hand, finds his flustered state very endearing though she is worried that he might not like her because he is greasy to everyone except her.

Just like the rest of s, Hoya is a guy that has a lot of different sides. He is a wonderful man, one that respects women and knows how to treat them well. When he first saw Mikyoung, he was slightly startled by the cold expression she bore on her face and actually thought of not being around her. But that all changed when Hoya heard her sing - the emotions that poured into the song made him look at her in a different light.
 

Sunggyu is known to be the charismatic leader but whenever he is around Mikyoung, his charisma flies out of the window and it is replaced with Sungyeol's childish behaviour. He acts like a kid around her, always trying to get her attention by doing all sorts of things that he knew she likes. Mikyoung likes how she is very comfortable with Sunggyu and how he would always manage to make her laugh with his antics. She finds his cuteness and childish acts rather refreshing and very adorable!

rival: Kwon Jaekyung (OC). Jaekyung and her used to be really close, almost like sisters. The two of them usually do everything together. But all of that changed when Mikyoung was fourteen years old. She had began to outgrow her child-like body and filled in all the right places and Jaekyung hated the fact that all the spotlight was on her. So when there was a singing competition, she entered the both of them in and only told Mikyoung about it when it was nearly the day of the contest. That was the start of their beautiful friendship cracking. When Jaekyung won first place, she was smug about it and when Mikyoung confronted her, Jaekyung merely said that no one is allowed to outshine her. Mikyoung was furious but that later dissolved when she got signed instead of Jaekyung. Ever since the day Mikyoung moved to Korea, she vowed that she would always make sure she gets what she wants and what she wants was to see Mikyoung beneath her. / real enemies - talent rivals.

how did you get into sm:  Mikyoung placed second on a singing competition and due to her impressive vocals, two weeks later, she was signed under Starlight, one of SM's academy. She was supposed to debut in a trio group but never got the chance to debut when two of the girls moved to different companies. She spent another year in Starlight but after meeting Go Ara, she was recommended to move to SM.
trainee period: 4 years – 3 years under Starlight and 1 year under SM.

how does your character react around kids:  In general, Mikyoung really adores children, no matter how old they are. Whenever she sees babies when she is walking or not doing anything, she would always make funny faces and wave her hands at the babies. She would often ask for kisses or hugs from toddlers. She loves being around kids because they reminded her of the fun times she used to have with her brother and her sisters. Though she might act more differently if and when the kids are older than eight but normally, she treats them just fine. At times, she would fuss over the kids and always strive to make sure they are comfortable with her.
pretend that it happens: At first, Mikyoung would keep quiet about it but if the problem still persists, she would confront the managers or whoever that is responsible and tell that the group consisted of four other members who worked just as hard or perhaps harder than said member.
