PERSONALITY :

(+)  Curious, observant, enthusiastic, energetic, imaginative.

( - )   Indecisive, emotional, stubborn, rebellious, close-minded, tardy.

Daehwi is extremely curious. It starts with all matters like sciences (all), humanities, art and culture, politics, to end with religion and spirituality. And he try to see what he’ll be able to do with all that in the future as potentials and possibilities. Exploring, discovering, looking for clues, new ideas, concepts, projects… A never ending matter! He have a question, always. He’s unwilling to accept the world unexamined and unanalyzed. He commonly has really odd and interesting questions. Very deep ones too. If he knows you better and trust you not to judge him and then he'll unload his questions all over you. He really want to know, he’s not trolling you, he just care about you and try to find out who and what you are.

To satisfy his curiosity, he try to notice all of things, and to never miss a moment. He constantly observe the peoples reaction or behavior at good times as well as bad times. Say he’s on the bus. He’ll count how many people are on the bus. How many are men, how many are women? Young? Old? He’ll look at the street and know which streets he’s passing even when it's not near his stop. Is anyone on their phone? What are they talking about? Is anyone wearing a red shirt?

As he observe, forming new connections and ideas, he won’t hold his tongue, he’s excited about his findings, and share them with anyone who’ll listen. He have a lot of ideas, all the time, and being truly excited about each. Sometimes jumping from one idea to another without completing the first.

He have a little spark of madness. He constantly laughing, getting excited, maybe talking a bit too loud about something he like and occasionally drifting off. It looks like he has a “lightbulb” moment about once every 10 minutes, often with a suddenness that can surprise even their closest friends. Sometimes acting like a child whilst still being grounded and wise enough to have a real conversation. You’d think it’s suitable to describe him as a puppy.

Daehwi believes that whatever is going on in his mind is much more interesting than what’s going on in front of his nose. In his mind everything is funny. It looks like electricity, a nebula of thoughts with endless connections overlapping one another. Everything is connected and can spawn a new seemingly unrelated idea or thought and it is quite amusing but it also makes him laugh at inappropriate times while someone is talking. It also is prone to connecting everything people say to a song that has the same words and then that can make other connections. The best explanation is a mind explosion into a spiderweb of ideas and patterns.

Now to his downfall. He’s incredibly indecisive. He take in too much information with “what if” scenarios. He might be madly in love with you today but want nothing to do with you by tomorrow. Once a decision is made, he feel as if his prism of reality is shrinking. He can feel a temptation to delve into another possibility not because it’s better, but just because it’s new.

He can be hurt easily. He’s highly emotional and will react strongly to criticism. He will go into immediate meltdown if he feel slighted or if even a minor conflict arises. He feels like his emotion is always so strong, compared to everyone else . When things go wrong he tend to get overwhelmed and threw everything away instead of fixing it.

He is difficult to deal with. He strongly resist any form of change for which he isn't ready. He refuse to back down just because other says he’s not good enough for a particular position, because, deep down he have enough beleif in himself. He’s willing to hustle the extra mile to do things that actually make him happy.

Daehwi is a rebellious person. Very fiercely so. And he have a huge problem with authority. He doesn’t want others telling him what he should do. He have his own mind and feelings, he do whatever he want to do, and whenever he want to. If he doesn’t find things to be logical or his conscience doesn’t agree and he is being forced to obey those things, he will surely not obey those. He always wants to find out the logic behind any kind of set rules and never abides by it if he thinks it goes against his values. He hate the feeling of others controlling him.

Daehwi maintains beliefs that benefit himself. Internally, it feels like this: “What's coming from this person goes against what I want. So I attack and reject their words, and that way keep the belief that benefits me”. He take this tendency as a positive pride, which he'd probably label as having strong opinions, having faith, knowing his own mind, etc. But Daehwi call himself open-minded because he want to appear like one but he doesn't actually try to be.

He has horrible punctuality (e.g. arrives 20 minutes after the bell has rung). His knack for running behind has caused him to be known as "the late one" in his friend group, show up to school under-prepared. Sometimes he blame the subways/buses, but even when he drove everywhere, you could count on hime to arrive 10 to 15 minutes late. It's not that he like this feeling. He’s certain his anxiety knowing his friends are waiting for him, or the unwarranted grudge he feel toward others when he’s trying to rush through them, isn't healthy.

BACKGROUND

Daehwi used to jump around the globe due to his parents job. Both of his parents ware scientist, and their work demanded of them to travel around the world. Daehwi couldn't clearly remember how long he lived in each country, because everything he did so far was drowning himself with books that his brother always brought for him. His older brother, Daehyun, knew very well that Daehwi really love to read books, so he would buy one book every two weeks for him. His parents were always busy with this and that project, more often in the laboratory than at home. So it was only Daehwi and Daehyun at home. It wasn't like they were rich enough to hire a housekeeper. Luckily Daehyun really like to do homework, so their house was always clean and neat.

Daehwi never really had friends. It takes a long time to adjust to new people, new cultures, and new languages. And when he finally was able to adapt, they had to move again and leave all his efforts with zero results, thanks to his parents job.

Dahwi was in his sophomore of high school when Daehyun finally decided to go to college in Busan, South Korea, Daehwi was begging his parents so he could move to Busan with his brother. He grew up relying on his brother, so he doesn't know what to do if his brother lived apart from him. Besides, he doesn't need to learn a new language because it is their home country. Although there will be a slight difference in the dialect, it was no problem compared to having to learn a whole new language.

Daehwi finally moved to Moon High, which was located not far from Daehyun's apartment. There, Daehwi had better days than he had expected, even though he had to repeat one semester. One of his classmates named Jisoo helped him a lot. He quickly became friend with him, and became the only person who admire his experience of living in several countries.

And finally, the new school year began. Daehwi was so excited because it was his last year at Moon High. He had thought about how to make his last year fun, but found NO solution. Or maybe he had found it, when a yellow flyer suddenly flew towards him and landed on his face in a strange way. It was a notification of recruitment of new members for Ghost Club. A sarcastic smile escaped his lips when he saw the Club's name. Seriously? Does this club still exist? But then came a crazy idea into his head. During this time he was so curious about why students in their schools believed in things that did not make sense. There can't be such a thing in this world, right? So, Daehwi decided to enter the club, with the aim of helping the students in the club not to get lost with their stupid thoughts and immediately return to their senses. How wrong he was, because what happened after he entered the club was all the things he had never wanted to believe.

The Important People!

CONNECTIONS :

PARENTS : Song Daekwan & Jeon Haerim | Scientist | INTP (Father) & ISTJ (Mother) | 6/10
[FC: Sung Dong-il & Lee Il-hwa]

Daehwi is not so close to his parents. It's hard to meet them, even in the weekends. Even when they were at home, they will be busy talking on the phone. Their work requires them to travel around the world, which Daehwi hates to no end. It's not like they aren’t care for him, but job is ... job. There's nothing they can do.

☞ OLDER BROTHER : Song Daehyun | University Student | ESTJ | 9.8/10
[FC: Monsta X's Kihyun]

Daehyun cares great deal for his younger brother, who look up to him in return. The two share a close bond yet they are vastly different in the sense of personality and appearance. Since their parents always busy with works, it was only the two of them at home. Daehyun is extremely overprotective over Daehwi, that sometimes Daehwi think he’s his father – no, calls him mother is more suitable.

BEST FRIEND : Baek Jisoo | Moon High's 4th Year Student | ISTP | 9.6/10
[FC: VAV's Ayno]

Jisoo is the closest friend to Daehwi as vice versa, their friendship started off due to common interests and fondness of Jisoo's innocence. The two of them became friends at Daehwi's first month at Moon High, since Daehwi couldn't get a full grasp of the Busan dialect and Jisoo decided to help him. Daehwi still asks for help on what he doesn't understand about Busan dialect until now. Jisoo loves the fact that Daehwi had been living in various country. He low key wished that he could live abroad even just for a month or so.

CLASSMATE : Lee Sanghyuk | Moon High's 4th Year Student | ENFJ | 4/10
[FC: SF9's Chani]

These two are on neutral terms, not much happens. Even though they are in the same class, they only talk as needed. It's not like Daehwi hates him or he hates Daehwi. It's just like, they mind their own business and wishes not to get involved with each other, yet joining the club with Sanghyuk as the member would completely ruin that wish.
