ardene is really a boyish girl. maybe because of growing up with a dad and a twin brother. she's always down for anything and loves the thrill. bungee jumping, sky diving, you name it. she's pretty relaxed with herself and around people and doesn't mind ruining her image. she isn't afraid to get her hands dirty but well she is afraid of cockroaches and spiders. she likes skateboarding with her brother and other friends.

she speaks fluent sarcasm. she gets irritated when she says something that is the furthest thing from serious, but the person she's talking to just doesn’t understand her sarcasm. when she meets someone and she instantly hates them, she has a super hard time hiding it. she kinda got the habit of ending sentences with 'just kidding' or 'it was a joke' to lighten things up when everyone got silet or something. since she's known to be mischievous and funny, people don't get when she's being sarcastic or being funny and it irritates her a lot, which draws out her sarcasm even more.

ardene is arrogant. growing up and getting used to being labelled as perfect by people got in her head. she has that overbearing pride and thinks she knows things more than she actually does. she loves displaying her elevated opinion and will act high and mighty. she just loves to be the center of attention and hates it when someone steals her spotlight. she diminishes others to make herself feel more superior. she kinda has a superiority complex. she is also aggressive.

ardene is pretty vulgar and swears a lot. rather than bottling up her anger, she releases it through swearing. she swears when she's angry, she swears when she's surprised, she swears even when she's just explaining something. though her swearing means no harm most of the time, it turns people off a lot especially those who are not used to hearing such words and she comes of a uneducated and rude, though she's really not rude, sometimes.

she is a living example of brutal yet awesome. she speaks her mind, thoughts and opinions freely, without holding back. if she knows you're at fault, she will no doubt confront you about it. she doesn't mind you disliking her or think of her negatively. she's the person who did or said something nobody else had the guts to. she doesn't care about the consequences of her actions. her words can be really harsh to the point of making the other party cry.

ardene was born in sydney, australia to korean parents. growing up, ardene loved the ocean especially since she grew up with a father who's work is related to the ocean waters. her father would take her and her twin brother to the beach and sometimes they would accompany him at his work when they go by boat to the sea. they would also go hiking, camping and fishing during the their summer breaks. ardene grew up pretty adventurous and boyish. still she never had taken a liking to insects though. she took up piano since she was four years old, her mother being a piano teacher. she enjoyed playing the piano and she started to love music since then. her love for music bloomed thanks to her parents. other than her mother being a piano teacher, she was also a pretty decent singer. her dad, surprisingly, is pretty good in singing. and it was all thanks to being part of their church's choir, though she prefers actually playing music rather than singing. another reason for her love of music is her dad's passion of collecting vinyl records of classic bands and artists. she grew up listening to different types of bands and artists and is very knowledgable when it comes to them. she dreamt of creating amazing music just like them and started composing music, though at first she only played with the piano and notes, she eventually started learning the guitar as well. she admits she's not the best singer, but her passion for creating music is on a different level. she wanted to be a songwriter and composer that can make people move with the message of the song and all that.

in 2014, her family visited seoul for christmas summer vacation. when they were walking around seoul, they were approached by a man who introduced himself as a jyp scout agent. he wanted to cast the twins and join jyp entertainment. their parents didn't allow them, but ardene suddenly told him she wanted to. her parents told the man that they will discuss about the issue and would reach out to him when they have made a decision. ardene argued that she wanted to pursue music and has the right to make her own decisions. so after a very long and thoughtful conversation, they contacted the jyp agent again and told him that only ardene would be training with them. the agent assured that ardene will be in a safe dorm and environment, though her parents are more worried for the girls she'll be rooming with than their daughter.. to be more safe, they asked their nephew, eunho to keep an eye out for ardene and serve as her legal guardian in seoul. so basically since she has zero skills in dancing, she wanted to have extra lessons, so she joined her cousin's classes and gradually joined other choreographer's dance classes at 1million studio.

on january 2016, her twin brother passed away because of a car accident back in sydney. jyp allowed her to fly back to sydney to mourn for her brother. when she got back to seoul, she was more distant and eventually was diagnosed with depression. she had a long talk with jyp whether she wanted to continue being a trainee or not. she chose to terminate her contract with jyp to take care of her health. she contemplated if she would go back to sydney or stay since she has already passed the entrance exam for dong-ah institute of media and arts, majoring in her dream course, audio production. her parents told her to continue and finish her degree in korea and told her it's better for her stay there rather than being reminded of her brother in sydney. so she lived together with her cousin and focused on her studies to get her mind out of things. she continued creating music and exploring different ways and softwares and immensed herself on improving. she still joined 1million classes since she found dancing as another form of stress relieving. eventually she heard about polaris and 1million collaborating on a girl group, though she already admitted that the idol path isn't for her. but her cousin said otherwise. he encouraged her to atleast try and audition. annoyed with eunho's pestering, she did audition and well, to everyone's utter surprise, she got in and was later added to the lineup of their girl group. not her path my huh.

eunho is ardene's legal guardian in seoul, despite ardene being of legal age now. she lives in his apartment to save money and all. they love to eat out at restaurants with really good food and if not, they will buy meat for them to cook at home. eunho makes sure that ardene is taking her pills and that she's alright. he calls when they're not together making sure she doesn't do something bad. ardene joins his choreography videos when he asks her and she would always ask something in return lol like meat. ardene also likes to borrow his clothes a lot.

"yah, miyeon-ah, keep eating and you'll blow up in no time." eunho teased, they were eating dinner and ardene was wolfing down her food as if it would be her last meal for the year. "then so be it." eunho watched her with amusement. ardene looked down on his plate and saw the last piece of meat. she inwardly smirked before stealing the meat and eating it. "yah!!"

well they're first impression of each other were okay, ardene thought of her as a tall and feminine girl. eventually they learned of each other's personalities and well they clash sometimes (most of the time really). whenever hyosun isn't satisfied with a move ardene did, ardene would argue that she did as how they were taught and that she was being ridiculous. let's not get stuff started when ardene cooks for the group. ardene would really pick her brains out of her head on how to please and make hyosun eat the food she prepares. so she has a list of food that she eats and how she wants it cooked and cooks food based on that. though they have bad times, they eventually have some things in common, especially with their perfectionism. they both agree that good quality isn't enough, it should be the best quality 150% of the time. they would agree on things and even would say it at the same time sometimes.

"well i don't eat this kind of food. you already have a list of what i like, why'd you cook.." hyosun turns to the food with a disgusted expression. "..this." ardene stared at her with wide open. she turned around and cussed in english. "this is what i fcking get for trying. why did i even fxking bother." ardene lied down on the sofa and questioned life, talking to herself. hyosun stared at the same aged girl. "weirdo."

trainee years 2014-early 2016 at jyp entertainment (1 year and 1 month) ; 2017-present (polaris entertainment)

trainee life 
she entered jyp with just a tad bit of experience in singing and her piano and guitar skills. she had no dance experience whatsoever. she basically got scouted for her looks, not to brag or anything. she also had a hard time adjusting witht he enviroment as well as the language and the korean culture. in a few weeks into her training, she felt homesick. during that time, she met bang chan, who was a fellow aussie. they found out both are from sydney and immediately became close friends. her vocal skills improved a lot and it became more clearer and more stable as she trains more. because of her husky and deep voice, jyp wanted her to try rapping as well. and guess what, she was pretty good at it, if you ignore the evident accent and mispronounciation. so she basically did training in rapping as well. her dancing skills, though wasn't the best when she started, gradually improved and her moves became sharper and now she can follow the instructor without having a hard time. she improved even more when she started taking 1million classes. she diligently attends her training and dance classes to improve and she's now considered a really competent dancer. then she started composing and writing songs.  at first, her compositions were all pen, paper and music notes but when she started studying at sopa, she learned how to use technology and softwares and that's when her passion for creating music started. she eventually influenced bang chan and they both critic each other's works. she was actually supposed to be part of the sixteen candidates but decided to focus on learning music production instead. 

when her brother passed away, it took a big toll on her and eventually decided to depart from the company to focus on her health and studies. after a year of college and attending 1million classes, her cousin forced suggested she try out for polaris entertainment who was collabing with them. she did it for the sake of making eunho's pestering stop. and surprisingly she got in. she adjusted pretty quickly to the training environment at polaris, having already experienced training. unlike before, she was a bit distant though still friendly but there was an obvious wall around her mind and heart. she immersed in her song making and training and her talents were acknowledged as she was then included in the lineup for solar.

personality chan is a huge ball of sunshine. he's always smiling and laughing at it is contagious. he's the definition of a beagle idol. he's always active, moving and is pretty unpredictable and weird. he likes to tell jokes and goof around. he's friendly and doesn't have a hard time to befriend others, and people don't take long to come to like him. he's also hardworking and doesn't like worrying others, so he tends to k aneep his burdens to himself. he has a kind heart and doesn't think twice before helping someone. he also has good leadership skills and knows when to step up. he has good talking skills so he's most likely to be the mc of his group. when he's angry, he gets quiet and it is pretty evident on his face. but he doesn't let it affect his work. he tends to overwork himself without holding himself back and he tends to injure his right knee because of it.

love story ardene and chan met when there were still a jyp trainees. they met through bang chan. being same aged and having the similar beagleness, they got close in no time. they used to go out and eat together or go to places as trainees. their close friendship was evident when they were zombie cameos in twice's ooh ahh mv. it was seen during the bts videos. they used to practice together a lot and would give each other honests criticisms and advises. when ardene's brother passed away, chan was her pillar of support when she returned back to seoul after mourning for her brother, other than her cousin eunho. he made sure that ardene was alright and not doing anything that would harm herself. he checks up on her and would either message her or call her everyday to make sure she's safe and is taking her pills. when she departed the company, chan still spends time with her even after he moved to beat interactive and started training with his soon to be group. ardene was also very supportive of him and when his group started doing busking performances, she watched every single one. there are even pre-debut pictures and videos where their close friendship was seen. ardene also inspired chan and his group members to take 1million dance classes, so you can see both of them in some 1million performances. they also both go to dong-ah institute of media and arts, though different majors. they always go to university together when their schedules match and would eat together too. sometimes, when chan's classes end first and he's not rushing to go training, he would wait until ardene finishes her classes and they would go home together.

when a.c.e debuted, she couldn't watch their debut performance because of their conflicting schedule but she did send a cake and flowers and called chan to congratulate his group and him. during 1million's 1st concert, ardene was a back up dancer and a.c.e was also a special guest. whenever ardene isn't dancing back up, she's either with eunho or with chan, mostly with chan really. they monitor the performances and give wacko reactions and even copying the dancers. when a.c.e made a comeback with the song 'callin', chan mentioned that he wanted to dedicate the song's message to a very close friend who's going through a rough time, and that person is ardene. chan supported ardene when she decided to join polaris entertainment and encouraged her to follow her dreams.

when chan also told ardene about the unit, she wasn't sure about it at first especially since she doesn't really like survival programs like that. chan knows about this but ardene sincerely wished him good luck and she makes sure that he isn't pressuring himself too much and that he is taking care of himself especially his right knee. when chan made it to the finale, she made sure that she attended, she accompanied chan's mom and aunt who came from jeju and sat beside them. when he was announced as a nominee for the last member to join the final nine, she was nervous as hell and even started to tear up. when it was announced that he's the last member, she cried in joy. chan started walking towards the other end of the stage but made sure to throw a big heart towards them, and ardene did a finger heart back at him while still crying and comforting his mom. chan thanked his mom and aunt for coming all the way from jeju and also thanked ardene though only he mentioned a very close friend, not saying her name. after the live broadcast, they reunited with chan, ardene let his mom and aunt hug and congratulate him first, then s. when chan turned to her, he immediately hugged her tight, thanking her for the support and trust she gave him, which made ardene tear up and cry again, making chan for it.

eventually chan became busy and they rarely see each other but they kept in touch via their phones and would talk with each other everyday. though right now, there aren't any romantic feelings between them, it'll slowly grow soon as their friendship and bonds get stronger and they get to know each other more. right now their close best friends and when solar debuts, their friendship will be known by the public (kinda like somi and daehwi's friendship)

how they interact these two are like two peas in a pod. they think alike, talk alike, act alike and joke alike. they sometimes even can finish each other's sentences. having known each other for more than three years, they are really comfortable around each other. they both don't mind doing skinship like sudden hugs or resting their head on the other's shoulder or lap or the casual hanging of the arm over the shoulder (though ardene can't reach chan's). they talk to each other everyday, and one might ask how can they possiblely not run out of topics to talk about, well who knows. they're in that point of closeness where they can tell what the other is thinking by just an eye contact. other than the usual behavior of best friends, digging deeper, chan is very protective of her and worries alot knowing ardene's condition. he is extra careful and treats her like a gem, though she doesn't know it. he's a gentleman around her, like holding her bag, opening the door for her and even cleaning up after her after eating ramyeon at 7 eleven. ardene also silently takes care of him by reminding him that it's time to eat and he shouldn't buy fast food or the like, or maybe fixing his clothes and his hair for him. they also pretty much know each other's phone passwords/codes. they like to share music with each other too and even funny videos and memes. they trust each other alot and confesses their troubles and problems with one another. both would always do their best to help the other through it. they're also comfortable sharing food like drinking from one straw or feeding the other. many mistake them as a couple but then that expectation gets ruined when either chan or ardene would headlock the other or maybe kick the other's or something.
