2012.03.21 / "home"

the lights are out when he steps into the space, the moon’s light cascading through the sheer curtains he’d let her pick out because she wanted to help and he just couldn’t tell her ‘no’. it’s late and he shouldn’t even be there really - because he’s got a dorm to report to and she has hers. but it’s their secret space, their little getaway, their home - and so he decides to stay, at least for the first night back.

he opens the bedroom door just a crack and isn’t surprised to find a female figure tucked under a thick blanket, sleeping soundlessly. he doesn’t bother to open the light or remove his jacket; instead he climbs into the mattress and pulls the figure close, breathing in the soft scent of soap and lavender that was her favorite (and was his too). he listens to her breathe and smiles when her arms move to wrap around his neck and pull him closer, whispering a sleepy “hello” into his ear with her eyes closed and her lips smiling.

he says “hello” back and brushes her hair past her cheek. “you cut your hair.“ she nods and buries her cheek against his chest. her eyes are still closed, but he senses her fingers dancing against his nape and shivers.

“yeah… you did too. i like it.” she responds, sighing as she crept closer. half of the bed is left unoccupied but neither of them mind. they’re too sleepy, too tired to move; too comfortable to place themselves elsewhere but there.

she moves only to brush a kiss against his mouth: warm, sincere, loving - “welcome home, changmin.” - and he grins, pressing his lips against hers a little more before drifting off into a slumber of his own as well…

“welcome home too, yoona.”

I needed to write to relieve some of the hurt I've been feeling.
