no longer active

i’m no longer active on this site. message me if you’ve transferred me karma some years ago for a contest and i’ll return it to you. the contest has been deleted because it will not be active and i will not choose a winner. i’m sorry to anyone who’s upset by this but since i’ve been incapable of giving any results for like two years and have zero motivation for this, i see no point in continuing it in any way. please do not contact my friends to ask me to address this. just message me if you want your karma back i’ll gladly return it. thanks.

I did say that I forgive you but seeing the messages you replied to Mishtique left quite a bitter taste in my mouth and I needed to point some things out.

First: The contest wasn't three years ago, had it been, then at that time I would not be here on Aff at all to join it.

Second: We do care, we are a part of the contest, and although it wasn't our main priority, we did wait for you to update us. I told you; deleting it without notifying us was a bad move. It rendered us into thinking that you abandoned us without words, and although you said that you did 'inform us,' it's still throwing me off how none of us knew about it.

Third: You do not owe us an explanation-- a detailed one. You still owe us an apology though which you already did but saying that you do not need to explain anything is somewhat unreasonable. You created this contest, of course, you need to take responsibility instead of deleting it and leaving us clueless and seeking answers ourselves.

Fourth: Saying the contest is dumb is an indirect insult for all the hard work we put into this. As what Mishtique said, it's like you're discrediting all the time and effort we put into this, worse, it's as if you do not care. You're an author too; you should understand where our distress is coming from-- imagine working for someone and getting ghosted in the end. Yes, I love the story I got out of this contest but knowing that the other party doesn't care upsets me.

Lastly, you did not care enough to check out who donated and who joined the contest. You even assumed I was one of the people who gave karma points. As what I've said, although you had put this thing behind you already, that doesn't mean you forget your responsibilities. This thing isn't just a story you put on hiatus forever; this is a contest that involves a lot of people in it. People donated; they shouldn't be the one that needs to approach you when you decided to cancel this. You should've listed them, and returned the points without needing to be reminded. When you left without giving them back, it made us think you ran away with it. Don't get me wrong, but that's what an average person would feel when a person suddenly disappears with their money, right?

All in all, you've apologized, and I accept it. It's the truth; I do.

You might say that those messages weren't for me, but as a fellow contestant, when you pertained that this contest is something that should not be taken seriously; I knew I had to say something. I've worked hard for this, disregarding that is an insult to all of the brainstormings I did, chapters I've worked on, rereading I had to do several times to make sure there's one less mistake out of the way. And I know all the contestants feel the same way.

We worked hard for this contest, of course, no matter how long, be it two or nearly three years, we would wait because we care.

The thing that bothers me the most is that you aren´t taking it seriously enough.

I can understand that personal reasons have let you to be unable to update the contest which I respect, but how is it that you never thought about the others involved? I and the other contestants spent a lot of time working hard on our fanfictions only to see that it was for nothing because the contest got deleted without any word.

We could've understood if given an explanation and apology and everyone could have moved on without problem, but now we had to endure the silence from you only to see you disappear without a word and after that we had to message your a week on different platforms only to hear nothing until I messaged one of your friends, who is a dear btw, you should learn something from her.

Once I got into contact with you, your biggest concern wasn't the actual problem. Your biggest problem was me "bothering" your friends, which is wrong. I didn't bother them. I politely messaged them, explained the situation (which shows how you handle certain responsibility and the kind of person you are) and asked if they could possible notify you about this. I never forced them to do anything nor was I rude to them. Once I got a reply out of you I actually messaged all of them to apologize for taking up their time and thanked them, even if only 2 people read it.

Once we came to the point of the actual problem (that you find "strange" because it was three years ago and you can't understand what the problem is) you told me you do not own an explanation to anyone and that is really where you are wrong. You did owe us an explanation. We didn't need to know any details, that's your privacy, but you owed us an explanation so we knew what the situation was and so we could move on.

When I said it was disappointing to see you disregard our hard work like that you said you're not discrediting us because "you're a writer and an artist", but it doesn't seem like it. Why don't you treat us the way you would've wanted to be treated as a writer? We're all the same anyways.

In the end you did promise to give back the karma points to those who donated so I hope I can see that actually happen.

With kind regards and looking forward to your future actions,
Mishtique

You can actually check the donation from your pm or karma history because I remember you asked us to send you a message in pm to talk about the donation, but maybe you have a reason to not check them. I donated 2000 points and I'm attaching the screenshot proof here:

No, it's not three years ago hun it's not that long. you started it on mid 2017 i remember.

I'd prefer you to divide that 2k amount evenly to all the contestants who joined your contest, but seeing that you don't remember/take notes of the donator, I'm going to assume you don't remember/take notes about the contestants either. I have two friends who joined your contest, they're "Monfie" and "Mishtique". If it's not much of a trouble, I'd like to ask you to give each of them 1k points, or if it's too much you can send the points back to me and I'll do it myself.

The sad thing is you should have posted this on the contest page. I understand you can lost motivation due to personal reasons, but they've worked hard on their entries and maybe some of them are looking forward to this, so deleting it and assuming that nobody will remember about the contest isn't really a mature thing to do. Even if they don't remember, I don't think there's any harm in giving explanation especially knowing that you have taken some ppl's karma points with you. At this point, I start to think whether you're even planning to return them or at least apologize if someone didn't remind you about it lol and the way you replied to my friend's dm on instagram is really rude tbh

Anyway thank you for finally explaining and good luck :)
