french has a certain allure to her that makes her so diversely attractive to so many different people. her confidence is likely the first thing you see when you lay eyes on her, especially when oftentimes she is at the forefront of a group of people who look enraptured by the way she talks. there's an air of elegance about her but the more you're around her you wonder if that elegance is artificial. you stop noticing her long eyelashes and good posture and look more toward the way she picks at her fingernails and plays with her ear piercings— how long has she had those?

the truth is she's reckless and impulsive in her free time, which is spent partying and adventuring until 3am or whenever she thinks the afterparty has come to a close. she's usually the initiator of bad choices (ie bleaching your eyebrows on a night of hair destruction; "byob! bring your own bleach & developer haha") because she's very good at making mistakes while under the influence. many mistakes include her waking up in beds of people she doesn't remember meeting and having to pay for an uber back to her dorm. the amount of times she's gone to class hungover is immeasurable but you know... at least she's going to class...

other than her two main emotions (hot girl and hot girl 2.0), she's also got hot girl tears building up in her system that she releases every two weeks with a six pack of smirnoff ices and a sad charcuterie plate. she's still figuring herself out, surprisingly, so she locks herself in her single and ponders why she's felt so hopeless in college. obviously, though, since she only has surface-level friends that care about her superficially, she could never tell them about her existential issues. without an outlet, she's just gazing into the stars and hoping to get an answer from some higher power. as she gazes at her apartment-style dorm ceiling she wonders what it would have been like to have a regular freshman year, romanticizing new lasting friendships and idealizing a better relationship with louis if things had worked out. despite all this, she pulls through the night and wakes up on the floor with dried tears and a room to clean up.

University Life

frenchie has many different friend groups that she bounces back and forth between depending on how she's feeling. her weekdays are spent trying to relearn and retain information she picked up in waves while either high or hungover in lectures. obviously, she's not always under the influence but it's happened more times than she admits she's proud of. weekends and nights are either spent partying or crying, literally no in between. usually, when she spends the night at someone's house after a hookup she tells either ashton or dicky that she got back to her dorm safe in the morning.

Trivia

🍯 frenchie wants to become a museum curator after grad school and plans to build a life in america. she plans to start working on her visa this semester so she can work toward getting a job at the smithsonian or at a museum in southern california.

🍯 she doesn't actually have any close friends because her first year of school she kind of only focused on her relationship and didn't realize she didn't have anyone when that relationship ended; her closest friend is probably ashton but she can't tell him her emotional business because he's just gonna reply with sumn like "man i'm sorry bro but look what i can fit into my nose"

"if i'm not already buzzed, i'll do tequila shots." she answers immediately. she hesitates before speaking again. "if i am, i'll grab a vodka soda or a wine cooler."

she leans back and glances at louis in a not-so-inconspicuous way before realizing her mistake and looking away. "no particular reason. it'll be fun!"

park taeseong 🍯 at first she was indimidated by him because he's old and buff but soon after she started dating louis he became more like a dad friend. she hasn't talked to him since the breakup but they wave to each other in passing when they see each other at parties.

joey park 🍯 as frenchie still attends gpa house parties, one of the people she looks forward to seeing is joey, who shouts "frenjee!" as soon as he sees her. they're a very dynamic pair whether sober or not. many friends remark they're a horrible drunk combo because of the chaos that ensues. they mostly just send each other memes outside of the party scene but when they do meet up with mutual friends, let's just say it's hard not to laugh around them.

jeff bang 🍯 she's not sure what it is about jeff, but something is clearly off about him. despite this, she does her best to slowly chip at the awkward barrier between them. the most information she's gotten out of him is what his favorite snack is. she is scared of him.

gavin cheung 🍯 she's not visibly uncomfortable around gavin, but there are some things he does and says that make her wonder why he's like that. most of the interactions that they have are while under the influence because she can't really stand him when he's sober hehe.. (these interactions include her trying very hard to teach him tiktok dances and discussing who the hottest girl is in whatever sorority seems convenient)

dicky ahn 🍯 frenchie spends most of her time craning her neck to look at dicky's face while they're talking because he's a giant. she likes to sit and talk with him whenever they have a chance because they vibe really well together. they don't really have conversations outside of texting but they're one of those duos that can talk comfortably to each other no matter how much time has passed since the last time they interacted.

owen kim 🍯 whenever she sees owen, it's usually at a party, and he's usually already drunk and sad. her impression of owen is that he needs to be taken care of, mostly because he (unknowingly?) talks about his ex to her when he's super drunk. she does her best to comfort him but usually when he starts asking her if he should text her or not, she has to call a member of the brat pack over and escape.

ashton kim 🍯 frenchie and ashton have endless conversations about whatever's on their mind. maybe an hour later, they're hitting ashton's bong in her room and zoning out while watching the same episode of archer over and over. he's probably the person she talks to the most in gpa because they're the closest thing to best friends that frenchie has. she sometimes models for his films and teaches him greek in exchange for vape pen cartriges.

topher lee 🍯 because topher's a baby and because he was before the time of louis & frenchie, she doesn't know topher very well. she just started to get to know him after seeing him at gpa parties she's gone to but as per first impression, she likes to think that topher is a sweet baby boy. she offers edibles to him at parties.

Their Story

frenchie and louis met the summer before their freshman year in the lobby of the four seasons hotel george v while they were both traveling. after a few instances of making eye contact, frenchie decided to approach him one night by the pool and they talked for hours. they continued meeting each other each night by the pool and would talk until the sun rose—maybe a few other things besides talking but most of their nights spent together in france were filled with conversation. somehow, by chance, they had ended up attending the same university in the fall. they ended up dating after a series of coincidental meetings on each of their traveling tours through the summer and the rest was history.

however, their whirlwind romance ended in the beginning of their second semester of freshman year. they broke up after realizing how unhappy they both were as a result of not communicating (ironically). it's hard to say whether louis feels the same way, but frenchie is definitely still kind of hung up on how the relationship could have worked out if they just talked to each other about why they were unhappy. louis does notice that frenchie has a habit of looking at him when she's at gpa parties and he does the same a few times a night (though he'll never admit it).

when the time comes for louis to ask someone to go to cancun with him he takes a break from studying and scrolls through his recent messages. all the names start to blur together until he hits frenchie's name, as she saved it in his phone. nostalgia was steadily growing in his chest as he remembered freshman year louis glancing at his phone and picking it up as soon as he saw the yellow emojis around her name appear on his screen. in a moment of weakness, he decided to skim (read) through their old conversations. the next thing he remembers is frenchie walking away from him with a polite smile and a small wave, a familiar sinking sensation in his chest disappearing.

the two of them are seated in a secluded area of the library cafe patio, facing each other; neither are making eye contact. louis looks at her for a brief moment, she's stopped dressing in those maxi skirts and peter pan blouses... and clears his throat.

"so you know about the cancun trip coming up, right?"

her ears twitch at the sound of his voice and she looks at him. her face reaches a light pink and her chest feels compressed. "yeah, i've, uh, heard ashton talking about it."

"i know the others would want you there. and i, um..." he trails off, trying to force out the hardest part to say. "i want you to come with me."

frenchie, whose gaze was focused on the ice in her drink, looked up and made eye contact with him for what seemed like an eternity.

"and also, i remember you talking about that archeological site in cancun that you wanted to go to..." he mentions the site vaguely despite having dug through miles of conversation just to find the name of the el rey archaeological site in their old texts. he trails off again, breaking the eye contact and looking down at his hands in his lap. "you don't have to go, though, it's up to you, i won't force you."

the silence that follows suspends the two of them in time.

frenchie picks up her drink and eyes him with a mild expression. "i'll go with you."

he exhales, have i been holding my breath?

"we can talk, or something. hang out, maybe." she stands up, drink in hand. he stands with her. "i have class in a bit."

"no, yeah, i'll text you or–" have someone relay the information? no, that's... "i'll see you."

"see you." she smiles, waves, and heads in the other direction. louis sinks back into his chair. he is mentally blocked for the rest of the afternoon.

Ending

either they talk it out & end up back together after this trip or they don't ! honestly. it would b fine either way i just want them to resolve their problems... [it would also be nice if they were on good terms after everything hehe..]

🍯 surprisingly, they didn't block each other after breaking up because they wanted to be friends but that did not happen
