- It's been a long day in the office for his CEO in training and Jonghyun could feel his eyes getting dry and blurry from staring at a screen all day. He glanced at the clock to find that it was nearing one in the morning, but there was still a couple of projects that he had to look over before showing it to his father. The young man had been in the office since eight am and only had an hour lunch to himself. He sighed and paused his typing in order to wipe away the weariness from his face. 'Only two more to go over and I'll be done. Let's finish strong, Jjong. Once you're done you can knock out for the night and next thing you know it'll be morning to have brunch with your best friends.' 

- "YAH! PARK JONGHYUN GET YOUR OVER HERE!" Jonghyun snickered to himself as he backed away from a pissed off Eunjae. The two had just finished choreographing a piece together and he noticed that his best friend was getting stressed. In order to liven up the atmosphere around him, he dumped the rest of his water bottle onto her. "C'mon liven up! At least now you can release your stress on me, right?" he retorted before sticking his tongue out at her and cheekily winking at her. The girl rolled her eyes with a smile on her face before throwing her towel at him. "You still have three seconds to run, Jjongie." He let out a laugh before saluting her and ran for his life. 

- "You guys are losers, why don't you want to go with me?" Jonghyun whined as he helplessly stared at his two best friends lazing around on his couch. He had found a new hiking trail that had a magnificent view and was dying to check it out with his two favorite people in the world. "Who is going to watch over Jihyo then?" Minjung asked. "We can just get my parents or Jae's parents to look after her. C'mon it's been a minute since we got to go on a new adventure together." 

- 'Is this the place?' he thought to himself as he eyed the cafe. Eunjae had been raving about this new cafe that popped up in their area and recently joined the team. She suggested he do the same since he was looking for work and today was the day he'd visit her and check out the place. Just as he was about to go in, a girl was about to enter as well. He gave her a soft smile before opening the door for her and gesturing her to go in first. "Oh, thank you. It's rare to see people, more specifically guys do this nowadays." Jonghyun chuckled and shrugged before saying, "I wouldn't want to let my mother down if she knew that I didn't open a door for a lady." The girl chuckled and said, "That makes sense, well I hope you have a wonderful day." He replied back before meeting eyes with Eunjae at the counter and smirked at her. The girl shook her head and laughed to herself as he made his way over to bother her.

- "You're so slow!" Minjung yelled at him as he bit his bottom lip and looked down. "Do you know why she's confused at the moment? It's because you don't even recognize the feelings you have for her and yet you're doing all these things for her while there is so much going on." He flinched under the heat that Minjung was putting on him for his actions towards their best friend and she sighed in frustration. "Take a good look at yourself and the actions you do for me and for her. Yeah we'll be there for each other, but everyone around us except you two can see the way that you look at her. You don't see her as a sibling Hyun, you look at her llike the way I used to look at Seunghyun." Jonghyun stilled for a moment as he processed Minjung's words and he finally looked up at her. "I...like her?" Minjung facepalmed and slapped the back of his head, "YES YOU DIPWAD. YOU LIKE LIKE HER."

- "HA! THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT!" Jonghyun exclaimed as his team won another point in Pictionary. It was one of those nights where the entire crew got together to bond and play games together. "Aren't you getting a little too excited there?" Hanyeon asked as she sat back on her chair and arched an eyebrow at him. Jonghyun shook his head and said, "You're just sad that you're losing to us." The others on the other team rolled their eyes while his teammates gave a hesitant laugh. He had been super pumped and hyped all night that even Eunjae couldn't calm him down and she shrugged whenever someone looked at her. "You guys can never beat me." he haughtily claimed before rubbing his hands together, "So who's next for the new round?" 

- "You're right, you'll totally reach that." Jonghyun replied as he concentrated on finishing the latte art. "Are you even being supportive right now?" Eunjae huffed as she added more pastries to the display case. "No yeah, I am. It's not like I'm trying to tell you that you're being unrealistic and overshooting your shot with him." he muttered back. Eunjae rolled her eyes and nudged him, which caused him to slightly messed up and he glared at her. She simply stuck her tongue out and said, "Okay I get where you're coming from, but sometimes your sarcasm can sting a little bit." Jonghyun blinked out of his reverie when she said that and he sheepishly smiled. "Oops sorry, it's been a rought week and didn't mean to take it out on you." 

- Jonghyun quietly kept to himself on his second day working at the cafe. He wasn't used to the new people around him yet and his way of coping was to just stay quiet and not mess up, only talk to people when necessary. He sighed as he saw a couple of others joking with each other and continued wiping down the cup and saucer he was currently working on. "Get out of your head, dummy." He jumped and turned around to see Eunjae casually tying her hair up with her apron on the counter next to her. "A couple of others are telling me that you've been standoffish and not the way that I described you. They're trustworthy people and I'm here if you need me to be the middle bridge, but that resting face you have on sometimes doesn't make you welcoming." He snorted as she stuck her tongue out at him and he said, "Give me a week and I'll make some more effort to be out there with everyone."

- "Is this the guy?" Jonghyun asked as one of his co-workers nodded. One of the girls on the crew had a guy that wouldn't stop bothering her and Jonghyun had grown close to her on their shifts together. He could feel his blood boiling as the guy constantly switched from looking at the menu to the girl and his grip on the counter tightened. "It's okay, Jonghyun-ssi. He can't do anything with all these people here." "But he's just standing there acting all cocky, it makes me just want to bust his face up." "Now we don't need to do that. If anything gets too serious, we'll handle it professionally alright?" Jonghyun looked behind him to find Minjun smiling at him. "I know you're coming from a good place, but this isn't your battle to fight." Minjin reminded him and Jonghyun nodded. "I still want to beat his face to a pulp if you'll let me." he muttered and the others laughed at his protective nature. 

- "I know you're just being rational, but can't you just support me?" Minjung asked as the three were sitting at the dining table. She had just come out to him and Eunjae that she was pregnant and Jonghyun needed Minjung to have a wakeup call. "I'm still just stating the truth that you need to face Jung-ah. Jae-ah and I have always been there for you, but this is the reality you need to deal with, mostly on your own. We warned you about Seunghyun, but did you listen to us? No, you didn't. I get it that the two of you were in love but now you're having his kid and he doesn't want to be in the picture. You need to be sure that you're prepared and all that I've previously said are just steps to make sure that you and the baby are safe." HIs heart was heavy looking at his best friend, who had a distraught look on her face, but her parents weren't in the picture and they were the only ones who could be there for her. Eunjae hasn't said her part but she was comforting the girl and he knew that he had to be the more harsh one between him and Eunjae because he knew that what Eunjae was going to say was going to hurt Minjung even more. He needed to make sure that those two's relationship wouldn't fall through either.

Park Jonghyun was born on April 30, 1997, and into a regular family with two older sisters. His father is the CEO of a clothing company that he started with his wife. His mother and eventually sisters run the fashion side of the company while his father always told him while growing up that he would someday take over the family business. His family is good friends with the Kim family because of the bond their parents formed within the neighborhood church community. It was during those times where he met his best friend, Kim Eunjae. Their families would go over to the Kims's restaurant after church and would spend so many afternoons together. The two were inseparable because of how close they were in age and his sisters were always off doing their own things. Her bright personality was what originally helped him get out of his shy shell. 

The two also went to school together and that's where the duo became a trio when Chae Minjung came into the picture. She was a transfer student and became seatmates with Eunjae. It took a while for Jonghyun to warm up to Minjung with her free-spirited nature, but eventually the three of them figured out the dynamics of their friendship. Eunjae was the mood maker, Minjung was the free spirit that did whatever she wanted, and Jonghyun was the mediator between the two girls whenever they got into childish fights. He's often the conscience of the three of them when doing things together, but also could be the instigator for their shenanigans whenever he felt like it. 

Jonghyun's passion for dance had been with him for as long as he could remember. His mother had put him into ballet lessons with his older sisters and he fell in love with the way he felt whenever he danced. He felt free and it was the only thing he was good at doing. Jonghyun was never a really big fan of soccer like his dad was, but there was something about watching his older sisters' dance recitals that got him so engaged and wished to be up there as well. From ballet, he transitioned into training in jazz and contemporary. He was the one that convinced Eunjae to take a hip-hop class with him because all the older kids said it was the most fun class and it definitely lived up to their expectations. The two stuck together in those hip-hop classes and eventually grew to be one of the best dancers in their studio. 

During his high school years, he and Eunjae's reputations were known to be a dynamic dancing duo. They both joined the school's dance team and as the years passed by, the two became captains of the team. During this time, the two began to collaborate and choreograph for the team's set. He found joy in choreographing and leading the team, but he could see that it was more of Eunjae's forte. He wanted to become known in the community for his dance style and passion on uplifting others and that's what he personally worked on while the two worked on making themselves known as Athena and Hades. 

He graduated with honors and a full-ride scholarship to Seoul National University with a double major in business and fashion. His family was proud of his accomplishments and as much as his father wanted him to stop dancing, the two found common ground that he could continue his dance career as long as he comes in and shadow his father twice a week for a full twelve hour shift. Jonghyun took what he could get in order to continue dancing and was a part-time student with three classes a week due to the hours from his father. He'd land a couple of gigs with Eunjae, but because he was already in a comfortable situation, he made sure that she got all of their commissions as much as she disliked it. He fills in her slot at 1Million whenever it collided with her shift at the cafe and is loved by their shared students.

Jonghyun wasn't an avid gamer like Eunjae was, but he was hooked onto Maplestory with her and Minjung for a while. The three of them would play and do party quests together as he preferred assassin type of jobs. He was the first one to stop playing amongst the three of them due to his responsibilities with his family, but he'd go on occasionally when he had the time. He's an ace in card games because it was what he would play with his older sisters on rainy days before technology took over. He also simply enjoys playing games because it's his stress reliever from everything and looks forward to spending time with some of his favorite people. 

Eunjae and Minjung were the ones that convinced him to apply for MP! The girls had their own separate circle of friends and they felt bad that Jonghyun always stuck to the two of them due to his quiet nature. They thought it would be a good idea for him to meet the people at the cafe because they'd be great additions in his life and Eunjae slipped his resume to Jikyung and Minjin to look over. Jonghyun went along with it because he knew that the girls were right and it would help get his mother's nagging of not having being a normal young adult and not having enough friends in his life to stop. It would get him out of his comfort zone and be a change of pace in his life.

"Auntie Jae! What's ? I heard Uncle Jonghyun talking about it to one of his friends we ran into when we went to go get ice cream." 

Chae Minjung is Jonghyun's instigator and guide when he sees life in such tunnel vision. All that he knows is what his parents have drilled into his head since he was a kid and she's the one that helps him loosen up and get in touch with his wild side. Although they heads all the time with clashing morals and ideas, they still give each other tough love. He returns the favor by keeping her in check and always checking in to make sure that everything is okay at home. 

Although she still has that youthful and spirited personality, her daughter Jihyo, is her motivation. From a reckless mistake made in her freshman year of university, the best blessing in her life came into the world. She refused to let the father into her daughter's life because he wouldn't own up to it, but will forever be thankful that she had Eunjae and Jonghyun by her side. She feels guilty for always leaving Jihyo with her best friends, but she has to do what she believes in right by working constantly, picking up multiple media jobs, in order to provide for her little angel. 

The trio can agree that Jihyo brings an innocent light into their lives. Whenever Jihyo is with them, she brings this energetic energy and helps them forget about their worries. Her innocent and playful charm melts their daily stress and worries. She's not afraid to try new things and the adults around her find it so amusing how she's curious about the world around her. Jihyo tends to venture off around by herself under adult supervision. She has this natural aura that has people naturally gravitate towards her and easily makes friends. Laughing and joking around with her favorite people is what she loves to do.

Cho Sungmin and Haru have been reoccuring figures in his life growing up on his family's side. They were the children of one of his father's closest advisors within Park Co. The three of them grew up together and knew what it was like to be under the pressure and expectations of the more socialite community their families were a part of. But thankfully, their parents knew how to raise them in a humble manner. 

The Cho siblings are the two people that Jonghyun knows he can go to at the end of the day when he thinks that no one will understand what it's like to have an entire company riding on your shoulders. Sungmin always knows how to play instigator and usually convinces Jonghyun to skip out on a meeting or two to go get coffee elsewhere. Haru is the more rational one that reassures him that what he's currently doing is fine and that he'll make a fine CEO. The siblings were also expected to take over their parents' roles in the business after they graduate. Sungmin is expected to be Jonghyun's right hand man while Haru takes over the fashion branch in co partnership with Jonghyun's sisters. He's thankful to have these two by his side when he can. Minjung and Eunjae will always be his favorite girls in his life, but the Cho Siblings are who he cherishes in the business world and will forever be grateful to have met these two.

Minjin was the person besides Eunjae that helped him adjust to his new surroundings at MP! Whenever he was at the store, the two would chit-chat about running their own businesses and give each other advice. He's also the first guy in his life that he's grown close to, so Jonghyun has this sort of admiration for the guy. He's glad that there's someone in his life that's actually a guy and have similar personality traits. The two of them often like to drink together when the girls get together and they finally have time to themselves. 

They're like brothers from another mother and end up being work out buddies because both of them have to keep up their looks for their reputations in their respective communities. Minjin is also the person that Jonghyun goes to for advice when he thinks the girls won't listen or understand his point of view. The two are also called the 'Forgetful Brothers' because they tend to forget things when they're absorbed in whatever they're doing.

He didn't know when it happened, but it did. 

When did her annoying remarks suddenly became endearing? When did he start realizing that she was more than a sibling figure to him? The quirks that he used to make fun of her for suddenly became cute to him and he suddenly found out that her presense is what always makes his day. 

Jonghyun groaned as he ruffled his hair in frustration. If only he had realized sooner and didn't need Minjung to literally beat some sense into him. He wouldn't be in this mess. The one person that matters the most to him is lost and confused from her predicament with her boyfriend and his actions are being more obivous towards her. He knew that his ill feelings towards her current boyfriend wasn't just out of suspicion from what he's seen, but it was actually because he had feelings for her. 

He was the one that was there seeing her hurt. 

He was the one that wanted to take the pain away. 

He was the one that has been beside her through thick and thin. 

He was the one that knew she liked her kimch jjigae extra spicy. 

He was the one that picked her up when the world pushed her down. 

He was the one that supported and was by herside for her dance career. 

He was the one that loved her from the start. 

Jonghyun knew his boundaries but with the looks of how things were going for Eunjae and Junhyung, Jonghyun could only watch from the distance and hope for the best. He hoped that she would realize what has been beside her all along. All he could do for the time being was be what he always was, her best friends.

He didn't expect her to show up to his place. It's been a couple of months since her breakup with Junhyung and she buried herself in work. She took a break from MP! to go on a dance tour around Korea and he hadn't seen her since she left. She looked matured, more beautiful than he remembered, and there was a different look in her eyes. 

"Hey." she said and he simply blinked at her, not believing that she was standing right in front of him. 

"H-Hey..." he managed to get out. 

"Are you going to let me in or...?" she asked in a teasing tone as she arched an eyebrow at him. 

"Oh yeah, come in, I didn't expect you to be here. I thought you wouldn't be back for another week?" 

She made herself at home as she walked towards his couch and plopped onto it, hugging a pillow in the process. He followed her and sat across from her and she shrugged and tilted her head to the side as she met eyes with him, 

"I missed home. I had enough of healing by myself and felt like I've been away from home for too long. I miss the shenanigans that the crew at MP would do every day. I miss seeing our goddaughter and local free spirited mother. But most of all, while I was away...your presence was the one I missed the most." 

His eyes softened as he listened to her and the beating of his heart quickened when he heard the last part. 

"Jae-ah..." he began but she held up her hand and he paused. 

"I was in a broken place the last time we talked and you conveyed how you felt about me. I didn't want to hurt you or the relationship we had so I kept you at a distance when I tried to fix things within my circle. I'm not going to lie, I had felt something for you during those times you helped me, like you always do. I didn't want do Junhyung dirty like that so we decided to stay friends, but that didn't sit right with me. When things were broken off, I didn't want you to think I was using you either so I cut everyone off. I was lost, broken, and confused about what I wanted to do with my life. It hurt like a not having you by my side whenever I taught or felt down, but I knew I had to do this for myself and us. But now that I'm back, I want you to know that I do have feelings for you, strong ones, even stronger compared to what I felt for Junhyung, but I don't know if I'm ready yet. I know I want to be with you, but I'm still healing." 

Jonghyun immediately went to her side and pulled her towards him, enveloping her into his arms. He could already hear her voice quivering and her eyes tearing up and he naturally wanted to comfort her. He was happy that she returned his feelings and he was willing to wait until she was ready because it was always her. She was the only person he wanted to be with. Looking down at the strong woman before him, he cupped her face and gently kissed her on the forehead. 

"No matter what happens, I will be here for you. I will wait for you until you're ready and we can take things slow. If you need help healing, I will be there for you, but we both know this is something that you need to overcome by yourself. I'm happy that I am the person that is in your heart, and I promise to love and take care of you to the best of my abilitiy." 

Eunjae smiled warmly and buried her face into the crook of his neck. "What did I do in my previious life to deserve you?" 

Jonghyun chuckled and hugged her tighter. "Well whatever you did, you deserve all of this and more." 

Slowly but surely their relationship blossoms into something beautiful. Their friends tease them for acting like a married couple because the two of them understand each other so well that they look like a well-oiled machine. They keep each other in check and support each other in their goals. The both of them plan on opening up a dance studio together to help neighborhood kids stay out of trouble. She eventually moves into his apartment and he helps her make ammends with her family. The only thing that everyone is waiting for is a proposal, but the two of them want to travel and take on the world together before seriously settling down to start a family.

last words Decided to actually throw Jonghyun into the character mix because why not? Not sure if that will complicate things with Eunjae's applications as well, but why not have the both of them create havoc at the cafe? Let me know if there's anything I need to change or add hehe ^^~

"I'm looking forward to working with you, as well as everyone else, and to share the love of coffee and games with everyone that comes in."
