APPEARANCE & style — The same as face claim. Bingqing looks cold same as her name. However, when she smiles, it is like spring coming as she has a set of the dimple. She quite short 165 with thin fragile body weight 45 kg. Bingqing has a tattoo of Spider lily on her back. Something that her family did to identify her. Her style normally very ladylike as she is the daughter of Prime Minister and must take care of her appearance. However, since she enters Jingyue, it becomes more casual. Bingqing is eloquent she born in a family of scholar makes her well educated. She read a lot of book and poem, learn a music instrument, embroidery, cooking and everything that need to be learned by the female. She has a great manner that can make everyone older smile at the sight of her. She is a hardworking person as nothing can be achieved with just talent. In Jingyue she has a hard time learning since she is ambidextrous and also direction dyslexia. She doesn’t have a hard time remembering, but thinking which right and left makes her head dizzy. Bingqing can’t lie; she is too honest to lie. When she tries to lie, she will bite her lips and twirl his hair making everyone know it. Quite playful as she likes to play around and do something fun. And this side of her what lead her into Jingyue. Just go around to looks at scenery without anyone following.

 

Biting is something that she likes to do especially when she angry. This aggressive side of her, after a verbal fight she will end up biting the other person. For her, her teeth are like another weapon. Anyone who fights with her know to not fight again since her biting is too harsh; can make their flesh fall down. That when she angry but most of the time she is a reserved lady. Born a daughter of Northern Xiang, makes her learn proper manner and how to act with a guy and maintain distance. Bingqing is an unpredictable person, what she will do never can be read by someone. In a second she might be learning martial arts and another second she will be in the library, reading,

 

Bingqing is childish and can whine sometimes. Being the youngest daughter and pampered by her parents makes like this. Thus she is also demanding. If she wants something, she must get it or she will become childish and whine all day until she gets that thing. But as per now, not many things that she wants as she has everything already. She is way meddlesome. Always poke into anything that for her fun and always want to know something. She not a gossiper but she loves to listen to them. She wants to join in almost everything. She never thinks about others or basically if she did, it rare. She is thoughtless. Never think much about something and just go ahead doing it. It also spots on people emotion. She can’t read the atmosphere at all.

- Reading. Bingqing likes to read and she read a lot of books. Her choosing her mentor is all based on this.

- Braids. She likes to braids her hair and does it when she free.

- Night sky. Bingqing likes to enjoy looking at the night sky. Sometimes she will bath in the moonlight. - Firefly. Being pampered, Bingqing never really leave her own house, especially at night. The first night she in Jingyue, Fenghuang brings her to the back of the mountain where she can see a firefly. With this, she always ended up smiling.

- Bath. Bingqing has a liking of taking a bath since her hate the smell of her body in sweat. She will at least bath two times per day. One in the morning and one before she goes to sleep. If she can, she will take shower in the afternoon too.

 

dislikes —

- Mannerless people. For her, the manner is important. She especially dislikes people who eat with sound and who eat too fast.

- Anything sour. Bingqing can’t handle sour stuff and will throw it away at sudden contact with her tongue.

- Being cold. Despite her name Bing, Bingqing can’t handle being cold. In winter she will wear a lot of layers to help her survive.

- Medicine. Bingqing is born healthy as a child and growing up. But learning under Jingyue can’t help that she ended up hurting sometimes. Thus she needs to apply the medicine or drink it. She hates the bitter taste and the pain of it. But when talked about getting a scar on her body, she clenches her teeth every single time.

 

TRIVIA —

- Ambidextrous. Bingqing born left handed. But in manner, using a left hand is bad. So she learns using her right hand and thus it makes her ambidextrous.

- Direction dyslexia. Bingqing can’t differentiate way at all. At the top, she barely and hardly differentiates right and left. Her being Ambidextrous added to this disaster. -

Bingqing can play Guzheng, Pipa and Erhu. She is better at Guzheng.

- When she lies, she will bite her bottom lips and twirl her hair. So Bingqing usually don’t lie since it easily seen.

- She good at embroidery and can embroider even complex picture. She even once embroiders complete clothing for her father birthday. All of her stuff got embroidery of the shape of snow.

- She can cook and it especially good that people wish for her to cook every day.

- She knows the ancient language and other languages since she read a lot.

 

Skills —

Jingyue teaches her to use a sword and thus, a sword is what Bingqing use. She is not that good at using sword since she is still new at learning and her ambidextrous plus direction dyslexia making it worse. With this, she learns hard and somehow better at memorizing the moves.

 

Except for the sword, Bingqing learns archery from Fenghuang. This is due to Bingqing always down as she doesn’t improve at learning. He told her “There no left or right in archery. Don’t mind which hand you use to hold your bow, you just need to aim at the right target” Learning from the best, she better at archery rather than her sword.

Ma Bingqing is the youngest daughter of the Prime Minister of Northern Xiang. Born in a family full of a scholar, in which two of her older brother wins the first place on examination. While her older sister married to the palace of Yan as a form of tribute since Northern Xiang doesn’t have any princess. Being the only daughter that stayed with her family, she pampered way too much and never leaves the town she lives in.

Bingqing listens well to her parent and fulfils her part as the only daughter available to serve them. But like others, she always wishes to see outside world far from the town she lives in. And she got her to wish when she 18 after begged her father and restraining from eating for a few days. That time, she allowed following her father to Yan Empire to send their tribute and also she can finally meet her older sister.

The journey takes a long time to finally reach the Yan Empire main capital. Along the way, they take a rest at a few places and Bingqing can finally see the world outside of her town. And along that way, the group took rest near the territory of Jingyue. This is due to their scared if Xuexing will attack them and if that happens they can seek help from Jingyue. This is their usual camping place but Bingqing doesn’t know that.

Facing new and beautiful place, Bingqing can’t help to wander around. It happens when she at another place and it happens here too. Talk about being lost in a foreign place when you just want to admire the landscape. This is how he comes to the entrance of The Valley of Jingyue. She stands in awe in front of the entrance before someone comes to her saying “At last. I thought you won’t be coming today” She completely doesn’t understand but the guy just brings her inside the Jingyue.

He introduces himself as Fenghuang and one of the students of Jingyue. He then explains more about Jingyue to Bingqing. He brings her to tour Jingyue and explain everything that he needs to a new student. At that time actually, Fenghuang thought that Bingqing is the new student that supposed to come. The one that his mentor specific on the letter. Fenghuang's mentor decide to bring a girl that he helped during his mission. The new student supposed to come yesterday but she never turns in and Fenghuang need to wait again until she comes under orders of his mentor.

Bingqing tries to explain that she, not the one that Fenghuang waiting for but that guy just doesn’t listen to her. He shows her to each mentor place and lastly when they enter Elder Jin place, she just awestruck. Completely interested with the books that Elder Jin possesses. Taking the hint Fenghuang thought Bingqing found the mentor that she needs and leave after introducing her to Elder Jin.

Bingqing not into martial arts but when Elder Jin says that she can read anything in his library and personal collection if she became his student, she completely agrees. Thus this leads her to become the student of Elder Jin. He teaches her a few moves on the first day that she needs to master before she can touch any book in the room. She diligently learns it and then shows her progress to Elder Jin. When she got the pass, she straight to the rack and takes a few books to read.

Bingqing who is completely forgotten of her purpose to Empire Yan didn’t come back to the camp and that worry her father. They search for her at nearby places but there no sign of her at all. Worried, the group quickly headed to the capital to report this matter to Consort Ma, Bingqing older sister. They think there a need for a search party since the place and mountain are large.

Two days Bingqing in Jingyue, forgetting everything as she deep into reading, the real student that supposed to learn under Jingyue comes along with Elder Tan who come back. This completely shock everyone since if the real one comes, then who is Bingqing? That’s when Bingqing remembers her group and explain everything to everyone. This later testified by Yulian who actually receive a letter from her father about the missing daughter of Northern Xiang’s prime minister and also Consort Ma younger sister. She who at first doesn’t figure out that Bingqing is the new student that turns out. But when things turn like this, she now knows it and sends a letter to her family stated she found Bingqing in Jingyue.

Bingqing’s father comes to meet her along with Consort Ma. He wants to bring her back but Bingqing decline since she began liking Jingyue and Elder Jin, her mentor. Elder Jin also thinks it a pity if Bingqing leaves since there hardly people who interested in books like him and she actually has talent in learning martial arts. She spoke of her intention to stay and her father completely stops her intention, thus she goes to her sister and Consort Ma helped her. With her sister help, she being able to stay at Jingyue and learn martial arts.

▪ He is Bingqing’s father and Prime Minister of Northern Xiang. His family has served the royal family for a long time. He is the one who never takes any bribes and always dedicated to Northern Xiang. He as father pampers Bingqing so much and won’t allow Bingqing to leave the town. One as his wife wishes and second he can’t bear to see her go. However, during the trip to present a tribute to Empire Yan, he can’t help to let Bingqing learn in Jingyue. He just can’t ignore his daughter request and even his eldest daughter helped and promises to take care of Bingqing.

 

▪ Wen [Ma] Huiyi | 46 | Mother | Caring, Dependable, Emotional

▪ She is Bingqing’s mother who always pampers her. She makes sure Bingqing learn every skill that needed to be a maiden. She has a hope for Bingqing to marry into Northern Xiang royal family as many daughters of Ma married to the palace. However, when she learned about Bingqing stay on Jingyue to learn, she almost wants to suicide. She lost his first daughter to Empire Yan and now the younger can’t stay with her too. To add to it, Bingqing at that moment is in a good age to marry and so does the prince. Learning under Jingyue that might take a long time will destroy Bingqing prospect.

▪ She is Bingqing’s older sister and she is a consort. Northern Xiang at that time doesn’t have princess which age suitable to be married to Empire Yan, thus she is chosen. At that time Fuqing is 18 years old while Bingqing is 8 years old. Fuqing doesn’t mind but she always misses her hometown and her family. Fuqing never says much about her longing but because of this, she always sent a letter to Bingqing. When Bingqing needs to learn under Jingyue, she a little bit happy since it quite close to her. She would invite Bingqing to the palace sometimes to meet her. [I don’t know if you prefer for her to have a child with the emperor or not. So, this is up to you]

▪ Bingqing chooses Elder Jin since he got a lot of collection of books that she hasn’t read yet and the temptation when he says she can read everything when she learns martial arts under him. She is one of the frequent visitors to Elder Jin private room. She will borrow books every day after she shows her improvement. This also makes her close with Elder Jin since Bingqing back in Northern Xiang got a lot of books that Elder Jin hasn’t read yet. They always share their view on something. Elder Jin is more into the immortal searching type of book while Bingqing, she prefers something unique that she never read before. Talk about someone to talk about something that he hardly shares. They will debate sometimes that will lead to a little fight over fact.

Their first meeting is when Bingqing stumble to the entrance of The Valley of Jingyue while Fenghuang waiting for the new student under order from his mentor. He at first really thinks that she is the new student but later he knows it is his mistake for not listening to what Bingqing said. But everything turns good since Bingqing stays at Jingyue.

 

Being someone who at wrong, he can’t help to watch over Bingqing. It’s not something he needs to do since they didn’t share the same mentor, but he did out of the known. He will help her learning and also cheer her when she homesick. He will bring her to the back of the mountain where they can see Firefly and also teach her archery. He isn’t supposed to do this but he just did it.

 

In this relationship, Bingqing thinks Fenghuang is someone she can rely on in this unknown place. Even though sometimes Fenghuang acted cold with her, there always time he good with her. A little part of Bingqing thinks Fenghuang as a brother since she never fell in love before. She just clueless about love thus this hurt Fenghuang a few times.
