Some Opinions Please?

So did anyone see the vocal rankng on allkpop for female best singers?

 

Taeyeon came in fifth, which I'm definitely surprised at. I'm not being biased because I'm a sone but beccause I've studied close to a decade of music (ranging from classical to pop) and seen the vocal range she is able to bring forth. Nowadays, the company doesn't showcase everything Taeyeon can do but rather goes easy on vocal range as SNSD's schedule is exhausting enough already. Truth be told, I'm rather curious to see whether those experts have even seen a professional vocalist, fan of Taengoo, list down the vocal range of Taeyeon. Its a video on Youtube, I just can't seem to find it at the moment... 

 

At that, Hyorin from SISTAR winning first place sort of miffed me. I'm a big fan of her, and I think she's fun and hilarious. However, sometimes she strains her voice hitting those high notes; thus not expertly delivering the emotions meant to be expressed. In any case, my opnion, first place should have gone to Lee Hae Ri from Davichi. That lady's vocal range and talent is powerful and exceptional.

 

I have seen all the vocal ranges of all five of these girls. i've spent a good year looking at almost all videos of female singers with powerful voices in the kpop world- an all rounder kpop fan XD

 

Personel opinion-no biases inteference ranking from me would be-

1. Lee Hae Ri of Davichi

2. Taeyeon of SNSD

3. Hyorin of SISTAR

4. Jea of BEG

5. IU

 

Emotions being conveyed in my opinion-is Taeyeon hands down. Only because Hae Ri's poweful notes can accidentally cover up the proper emotion, for instance in ballad songs and the feeling is not majestic but light.

Hyorin's voice has the tendency, I've seen from her live performances to sharp off; which can greatly affect the emotion portrayed.

Taeyeon has gone from portraying dolche in Gee, to powerful in other performances, to mastering the rock/punk style of Devil's Cry (which was extrodinarily portrayed well-I hadn't seen it coming myself)

Please understand that this is solely my opinion on this matter as I've seen arguments already break out over this matter. If any of you disagree, I would be more than happy to chat with someone and talk about it.

Those "professionals" who ranked these girls had such weird requirements and they totally didn't follow them. IU shouldn't even have been on the list since it was girl group members.

For me, Taeyeon definitely shouldn't be fifth, but I don't think IU should be fifth either. Idk. I like Hyorin's and IU's voices the most, but Hyorin strains a bit and, well, yeah. I don't really like Taeyeon's voice but she conveys so much emotions and her voice is just so powerful. I really love Hae Ri's voice.

I don't quite understand why IU is there. It's a girl group right? She's a soloist! I agree with Hae Ri and Hyorin but Jea? Really... I don't think so. When I first read the title, I thought of Taeyeon first so I was REALLY surprised when she only ended up 5. =.= I think our Taeyeon's a bit better than 5 you know? I don't know. *points to self* SM-biased. XD

honestly, I don't believe allkpop anymore. They'd posted an article before and said that blah blah blah is true but later on was proven as just a rumor (can't remember clearly). I'm not saying this because I'm a Sone but I completely agree with you. Taeyeon shouldn't be in the fifth spot. Again, just like you, Hae Ri is in my first spot, then Taeyeon, IU, Hyorin ~~. But (biased'ly) speaking, Tae is the one for me ^^

I don't agree at all. I hate rankings. They are biased to whoever is ranking. Per se, you are ranking IU to be the last. However, in my opinion she could be fourth. I'm good with ever who goes or gets the first place. I am really pleased to know that it's HyoRin. Her voice has this husky zing to it. But then again, that's my opinion.
Arianna, don't let "this" ranking get into you head.
Taeyeon, Jea, HyoRin, Hae Ri and IU are all wonderful singers. They are good at some aspects and not good in some aspects.
IDK, this is my opinion.
If I were to rank them.
1.) HyoRin.
1.) Hae Ri.
1.) Taeyeon.
1.) Jea.
1.) IU.

well. For me Hyorin is good at number one. But Taeyeon shouldn't be last. But I think IU is better than last too, in your ranking! :s
