SANG AHRA

KRISSYPRYDE — KRIS — 6-8/10

are you listening?

name — Sang Ahra

nickname(s) —
- Miss Sang/Miss Ahra; an honorific that Ahra hears often from family bodyguards and butlers. Since her 'house arrest' after becoming pregnant, she hears this in excess.
- Ahrang; a cute name her parents and sibling used to call her when she was younger. Now if they call her this, and it is rare, it is meant in an insulting tone.

birthday & age — 05.16.1997 + 20

birthplace & hometown — Seoul, South Korea & Seoul, South Korea

ethnicity — Korean

language(s)Korean; Native & English; Fluent
- Most of Ahra's family members know English because their profession requires it in the case that they need to speak to international investors and collaborators. Ahra learned English in an attempt to show her family that she was capable of taking part in the family business.

face claim & backup — IU +  Jennie (Black Pink)

WELCOME TO MY WORLD.

personality
Positive; Social, Decisive, Ambitious, Work-oriented, Intelligent
Negative; Aggressive, Haughty, Domineering, Wasteful, Emotional
- Ahra is easily the most sociable person around tow– er...the island. Any good chaebol has to have those communication skills to get them through board meetings and navigating the high stakes community of the elite. While Ahra was never directly involved with her parent's company, she still took it upon herself to become as conversational as her siblings.
- However, whenever speaking to Ahra, one can immediately note how haughty she is. Miss Sang never misses a chance to put down other people. She brags about her own wealth and rarely ever shows respect to those she interacts with.
- She is also very wasteful; why be conservative when you have enough money to buy things at any price tag? She tends to discard things and people without a second thought and rarely recycles or reuses.
- Ahra is a domineering figure. In group projects at school she would always assert her will over others, forcing them to do whatever she deemed necessary.
- If not, she would have gotten aggressive. Of course, fist fights aren't a thing for chaebols. Her words are harsh and cutting, eternally able to provoke those around her.
- It does help, that Ahra is very decisive. While others worry about making the right choice, Ahra just does whatever needs to be done. "No use in dillydallying. Just rip the band aid off"
- Recently, though, her firm nature in decision-making has been compromised due to her pregnancy. The hormones within her body has been making her very emotional. This is why she struggled to choose a family for her baby in the first place. However, when Ahra's head is clear, she is able to make critical decisions. This is not to say that Ahra is not emotional in other situations, though. For example, the night she got pregnant, Ahra was not thinking logically. She wanted her parents' attention and crafted a solution out of anger, not objectivity.
- Ahra is also very ambitious. When she knows what she wants, she will stop at nothing to get it. Before her pregnancy, she was creating her path to win her parents favor and no one would have been able to stop her if she had not stopped herself first.
- Ahra graduated with honors from high school; a testament to her work-oriented ethic. She is able to focus on certain tasks without being distracted. Sure, she was helped by tons of extra classes and spec boosts, but she still sat home every night and studied her off.
- Therefore, she can be thought of as intelligent as well. Academically, Ahra knows anything and everything that was taught to her in high school and can put this information to good use.

STRENGTHS —
Construction; her parents and siblings have all found a way to balance structual engineering and business studies. Ahra intended to do the same in college.
Knowledgable about Flora and Fauna; while Ahra chose to write Physics 2 and Economics for the College Entrance Exams, she excelled at Biology too. This, coupled with frequent vacations to foreign countries (expecially those with an excess of wilderness), makes it easy for Ahra to pick out the best things to hunt and the most poisonous plants.
Leadership...in a way; right, well, she's definitely not the luminary everyone's been hoping for, but Ahra's decisive nature can help her make some tough calls. Her ambitious and dominnering attitude makes her speak up in awkward situations and splitting up tasks for everyone is easy for her to do especially if she's ordering them around. She's definitely not fit to be the actual 'leader' of the group, though.
- Survival Instinct; see alternative name - Mother's Instinct. Ahra will do anything to protect herself and her child. As she begins to get closer to the other survivors, this will extend to them too.
- Negotiation; a fight brewing between two groups of survivors? a mysterious group of people on the island have taken a survivor hostage? someone about to make a downright decision? Ahra's your girl.

WEAKNESSes —
- Physical Activity; thankfully, Ahra's days of morning sickness and fatigue are over as she is in the second trimester of her pregnancy. However, she is very careful around the island and does not want to endanger the baby's life. When she begins the third trimester, the headaches and backaches that she is experiencing at the time of the crash will intensify and the fatigue will return with shortness of breath. Therefore, intensive physical activity is completely ruled out for her.
- Teamwork
- Prioritizes her life above everyone elses
- Dependent; due to the pregnancy
Hedonistic

plotlineThe Pregnant Chaebol - Ahra had the life that every person envied. She's rich, desireable and unbothered by life's troubles. However, one misstep made her fall from grace. Her funding - ahem - mummy and daddy are not so thrilled that their only daughter has gotten herself pregnant.

I'M FLYING, BUT FALLING AT THE SAME TIME.

background —
Jetting away on a whim is nothing new for Sang Ahra. Of course, she would always be accompanied by an adult on all occasions, whether it be a parent or bodyguard. This is the first time that Ahra has boarded a plane alone and while she can't say she is a nervous flier, she is filled with more anxiety than usual. So why is the seemingly perfect Miss Sang boarding a flight to Australia without her family knowing?

She was born in May, at the end of spring. Being the last child to her parents, Ahra's early years were much more relaxed than her siblings' who faced immense pressure as they were to take over the family's booming construction business, Sang Structural Coorperation. This attitude bled into her teenage years and Ahra was left to carry out anything her heart desired, helpfully funded by the Sang family's colossal bank account. The family's attitude towards her was indifferent; they wanted her to grow up quietly and cause as little problems as possible. Giving Ahra access to everything she could ever dream of needing was the family's way of casting her aside so the adults could deal with the real work.

However, this action did not create a quiet, mature young woman. Au contraire, Sang Ahra became a vile, merciless maiden. She had everything at her fingertips, so why treat others with respect? Ahra struggled to find a reason to do so. She looked down on anyone who had less than her, which was a considerable amount of people. Walking over anyone in her way, Ahra sailed her way to the top of every social food chain, using the economic power that she had to rain hell on anyone who dared to tell her what to do.

It was like this in middle school and it was like this in high school. Thousands of dollars in extra lessons saw her way to the number one spot in her year and a few sly payments to the school board gave her those undeserved competition wins that she would need for an exceptional university application. Ahra knew the exact words to say to get anything from her parents and in turn, her parents played the system expertly. And of course, this young impressionable girl learned from seeing her parents do and took over for herself in the later years of high school.

Though, while Ahra got all her materialistic wants met by her parents, they never gave her any basic love; always too busy with that damn company and her damn siblings. She wanted attention. And Ahra was a rookie at not getting what she wanted.

It happened when she was nineteen. She was freshly graduated from high school and the Sang family were hosting one of those galas to attract investors. Ahra was livid. Maybe it was hormones or maybe she was just that annoyed. It would make sense for her parents to focus on investors and hype up their children who were a part of the business, wouldn't it? Ahra did not seem to get it. In an effort to gain her parents' attention, Ahra planned to get completely wasted and cause a scene. She accomplished the first part of that plan but was sidetracked by a familiar face. Park Hyungsik was his name and he was her ex-boyfriend. One thing led to another and they ended up in a hotel room, and making love.

Three weeks later, amidst inconvenient nausea, Ahra missed her period. She frantically took multiple pregnancy tests to confirm the news. She thought about hiding it from her parents, but she absolutely could not. After telling them, they immediately phoned up adoption centers and Hyungsik's family. The other party agreed that the baby should be given up for adoption too, under the condition that the chosen family was far far away.

Over the next few months, Ahra was given lists and lists of families located all around the world to choose from. Her parents were being quite accommodating about this situation, other than the fact that she was permanently disgraced in their eyes. She had given up university so no one would know that she tarnished the family name and was stuck inside her home where she could no longer exact her power over others; probably the only thing that made her happy. She was going crazy. She could not even choose a family to give the child to as she was willowing in self-pity. Twenty four weeks into the pregnancy, her parents began pressuring her to choose a family. The pressure was so substantial that Ahra could not take it anymore.

She packed some essential belongings – three suitcases of it – as quickly as she could and took off to the airport. There, she did not know what to do and scurried the airport for ideas on places she could run away to. Stopping over at the Korean Air desks, Ahra noticed Australia on the departure board. One of the families that always caught her eye was from Australia. They were rich, of course, and owned many companies.

So on a whim, Sang Ahra demanded a standby seat on the flight, paying extra for first class. She boarded the airbus, afraid. Afraid of her parents, afraid of giving birth and afraid of the child slowing growing inside her.

family —

Sang Kyungmo | 50  | Father

▪ Light conversation over dinner. Nods to each other in the morning. Standing next to each other at galas without a word. Ahra did not interact much with her father before the pregnancy. He was practically absent from her life, not even making time to read her report cards. Too busy focusing on his two heirs, she supposed. After the pregnancy was confirmed, nothing much changed. The only stark difference was that Kyungmo seemed to avoid coming to the dinner table at all.

Kim Yumi | 52  | Mother

▪ She was ever-present in Ahra's life. From helping her win favor with the teachers to telling her what to eat, Yumi tried to help her daughter get a foot in life. However, she never once suggested that Ahra could become a part of the family business, which was all Ahra really wanted. After the pregnancy, Yumi became just as distant as Kyungmo, leaving the caretaking to the maids. She only visited her daughter to ask if she had chosen a family yet.

Sang Joon | 27  | Older Brother

▪ Ahra can't remember the last time she saw him around the house. He had his own luxury apartment and lived there for as long as she can remember. Whenever the entire family got together, he never interacted with Ahra.

Sang Jung | 25  | Older Brother

▪ Jung was more present in Ahra's life and took care of her when she was young. As he entered the business, however, he stopped paying attention to her so he could focus on his career and pleasing their parents.

friends —

Go Eunji and Han Yina | 20 | Friends

▪ Their friendship is in no way sincere. They just bonded with like-minded rich people in high school and stayed in contact after graduation. Neither of them know that Ahra is pregnant.

Park Hyung-sik | 22 | Ex-boyfriend and Father of her child

▪ Ahra dated him while she was in her first year of high school and he was in his last. She thought they were in love, but as she got used to the workings of elite chaebol life, she realised he was just dating her for her family's success. She broke up with him after that. They were both drunk on the night that they had , though he was just as disoriented as her. Ahra's opinion of him sunk even lower when he said that he wanted to give up the child without hesitation.

Kim Mae-rong | 42 | Maid

▪ Mae-rong is the maid who took care of Ahra when she was confined to the house during her pregnancy. In that time, Mae-rong acted like Ahra's mother more than Yumi was.

FIND ME AND SAVE ME.

love interest — Park Jinyoung

backup  — Im Jaebum

personality — Jinyoung is the epitome of selfless maturity. He is reserved, intellectual and has an open mind towards all people. He is fiercely protective of the ones he holds dear and cares for them in an almost-motherly way. He is meticulous to the point of perfectionism and is dependable on all fronts. His quiet nature makes him observant and his sincere kindness can be misinterpreted by many as loving affection. He is quite humble and very shy, although when he warms up to others he becomes extroverted around them. However, Jinyoung tends to take things a bit too personally and represses his feelings to the point that when he reaches the breaking point, he will explode. He may also be too altruistic, putting others before himself in dire situation.

relationship  — Jinyoung will want to meet Ahra after the crash as he saw her in the plane in first class and noted that she was pregnant. He is immediately turned off by her attitude and will want to distance himself from her. However, upon meeting her the first time, he promises her that he will take care of her and Park Jinyoung breaks no promises. He sticks with her at first, catering to her every need (a lot of needs) until he can't take her personality anymore. He stops hanging around her until he realizes that he actually misses having someone to banter with that is not one of his fellow members. He ends up sticking by her side after that, supporting her, relaying her ideas on shelter construction and survival tasks to the rest of the survivors in a kinder manner and trying to urge her to become a better person. He is also of the opinion that Ahra should keep her baby, but does not force his thoughts on her. Their interactions are mostly banter. After he comes around the second time, Ahra realizes that she enjoys his company and tries to act in a more humane manner so that he will stick around. Jinyoung realises that he likes her after she faints from exhaustion and he frantically tries to revive her.

Oh, and she falls for him first >:)

my final transmission.

comments/QUEstions —
- Er, sorry about the extensive bio. I hope none of it is confusing :( I also hope the yellow does not hurt your eyes lmao
- For the love interest, I didn't give a concrete ending to Ahra's relationship with Jinyoung; only that they acknowledge their feelings for each other. If you'd like me to write more, please say :)
- Oh and why does Ahra seem to value the baby's life when she does not care about anyone else? There's a whole conversation to be had about how after she got pregnant she started to see the consequences of her bad treatment of other people and how she ever so slightly gains a bit of morality, but I just thought all of that would clog up the personality section idk

scene requestS —
• Well firstly, I'd like Ahra to not be defined by her pregnancy. It's an issue that I had with Claire from Lost in which she was just 'that pregnant chick' and all her storylines up until she gave birth revoled around her pregnancy. This is why I gave Ahra such a provocative personality so her interactions with the other survivors can be more than just them caring for her.
• As for the baby, I would prefer if she were to live. However, if you think that a miscarriage can advance the story, I would not mind that happening. If the baby does survive, I would like her to be named Sun. Though if any of you have any better names, I'm totally up for that too.

• At the time of the plane crash, Ahra is all in favor of giving the baby up for adoption. However, I would like her to develop a love for the baby and by the rescue (if there is a rescue :o), I would want her to demand that she keep the baby.
• Also Ahra slowly becoming closer to the survivors and changing from her current personality to a caring, loving person.
• High. Stakes. Lots of near deaths and hostile situations.
• Island dance party fueled by a Got7 member's beatboxing.

• Better yet, island rap battle!
