[ 1 9 9 2 ] At first Choi Areum was born. She was born as an only child, which left her alone most times. But she did have a strong connection with her parents. Areum wanted to become an actress after seeing a movie called The Way Home which made her cry and amazed that a young Yoo Seungho was able to make her so much emotion while watching. That lit up a spark in her and she wanted to do acting ever since. Her parents supported her dreams, because not many kids would have that same drive as her.
[ 2 0 0 5 ] Areum was signed to her first company, Yoohwa Entertainment. It was a small company at the beginning. So when she made her acting debut it was just a simple extra or minor character that would get one or two lines to speak.
[ 2 0 0 6 - 2 0 0 9 ] This is where Cindy was gaining momentum in her career. Then she got in Coffee Prince as Ko Eun-Sae, the second's lead sister. But she started to gain attention even just for a little bit. She worked many second lead roles and secondary characters. But her breakout role was in Boys Over Flowers as Kim Ga-Eul. Tired of being defeated, she almost reached the breaking point to just give up her career, but it was only until she watched an episode of Unnies Slam Dunk where her close friend, Min Hyorin, was trying to reach her dreams of becoming a girl group member. Of course, it seemed cheesy at the moment, but it gave Cindy the confidence and that it wasn't too late to kickstart her career once again. While feeliing this surge of optimism, she booked a ticket back to South Korea to chase her dream once again.
Little did she know, that it's going to be harder than the last time.

But that also made him want to help her at the same time. He and Cindy are working hard to get her in the same light she had before. But the longer that she waited, there was no call for her to come back. Her company at that time started hiring new actresses and actors to cover up the loss of Cindy Choi failing and it worked. Slowly, but surely, Cindy was fading from her once bright light. Cindy began to slowky fall down her pedestal where she kept herself.
Of course, her family encouraged her to come home, but she refused. Just like her company, she felt embarassed by her ambition and greed. It didn't help that many people in South Korea didn't really ponder her disappearence. As they also had big stars really making their mark in 2010 and onward.
After a year passed, her contract was terminated and she was left alone with a broken career. Cindy felt defeated and for once didn't know what she was going to do next. Scared.
Years staying in silence from the Korean's public eye she made remergence. After seeing her longtime friend, Min Hyorin reaching her dreams on Unnie's Slam Dunk, she felt the sudden confidence that she could start acting again. While she still had the adrenaline in her, she booked a ticket to South Korea, ready for another challenge.

What was your first impression about Starverse? she gripped the chair under her and let out a light sigh, but was loud enough for Jinki to hear "I was amazed that you signed such a big actress with the three months you opened. And I thought that Starverse is capable to do great things." She finished with her signature smile, but there was a slight twinge at the corner of her lip.
What do you hope for or expect to get by signing with Starverse? "A do-over." She said without thinking, but realizing what she said she straightened her back. "I know I could've had it all before I left for the States. Then when I didn't make it there, I experienced failure and embarassment for the first time. And I hid. After I've seen my friend getting a second chance for her dreams, I thought I can do it. If I sign with Starverse I can maybe not get a do-over, but just a simplre introduction." There was a bit of a pause as Jinki let her words process in his head before she opened again. "It's now or over." Despite keeping her head up and her smile, it didn't stop a simple tear run down her cheeks halfway before she wiped it away.
What does being a star or a celebrity mean to you? "Well there's seven billion in the world and more being born each day. Then there's a few million that get to be special. I want to be special. Others might say that it's narcisstic of me, but there's nothing wrong with wanting to leave a mark in the world."
Every star has its characteristic that makes them different. What makes you special amongst other talents? She tilted her head to the side to think about one. In the seven years in her hiatus, it was awhile being asked that question."What makes me special?" She repeated the question to herself. "Most people who fade away, find it easier to just fade. But here I am. I want another challenge and if I fail, if I did everything I could to try and be on top then I'm ready to give up. But right here, right now, I don't plan to. Even with the thought that failure is probable."
Here at Starverse, we open our arms to those with...a little rough patches in their career. Do you think you can respect each of their background whether they're younger or older? Another sigh left her lungs."Respect is something that everyone should give and expect back. As long as that's an established moral in Starverse I think I'm highly capable of doing so.
