APPERANCE : With tan skin and an intimidating height, Jiyeon is deemed unapprochable. Standing at 5'7", Jiyeon is past the average height of a woman. She seems taller, though. Maybe that has something to do with her aura. Athletes have this proud way of walking, y'know. Coupled with a lovely height for volleyball, people near her feel as if she's past six feet. Her skin color may have once irritated her, but after joining a sport where people become attached to somewhat hurtful nicknames at the speed of light, Jiyeon learned to ignore it. Volleyball does require some sort of muscle, so Jiyeon has her fair share of it, but her position as setter requires a quick mind rather than a strong punch. Due to this, the muscles of Jiyeon's upper body are not as impressive as her teammates' but her thighs could make even Uee envious. That is, if Uee watched the Inter-High School Volleyball Playoffs. Black hair falls around her shoulders in annoying waves and Jiyeon tries oh so hard to tame it into a pony tail. It may be attractive to others, but what good is hair when it keeps getting into your face as you're about to pass the ball to the spiker? Overall, Jiyeon is considered to be quite the unattainable beauty, but she ignores the stares in favor of compliments about her skills on the court.
STYLE : As an athlete very invested in her craft, Jiyeon barely has time to go out and develop her own personal style. As a high school student, she tries to abide by all the uniform rules, but, like most people, Jiyeon would rather be comfortable. She usually walks around without her jacket on and refuses to put it back on unless she is caught by a teacher. Jiyeon is a third year looking to get a scholarship and join a college team right after she graduates, so most of her time is spent in the school's gym. Her 'personal style' at this point consists of black track pants, a black jacket and a white t shirt underneath; the school's official Phys. Ed. uniform. Whenever Jiyeon's teammates coax her into a girls' night out, she would dress simply. A hoodie, some skinny jeans and a pair of Vans would cut it for her. As aforementioned, Jiyeon hair is always an untameable mess when out of the ponytail, so she always keeps it tied up, both on the court and off.

Jiyeon's greatest weakness is her lack of initiative. She does not act without being told what to do. This comes from her fear of failure. She simply cannot act on impulse because she does not want to embarrass herself or others around her.

Jiyeon is intensely aware of her surroundings and can pick up on little changes that can cause problems or provide a solution. She is not academically intelligent, but her strategic nature can give her the knowledge that she needs to triumph over a situation.
TIMELINE :
Jiyeon's childhood was average. When she enrolled in junior high, she joined the school's volleyball team because it was the only thing that seemed interesting and she deduced that her height would help her. She ended up falling in love with it and enrolled in a high school that had volleyball as an extracurricular. Her dream is to join South Korea's volleyball team as well as a club team outside of South Korea. Her parents, while weary, support her.

When Jiyeon has a goal in her head, it is easy for her to carve a marked pathway to that goal. She can make the most of the least and create endings that most people cannot fathom. She can assess a situation and pick out people's weaknesses and strengths just by observing. When she attains this information, she can use it to her advantage.
However, Jiyeon cannot act on her own. Jiyeon has a strong fear of failure and embarrassment. She will not act on her own unless she has all the information to act accurately. Jiyeon also prefers to not be alone when in troublesome situations. If she is with another person, her brain ticks to find ways out, but she won't say her solutions out loud because she is afraid that her partner would wave her off and dismiss her ideas.
Before becoming trapped in this nightmare, Jiyeon's goal was simple; play volleyball. She spoke to her coach (and asked too many questions) about her future in volleyball and used his words every time she practiced. After every school day, Jiyeon would stay back in the gym and work on her setting skills. Even on weekends when the rest of the team were taking a break, Jiyeon was standing in front of her net, perfecting her craft. Her passion for the sport and her goal knows no limits.
Jiyeon barely speaks. It is hard to hold a conversation with her, because she is very protective of her secrets, her secrets being everything that goes on in her life. They are not actual secrets, but Jiyeon treats them as such. However, when Jiyeon does speak, she rarely has a filter on. She will say whatever is on her mind at the moment, usually in clipped sentences. This does not extend to making actions that will impact a situation, though. She is blunt in causal conversation with other people, making her seem insensitive.
TRIVIA :
° Jiyeon is known as the best setter in Pohye and she is in the top ten high school setters in South Korea.
° While the Aces of teams are usually spikers, the ones who hit the balls over the net, Jiyeon is considered the Ace of her team as her sets are perfectly adapted to each spiker.
° Jiyeon asks one too many questions. This sprouts from her fear of failure. When she was about to set foot onto a volleyball court for the first time, Jiyeon asked her coach countless questions down to how she had to stand.
° Hanyang University offered Jiyeon a scholarship and a spot on their volleyball team. She hasn't had a chance to accept or deny.
° Jiyeon loves listening to artists like Epik High and Zion T. while she practices.

WHY DID YOU KILL YOUR FAMILY? :
Jiyeon stares at the officer asking her the question. She opens and closes a few times, trying to form the perfect answer so she won't have to stumble through her response. The officer does not appreciate her hesitation, it seems, as he asks the question again and forcefully. "I...what are you...what are you saying...I would never...no...I didn't kill them. Why...why would you think that?" My family is dead.
DID YOU HATE THEM, YOUR FAMILY? :
Jiyeon furrows her brows. These questions don't seem right. Why are they treating me like I'm the murderer? Her mind asks a million questions a second, but she knows that she won't be able to get a direct answer this time. Trying to conceal her shaking hands by balling them into fists, Jiyeon replies, "No. I loved them...a lot. Why...why are you asking me these questions? I didn't kill them...really." The officer narrows his eyes and does not respond. My family is dead.
DID YOU AND MIN JAEHYUNG PLAN THIS? :
"Min...Min Jaehyun? Jae...Jaehyung? No...no...I've never spoken to him in my life," Jiyeon recalls seeing the boy around school. She had never interacted with him once. All she knew was that he had intelligence to boot. "Plan what? What are you...you mean if we planned the murder of my parents...No...no." Oh God, they think I killed my parents. What the . Jiyeon's eyes fix on a dent in the table before her and she focuses on that for the rest of the conversation interrogation. My family...they're gone.
ARE YOU FRIENDS WITH THE OTHER SUSPECTS? :
"I...I don't know who the other suspects are. I don't even have friends...no, wait...my friends are on my volleyball team...are they the suspects? Why would they kill my parents?" Jiyeon's voice drops a little as she keeps staring at the dent. The words come easily to her as she is calm now, but she is still confused. Her hands still quake under the table. My family...
WHERE WERE YOU WHILE YOUR FAMILY WAS MURDERED? :
Jiyeon looks up from the dent to meet the officer's eyes. She is about to speak, but his intensity shakes her resolve and her eyes flutter right back down to that damned dent. "I was...in school...in the gym. I...I was practicing my sets...my friend was there with me...she was throwing balls for me to practice with." The lights in Jiyeon's head pop on at once and her head jolts up. "My friend! She can confirm that I was at the school! Her name is Jung Eunji and I-" the officer cuts Jiyeon off with a wave. "Jung Eunji's body was found with your parents and sister. You...the murderer killed her as well." Jiyeon's breath hitches and her head falls, eyes moving to her fists as her sight becomes blurry with tears. No...no...no...Eunji...Mom...Dad...Jihyo...
REACTION TO THE MURDER? :
Jiyeon never saw the bodies. She never got to experience the shock of seeing the dead bodies of her family and best friend sprawled across the floor, oozing blood. She and Eunji were in the gym until eleven in the night. Eunji complained that she was tired and said that she would leave. Jiyeon reminded her to go to her house to collect some clothes from Jiyeon's room. Jiyeon then stayed at the gym for another hour until making her way back home.
When she arrived at her home, the police were already there. They informed Jiyeon of the murders of her parents and sister and then stuffed her into the back of a police car. She didn't have time to process anything. After realising that the officer was accusing her of murdering her own parents, it finally settled in. Her family was dead. And so was Eunji, who was only supposed to be in Jiyeon's home for less than a minute and then she was supposed to go to her own home.
After the officer left her, Jiyeon grabbed at her chest, struggling to breathe. The tears wouldn't come after they had come before, but her lips were trembing and her heart hurt. My parents and my sister and my best ing friend...
COMMENTS : I may or may not have been inspired by the anime Haikyuu T^T I was going to use Song Jihyo as the sister's FC but then I saw your app lololol I cri everytime. I'm super obsessed with this idea though my God I love it. I never use Seolhyun as an FC so I'm not sure if you would think that she fits the age well enough, but I've always imagined Seolhyun playing volleyball after watching Haikyuu so I had to act on my feelings soz. Also, I saw that you guys wanted a character with lower intelligence. I guess Jiyeon counts in that because she is not academically intelligent but she has incredible situational awareness and common sense. I didn't know what to put for the Intelligence score because of this but I guessed that situational awareness and common sense contributes to intelligence so I just gave her a higher score? idk. fam i need halp otl
