Hi I need opinions

Yo guys it's me again

This is not something too serious

But something just popped into my mind

Which was something my friend asked me like ages ago

(Anyways)

So I have a character who's named Suhyo (Idk if you've all been acquainted with her or not but I have created a character named Suhyo)

And my username on this site is Suhyo

And he told me it's kind of weird to name a character after yourself

And after reflecting on it

It's kind of true? I mean it's pretty weird to have a character named after your username and you using that name, so it's sort of like self-inserting yourself into a story

But like obviously we are two different personas

So real question is should I change her name/my name? Both of us/them are kind of iconic, so I'm not too sure

But I've been reflecting on this for some time so

Any opinions :/

agreeing with the other comments that it's not weird so i dont think you should let it bug your mind too much! Suhyo is an iconic name DDDD:

Reamika is my character in games but it's still my username. Not weird at all.

If you want to use that as your character's name, you can. You're not restricted. You can use it or you don't have to. No one should tell you what to do for your writing. It's your story and character and it's up to you to make the decision.

To be honest, I've never heard of the name "Suhyo". I did some research and it's actually a very unique. Only been used 12 times as a child's name in Korea between 2008 to 2019. It's also a girl's name, which is the feeling I got as well. Just random information. You may ignore it haha.

Nah, keep them. Suhyo is a name you choose to present yourself as on here. It's important to you. And who gives a hoot if you use a character banned Suhyo, whether it's after yourself or not? Your character, your prerogative. If it really bothers you, change her. (Unless you're ready to make a new name for yourself.) But if it doesn't bother you that much, ignore them.
