Guys I really need a suggestion.

I wrote a fic about Jonghyun about his passing. Because I was left heart broken about it but then A reader told me that it was still triggering her.

Will I delete the fic? I'm scared I might hurt them :'(

Thanks

It’s actually making me sad that you deleted the fic. I loved Jonghyun with everything I had, I loved him as the older brother I never got and I can’t explain in words how stunned I was by his death. It left me completely open and vulnerable to the world.
But this - deleting a fic - is so wrong. It’s so wrong. We heal at different paces. We heal differently too. It’s never “too early” to write about him. Never.
Whether you want it published or not is your decision but this whole “the fandom is too fragile”. I assure you, we’re not. If there is anything SHINee World are, it’s strong.

Do what you find right but don’t put some limit on writing about Jonghyun. Write about Jonghyun all you want. Honor him by mentioning him. Don’t silence his existence.

I can’t believe people tell you to delete your fics! That is absurd!
I’m a shawol. Losing Jonghyun was horrible and it hurt a lot of us. You coped by writing a story about his passing. Others did too. I know others who did too.
People who are triggered shouldn’t be reading stories about his passing. I completely understand we need to take a different pace recovering and i am no way saying it’s wrong to be affected still.
But the absolutely only thing you should be doing is writing a disclaimer that this story is about his passing.

If, at some point, you find it too personal or no longer wants it published it should be your decision and it should be coming from your heart. Not because a reader is triggered.
