Happy Birthday to Jonghyun!!

Jonghyun…he’s one special guy, isn’t he? I hope that today he’ll enjoy his day very much. He’s 22 years old now!! When he first started with SHINee, he was only 18. About 5 years have passed…Though he had a bump along the way, I’m glad he and his fans were able to get over that bump together. I just hope that his fans will treat him with more care tbh. Even though he seems tough and everything, he’s delicate ok!! Lmao. Anyhow, it’s great to see him laughing, joking around, trolling, and talking a lot now. It looks like he’s enjoying life right now and I hope he rly is. Today, I hope that he’ll be able to have the most fun. I hope that he and his fellow members will be successful in everything that they do. I hope that he’ll remain healthy and happy for many more years to come. ♥

01. his smile (tbh there are more than 10 reasons why i love this man so much—from the way he trolls twitter to his picasso drawings, to his obvious ual frustration over choi minho, to his tears, to the mole on his chest, to his obsession with dogs, basically i could go on forever listing everything i love about him. because he’s not just a handsome face and a gorgeous body. there’s so much more to him. but his smile pretty much summarizes it all. that smile which can make my toes curl and elicit a desire from me to kiss him. or punch him. or both, idk. that smile which makes me want to scream it how are you real! and that smile which pretty much messes up everyone’s bias list, because admit it, blinger or not, his smile can make your heart flip. that ing smile i wish to see in every day of my life. please don’t ever lose that smile )

02. his burning passion for music (begging his mom to let him transfer into a music institute, saving up money to secretly buy music instruments because he was afraid his mom won’t approve of it, dropping out of high school to chase after his dream of becoming a singer, enduring grueling hours of training, and going through numerous slumps and depressions before debut, all this and more he faced at such a young age because of his burning passion to create his own music. Finding something to be so passionate about is difficult. But it’s more difficult to turn that passion into a big dream and that dream into a reality. So every time a song he wrote comes out, my heart would swell with pride and my eyes would brim with tears because I know how much he sacrificed for this. And the words he said when he was 18 would echo loudly in my ears every time he sheds a tear for each award SHINee wins, “I want to be a true musician. A true artist who produces and writes his own music. That’s my dream.” His passion for music is inspiring and he isn’t just any idol who’s given tunes to belt out. No, he’s definitely more than that, because for me Kim Jonghyun is a true musician with a burning passion to prove his worth in the music scene.)

03. his love for the members (sometimes he acts as if he’s 3 years old and not a grown up man. and sometimes he’s just too dumb to function. but when onew cried so hard that he couldn’t continue his speech during mnet 20s choice awards, jonghyun wrapped a comforting arm around him and spoke on his behalf. when key cried during the encore performance of their concert, jonghyun was the first one to approach him and pat his back. when taemin cried on a radio program because he missed his brother so much, jonghyun was the first to ruffle his hair in an attempt to comfort him. when onew went too far with his sangtae and had actually hurt himself, jonghyun came running to him, rubbed his back, and told him to stop doing those body gags. simple acts like helping the other members with their clothing, feeding them, offering a hug or a pat on the back—these simple and sometimes subtle show of affection make me realize how much jonghyun loves and cares for the other four members. he’s not an immature kid all the time because he can be a caring hyung when he needs to be one. “He is always thinking of others silently and secretly, in a way that is not done openly and takes care of the people around him this way” - Onew; “He helps me a lot, tells me my mistakes, and teaches me a lot of things” - Key)

04. his undying love for his fans (saying “i love you” to fans, openly flirting with fancams, giving hugs which last a second too long—maybe it’s all just fanservice. but then again, the tears he shed in front of his fans, the apology he uttered when he didn’t have to, and the song he wrote because he misses his fans. these things somehow show how genuine his love is.  “When it becomes tiring and I want to give up, When I am weak and I want to run away, Your small hand becomes my strength. For the rest of my life I’ll sing a song for you.”)

05. his wink (that wink which is just too awkward, i cringe and laugh hard. but it’s so adorable that i just want to squish his face. how can awkward winks be that cute ;_;)

06. he talks too much (this kid doesn’t know how to shut up. he always has something to say. and it’s actually pretty ironic how he seems stupid and witty at the same time. he tends to speak really fast when he’s nervous and it’s nice to remember how adorable he was during their debut days when he would practically scream while doing their greetings and how he would speak nonstop in nervousness, sometimes even babbling nonsense. he’s dubbed dumbhyun by fans, but really kim jonghyun has so much wit to him.)

07. the expressions he makes while dancing (he goes from totally y to cute to derpy in a matter of seconds. his expressions while dancing are just too adorable, that i want to punch him and kiss him at the same time.)

08. he is number 1 in skinship (he is self-proclaimed first in skinship. he has this constant need to touch and be touched, and it’s actually nice if you think about it because simple hugs and pats on the back can really affect a person. and jonghyun never thinks twice to offer them when needed the most and it goes beyond just simple fanservice, because sometimes he does it unconsciously, as if it’s so natural for him to hug and touch.)

09. he knows he’s handsome (he is one little cocky bastard. he’s handsome, he ing knows it and he’ll make sure to rub it in your face. those cocky expressions he has which makes me want to punch the living daylights out of him. and when he flirts with the camera, can you ing not?! because ugh, how are you so gorgeous and perfect?)

10. he is a 3-year old kid (sometimes he’s just too hyper that his energy matches that of a kid and sometimes he acts as if he’s three. so much for being a grown man. but it’s adorable watching him play around like he’s the maknae and not the hyung.)
