"that sweatshirt you were looking for is in the blue tops section of my closet if you still want it!" - hyeyeon, to a roommate. hyeyeon is crazy organized, everything has it's place and she is hell-bent on keeping it that way. she has her closet color coded, must always have a copy of her schedule printed and also written in her personal planner, and is notorious in pledis for assigning "chores" in the dorms.

"i dont know how, but hyeyeon just convinced me to pick up dinner so I'll be back in like 20 minutes" - a fellow pledis trainee. so, hyeyeon can sweet talk her way into and out of almost anything and she can especially talk her fellow trainees into doing favors for her. she's good with her words and the other trainees will go to her if they're in need of a convincing performance.

"we need to revoke hyeyeon's 90's baby card because she just referenced LOL and not to ask what it was" - a young member. even though hyeyeon is only 25, she's considered old among the members. as the top end of the bunch is just about half her age and therefore she's considered ancient and unable to know anything modern, at least, according to the younger members. in reality, she's in touch with popular culture not only in korea, but also in china.

"if hyeyeon asked me to murder someone for the sake of the team, i'd probably do it before she even finished asking" - a very enthusiastic teammate. so according to the members, hyeyeon is one of the most charismatic and along with her eloquence, she is one of the most powerful yet innocent members. she can figure her way out of any problem. hyeyeon hardly ever tries to sway her members but she uses these skills on shows in order to sway favors her team's way.

"I honestly thought that hyeyeon hated me when i first joined the team, it wasn't until later when i found out she didn't" - a teammate. hyeyeon is veeeeeery antisocial and she doesn't go out of her way to talk to anyone new. although it's seen as rude, she will almost completely avoid people. it doesn't mean she hates you, you just have to make the first move to get to know her.

"ive almost had to force feed hyeyeon a good number of times because she didn't want to stop practicing until she was perfect" - a teammate. hyeyeon is so goddamn stubborn that sometimes she is unbearable, and her subbornness helps her with being eloquent because the other members will just give up until she gets what she wants. this also means that she wont stop practicing until she physically gets sick, which actually happens a lot more than anyone in the industry would deem healthy.

"i wouldn't be surprised if hyeyeon pulled out a balenciaga shirt for rehearsal" - a... jealous competitor. growing up in her wealthy background, hyeyeon is used to the very best clothes and the highest quality living situations. she absolutely hates living in the dorms and wishes she could move out, but her parents dont think its a good idea to sponsor the company, as people will think they chose hyeyeon for the money. anyways, whenever she's given anything not of the quality she's used to, she gets kinda upset, but she'll never throw a public tantrum

"if you need to know the truth directly, don't go to hyeyeon. she'll tell you what you want to hear and exactly when you want to hear it" - an enemy turned friend. hyeyeon is one of the most secretive people you'll ever meet, but most of her secret keeping is completely unintentional. she grew up in a household where she couldn't say anything even remotely out of line, she developed an advanced filter so she says what she thinks is the best for the situation.

in december 13, 1994, after 9 long hours in labor, a young korean girl was born in seoul, south korea. it wasn't long after her birth that she was named, and that alone had been a struggle for months. but once she was there, in her mother's arms, she knew the perfect name.
hyeyeon.
but alas, not long after hyeyeon was born another one arrived, her brother hyesung. the rascal he was (and still is) made hyeyeon quake in her expensive little booties. she was perfectly content for three years until he was born. although hyeyeon claimed to hate her little brother, she actually loved him... surprisingly. but at the humble age of 7, hyeyeon's father came home with another baby in his arms and another woman on his sleeve. 
hyejeong.
hyeyeon's mother moved out, to a smaller but still expensive estate on the other side of town and left her two children behind, with their father. the two siblings were extremely confused, why their mother could leave their house. soon they were to find out that the baby in the house wasn't one of them, but an intruder in the family. hyeyeon and hyesung's rooms were moved to the west wing, on the opposite side of the baby and their father.
she learned hate.
hyeyeon started school at the most expensive primary school in seoul, thanks to her father's wealth. in school hyeyeon did well, excelling in only 2 subjects; dance, and chinese. according to her father, that wasn't good enough. she needed to do a billion times better if she was going to become the head of the family business. she was told, "your sister is smarter than you."
she learned pain.
hyeyeon worked harder through elementary school, coming in 3rd in her class. behind kim wonhyung, heir to your fathers rivaling company, and xie yaxian, the chinese national who surpassed all of the korean students. her father was not only angry with her, but he was dissapointed. but most of all, hyeyeon was disappointed in herself. she knew that she could do better and she didn't want her fake sister to take her company.
she learned determination.
in middle school, hyeyeon worked and studied overtime, leaving school at 5 and heading straight to study school. when that closed at midnight, she would come home and study until 4 or 5 am. she would sleep until 6:30, shower then leave for school and classes would start at 8. this continued, hyeyeon hardly ever taking a day off. she only passed out like once a semester, it was toootally fine. she coped with the constant tiredness and finally became #1.
she learned exhaustion.
although her father wanted the best for her, what she was doing was not healthy. he made the descision to send her off, to the most pristigious school in china, the one that xie yaxian left. she quickly found that her former efforts in elementary school was more than enough to get ahead in her class rank, so of course she took the easy victory and slacked off. of course, it was harder to do so as she didn't have anything else to fill her time. she was in china, alone, with no one by her side except for the occasional phone calls home to hyesung. 
she learned loneliness. 
once again, the years went by (almost crawling by due to her lack of activity) and it wasn't until the last year that hyeyeon decided to join the school's dance class. of course throughout the years she was in required music and excersize classes, and always thought it came more easily than mathmatics or business, but she didn't bother giving it any mind as she was destined to become the heir to the family business. but now, alone in china with no one breathing down her neck, she was free. hyeyeon tried out and surprsingly made it into the honors dance team, with little to no experience. she was chosen for her aura when performing, she could make people feel emotions through her performances. over the year, she learned exponentially more than she ever had by studying until 4 am in her dark room. 
she learned to perform. 
at the end of her final year of high school, hyeyeon once again topped the class, graduating as the valedictorian and a leader of the honors dance team. she was on the top of the world, at least, momentarily. she applied to universities without her father knowing, and was accepted into hanyang university in the performance major. but she was also accepted into seoul national university in the business management major. 
she learned to make hard descisions. 
hyeyeon, against the wishes of her family, joined the performance program at hanyang. she attended the school for 3 years and graduated in 2017, more in love with the profession than ever. but of course, her father didn't allow it. she was all but excommunicated, her brother ordered not to speak to her due to her choices in life, but hyeyeon was okay with that. she got a job as a dance teacher in late 2018 and recieved an email from a particularly appreciative client.

and she became a trainee under pledis entertainment.

the two met through a long chain after hyeyeon joined pledis. first, the girls from pledis that were on produce 101 came to give advice to her and gaeun prior to produce 48. from there, nayoung and hyeyeon became friends and met a few former members of ioi, including mina and sejeong, who had brought along mimi. that's when mimi and hyeyeon became close friends, getting lunch together whenever they can to the point where dispatch "reveals" the two of them as the new years couple one year, but only as friends because the two of them have been spotted the most out of any other idols. they've never dated, and that is expressed very much so in their dispatch article.

since mimi and hongbin are the same age, the two of them are friends and eventually hyeyeon was invited along. hye became somewhat close to hongbin and the three of them hang out whenever they are all free. hongbin will also bring a member of his or another friend of his along and the four will go out as friends, never hiding their identities because they're not doing anything suspicious.

one time, shortly after the end of hye's run on produce 48, hongbin brought along taekwoon to an outing of theirs. hyeyeon and taekwoon became friends, their shyer demeaners bonding them while their other two friends were being noisy as frick. the two are romantically interested in the other, but aren't pursuing it all that much because hyeyeon is still a trainee and taekwoon is about to go into the military.

hyeyeon was "scouted" by pledis when she was working as a dance teacher. she had a student that joined pledis (one of the other trainees maybe?) and told the execs about hyeyeon. after pretty much saying " it," hyeyeon went through 3 rounds of auditions and was accepted. hyeyeon joined pledis in early 2018, a few months prior to the start of produce 48, immediately pairing with gauen to potentially compete on the program. she didn't have too much skill other than dance to begin with (nor does she still), but she still was accepted into the show. she finished at #26, eliminated just prior to the final episode. after the show, hyeyeon was placed in the trainee group, pledis wanting to use her produce popularity to help out the group. she hasn't trained very long, but she works hard and her visuals and popularity are what's keeping her around.
