Personality: Eiji's personality really matches his blood type. AB's are said to be people with almost two entirely different personalities, easily switching from one to the other, and that fits him. At times he can be very serious and strict, which something he picked up from his father. It tends to come out more so when he's around little children(or in this case, his group members) who aren't following the rules. He's definitely a stickler for the rules. You won't find him disobeying his manager or boss anytime soon, unless you get him flat-out drunk, that is. And that brings us to another point. He can either have a high tolerance for alcohol, or he'll have a low tolerance. It depends on his stress levels and the situation he's in. When it comes to parties , award ceremonies, and stuff like that, he's pretty good at tolerating it. If it's just him and a few buddies, he'll get drunk after a couple bottles.

People find it easy to describe Eiji as a nerd. Truthfully, he is, but he doesn't enjoy to admit it. If he isn't busy practicing until his joints hurt or singing until his throat burns, you can probably find him lounging on the couch in the dorm with a laptop on his lap. Yes, he's a bit lazy and yes, he's a gamer. Not as extreme of a gamer as he was during his trainee days, though. He could spend the entire night gaming then, but now, with the debut coming up, he's definitely toned it down a lot. He really hates when people assume just because he enjoys gaming he's extremely lazy, stupid, or even a bit of a shut-in. Those people couldn't be even more wrong. He loves to meet new people and talk with them. Eiji also really enjoys university, and even wishes he could've gone sooner. Let's call all this 'Side A'.

And now I'll tell you about 'Side B'. When he gets overly stressed, he'll sort of.. transform. He becomes much more childish and tends to rely on others more, unlike in Side A where he's an extremely headstrong person. He can't really help this. When the stress gets too much he just goes *poof!* and now you have a five year-old in the body of a twenty-one year-old.  He'll whine, fight back, sometimes ignore what his manager or boss has to say, and when worst comes to worst, he'll start doing some skinship. The other members learned in training it's best to leave him by himself(or, when he get's togeher with Kyuhyun, leave him with him) until he sort of snaps back into Side A. Luckily, it's hard for him to get into Side B but it's easy for him to get back to Side A.

That's not his only flaw, though. Eiji is overly-sensitive. He'll cry easily. Wether it's the group's first win, end of one of their concerts, their first award, blahblahblah.. you'll see him crying. Some fans like that about him, though. "It means he isn't afraid to show his emotions!" they'll say. In the idol world, it's not a good thing. Not only does he show his sadness or so-happy-he'll-cry emotions, it's easy to see when he's pissed off or lying. MC's on television shows like to about that, then even more once they see how angry he's getting.

In short, he's basically a sometimes mature, sometimes childish, but always over-emotional guy who really needs to learn how to lie.

Habits:

  • when he's getting angry, he his lips
  • blinks a lot when he lies
  • cracks his fingers when nervous
  • if he's around someone he likes, he gets really quiet
  • chews gum before each preformance

Hobbies:

  • playing video games
  • sleeping
  • composing new songs
  • practicing his dancing (he wants to become better than Jaewon, even though it really isn't possible)
  • eating strawberries

  • strawberries (but it's more like he loves strawberries like onew loves chicken)
  • ballads (helps him relax)
  • math (had to learn really advanced stuff in university and suddenly started to like doing it)
  • whipped cream (he puts it on top of everything possible. waffles, strawberries, ice cream, pancakes.. everything.)
  • computers (it's a part of his major, so of course he likes computers!)
  • coloring pictures (he can color, but not draw)
  • polar bears (he wanted one as a pet when he was little)

Dislikes:

  • spicy foods (he hates when it burns his mouth)
  • waking up at, like, 3AM (would rather be sleeping)
  • horses (he fell off one when he was 5 and has been scared of them ever since)
  • hot or cold weather (he likes it in the middle, like during autumn)
  • geography (his worst subject)

  • left-handed
  • never learned to swim
  • took singing lessons when he was 14 up until he was 16

Family

Parents:

  • Natsume Matsuda - Father - 52 - CEO of Everything Electronics' Korean subdivision

Background: Eiji was born in Tokyo, the capital of Japan and one of the most heavily populated cities. For the first few years of his life he practically grew up in a daycare center since his parents were always so busy with work. When he first started school, his parents lowered their workloads a bit to be with him until he was used to school. Then they went right back to work, leaving a 6 year-old to make a 15 minute walk home every day and stay alone until his parents came back. That never changed, even as Eiji got older. The walks became longer once he entered Junior High since the school was farther away, but Eiji never really cared. He was raised like that, so he figured that's what all his friends did too.

One day his parents came home and his father announced they were moving to South Korea. Eiji was really confused so he asked why. "I was offered CEO position at the sub-division there! Those Korean lessons sure paid off!" was what his father answered. So a few days later they packed their bags and flew to South Korea. Eiji was only 14 then.

Eiji was really depressed the first few months. He had no idea what anyone was saying when they spoke Korean, and despite all the lessons he got from a teacher, just wasn't picking up the language. A boy in his school, however, was able to bring him out of his shell. His name was Jaewon and when he first spoke to Eiji, Eiji practically fell in love. It left him confused because he never had feelings for a boy before, and all his friends back home said people like that were creepy and weird. He slowly stopped contacting them, and spent a lot of time with Jaewon. Jaewon knew both Korean and Japanese because he, too, was both nationalities. They got along like cat and dog, sometimes fighting, sometimes just being friends.

When Eiji turned 16, Jaewon convinced him that they should try out for SM Entertainment. Eiji was still head-over-heels in love so he agreed. The two of them both got in, Jaewon with his magnificent dancing skills and Eiji with his magnificent singing(or rapping, lol.) skills.

Training

Training Length: 4 years in SM, 2 years in LOEN, 6 years total.
Training Company: SM Entertainment at first, then transferred to LOEN Entertainment.

How was he discovered?: His old friend Jaewon convinced him to try out at SM. They both made it in, and were trainees for a few years. There was a picking for members for EXO-K, and both of them were possible choices. Eiji was chosen, and Jaewon was really upset because he wasn't. He got revenge on Eiji by making him trip and break his leg, right before he was to start training. SM dropped him from EXO-K and chose someone else. After about a 2 month recovery, Eiji left SM and was able to transfer into LOEN Entertainment. Two years later, Jaewon is still in training and hasn't been announced for any new groups. (see, kids? that's why revenge is bad!)
