as someone who is used to moving due to her father's business, andi has experienced many instances of gains and losses throughout her childhood. more often than not, she had to drop friendships and pick up new ones with an entirely different group of people within a span of three days. the experience has made her insanely adaptable to new surroundings.
having to make new friends every couple of months also made andi more observant. she has to pick up on social cues from the people around her and gauge who she could make friends with lest she falls into the wrong crowd. the fact that she knows how it feels to be a new face in a crowd allows her to sympathize with new-comers, be it in school or within the company. then, she would read the newbie's body language and approach them with a matching energy.

andi spent hours in the practice room honing her skills. the trainers often commend her for her determination. she tends to beat herself up over mistakes that no one notices.
she strove hard to gain her lead vocalist position. she joined her first entertainment company tone deaf. it had taken her endless nights to hit the right notes so that she could stay in the company.
she also struggled with coordinating her limbs in the beginning, always tripping over her own two feet. with the help of the fellow trainees around her, she was able to hone her dancing skills.
however in 2018, her company announced that they would not be debuting a new group anytime soon seeing that gidle was doing great and encouraged trainees to seek out other companies. while it disappointed andi, she left with a light heart as she felt that she has gained invaluable skills.
soon after, one of her acquaintances recommended for her to try out mik entertainment. andi heeded their advice and attended the auditions. from there, she was accepted into the company.
now that she was 18, she was nearing the end of her high school years and university preparations were coming up. the new company had also teased at a new girl group, and andi was only more determined to be part of the final lineup while still keeping her grades up.
for months, she slept 2 hours a day balancing between school and training. while it played out in the end, being put in the secondary line up and acing her exams, andi found herself burnt out. after a talk with the company, she took two weeks off with the risk of being dropped from the secondary line up.
in the two weeks, andi traveled around the country with her friends. after a serious talk with her friends and her cousin, she learnt that she does want to perform on a stage. she ended up cutting the trip short, returning back to the company before her two weeks were up.

you're finally debuting! how does it feel?
a hearty chuckle. "it feels like seeing the emerge after a rain, you know? we've all been training for quite a while now, i'm sure we're all excited and hopeful for this!" andi rambles excitedly. "personally i'm curious to see what it's like behind the scenes during music shows."
razzle dazzle's concept is all about being different and loving yourself. what's different about you? do you love yourself?
"what's different about me?" andi repeats. the staff nods in reply, and andi falls silent, thinking about the question. "i think what's special about me is that i'm not that much special. i trained three years like most other trainees, have the same hobbies as most people, like and dislike general things. i was like other students in korea, putting my all in my studies because grades are that much important to us."
she pauses to take a breath, eyes downcast, brows furrowed in thought. "i think that's what concerns me the most, you know? everyone in this group has something that stands out about them. yeonhui has one ankle, belle is a tiny girl, cheiko is an emporor's niece. and i'm just a normal person—" she halts, looking up. "does being a normal average joe between them make me special?"
"no, but no joke, i don't think i'm that much different from the general public," she sighs, scratching at her neck. "i guess i know how to do pottery? and cry on command. that's probably it. i'd say i'm like a plain white shirt. not eye-catching. am i doing this right?"
the staff nods, encouraging her to go on. at that, the girl smiles a little. "do you love yourself?" andi continues, albeit out of breath. "i guess? sometimes i think i'm okay. other times, not so much. but i have to say that it was not much different compared to when i wasn't a trainee."
"what do you mean by 'i guess'?" the staff asks.
andi gives it a thought, then says, "i don't particularly love myself, but i don't hate myself either. it's like i'm neutral. it's like when you meet someone for the first time and they don't leave much of an impression on you."

"ooh, that's an interesting question," andi comments, brightening up. "i think what i want most for group is to be able to touch the hearts of the public through our performances. if possible, i'd like for us to get a music show win. for myself, i want to make happy memories with my members."
