FULL NAME myeong yidam (명이담).

the combo king is a nickname that was given to yidam within the hoenn contest circle after winning three consecutive competitions for his flawless combinations in the battle stages; rather than landing hits, his strategy was to decrease his opponent's points through creative combos that were not only aesthetically appealing but often took advantage of the other pokemon's attacks to create beautiful visuals. the alias sticks, and he's subsequently introduced as "hoenn's combo king" in the competitions succeeding.

PRINCE OF FAIRLEA

with his obvious talent, boyish good looks, and his lineup of adorable pokemon, yidam was automatically a favorite amongst teenage girls and became a common face on magazines, newspapers, and television following his win at the hoenn grand festival. it'd be a lie to say he didn't feel at least a bit smug when multiple television broadcasts dubbed him the "prince from fairlea town," but his popularity quickly overrides his actual abilities and the monicker eventually replaces the combo king as his label in the media.

generic nicknames yidam's frequently called include: damie (a derivative of his name that his parents fondly call him), myeong (not.. really a nickname, but his surname is unique so a lot of people refer to him by this instead of just yidam), and little demon (given to him by jungkook the first day they meet).
