Okay, so where do I even begin?

Fair warning, this is a rant. I am pretty pissed.

What the hell is wrong with people?!?! I read an article where Chen got to perform and the fans disrespected him. The man literally just turned 30 and they expect him to be single forever? Talk about brainwashed dumb asses in the world. Like if you consider yourself an EXO fan, then it shouldn't bother you who your idol dates/marries. Last time I checked, it's not a crime to get married and have children. Chen is allowed to find happiness. He is allowed to have a family. He is allowed to be in love and have a wife. There's no need to treat him like that. Chen has feelings too. He works so hard to entertain us and give us the music we love just like the other members do. It's so ridiculous to stop supporting Chen all because he has a personal life outside of EXO. All these haters are acting like fools. Nothing more than a bunch of 🤡

Click on the word article up there and you should be able to read it over too. It's just insane how ty people are. I would LOVE to have the opportunity to go to an EXO concert and I probably won't ever be able to go to one, and the fact these s have the audacity to pull that really grinds my gears. Attending an EXO concert is a privilege and they all work very hard to keep their fans entertained and happy.

For all the anti-chen's that don't like him specifically because he's being human than heres this one for you: 🖕🏻🖕🏻🖕🏻🖕🏻 We EXO-L's don't claim you!

I’ve been into KPop since 2008 and unfortunately this topic is still one of the worst! Dating is still treated as a scandal and therefore kept secret from the public most of the time, because since pre-debut/debut the idols are advertised as “perfect boyfriend of your dreams” material, as weird as it sounds that’s how the industry runs. They are selling the artists to the extent that the fans have the audacity to claim them as their own who cannot marry or date anyone because that would mean that they would have no more chance with the idol or fill their fantasies with a dating/married idol. It’s absolutely disturbing but it will probably take another 10-20 years until this weird mindset gets lifted.
I’m sorry that Chen goes through this bs, and also for all the other idols that had the same sh*t going on…

Hello. I have wanted to rant about this issue myself since the poor treatment hit in 2020. A lot of what sangwoosgihun said is correct, the Kpop industry created fans to be so absorbed into the culture that they would spend tons of money on anything related to that person or group.
Some of the comments that were said when news broke about the marriage and pregnancy were about all the merchandise purchased and investment. That right there was a problem. Just because those fans bought items with his EXO number or name on it or whatever it may be does not mean there is a return on it. It doesn't mean that whomever bought the must stuff would win the idol themselves. There is a huge disconnect with reality between Kpop and kfans since they have so much access to concerts and events.
On a positive note, I did see video footage on FB that someone shared on Chen's performance and A LOT of fans were singing along with him and waving their light sticks. I think for him it must have felt more positive and these news articles (I read a couple) are out there to cause upset. I just hope that the positive response he has had in London and Sydney at least really bring him happiness.
