Hyunwook likes to think of himself as a rather handsome young man, but then again beauty is subjective so he quite quickly dismissed the thought. His (natural) brownish-black hair is mostly sitting in a fluffy heap on top of his head, parting in the middle but a few strands occasionally (and very often) falling into his eyes. His eyes shone with determination and sometimes anger (and when it does you better watch out or else), brown orbs which is quite visible paired with pale skin. His full red lips (again, natural) is more often than not set in a smirk or a smile, but it can twist into an ugly frown when he's very impatient and frustrated. He is slender, with an air of slightness that one quite mistakens for fragility, but oh, they couldn't be more wrong. Long and graceful limbs which emphasised on his slenderness, and his collarbones protrude from his skin, which can be seen easily. Also, he has pretty fingers.
Style:
His wardrobe consists mostly of tight shirts or too-large sweaters, tight jeans and long wool jackets/cardigans. He adores trench coats as well. He suffers from short sight so he wears a pair of round-framed glasses too - when he's reading, and not fighting (in which he wears contacts). Also, he is never seen anywhere without his trademark combat boots.
An outfit that he really likes is a white dress shirt with the sleeves rolled up to his elbows, one shirt tail untucked, black belt holding up tight black pants with a pair of laced-up combat boots (image). He often forgoes a jacket, though if necessary would grudgingly wear a long wool jacket that does nothing against the cold. On colder days, he wears a dark-coloured sweater that is slightly too large, or sometimes white turtlenecks with tight black pants, and again, his combat boots. In the summer, he likes to wear a dress shirt too, though short-sleeved ones and a hoodie which he often loves to draw over his messy and tousled black (now dyed light brown as shown in pictures above) locks.
As for his training outfit, William usually wears Gear and tights, plus his combat boots.

There are conflicting personality traits, but generally, William Herondale is a strong-willed person whose mind you can change - almost never. He is usually the first person to try different things amongst his fellow Shadowhunters, which can sometimes result in a recklessly-caused injury.. He is strong-willed, which again means that, once he sets his mind on something hardly anything could change it he decision. Like his somewhat distant cousins, he is a confident person - except it diminishes somewhat around them. Hyunwook carries himself with an air of confidence, always standing tall and never wavering. Unless something really severe happened, he wouldn't be seen being depressed - usually.
He's somewhat outgoing as well, always likes to introduce himself to people whom he has taken an interest in and doesn't shy away from the companion of people, or is he shy himself.
He's also a teensy bit of a drama queen, though he does not show this side of him when he throws a fit - meaning, he doesn't use it to get something he wants. This side usually shows around his friends, and is mostly used for humour purposes.
However, William's flaw is his short temper and impatience. He doesn't really like waiting for something, and can be seen getting more and more frustrated when his friends dawdle over something that doesn't need to take such a long time. He's also sarcastic like the rest of his family members, and this is constantly on show, though it's mostly an endearing sense of sarcasm instead of really hurting - but it can sometimes unconsciously hurt someone. His mouth doesn't have a filter either, and he likes speaking his mind, which of course includes his constant swearing, and which people find offensive as well.

Born in London to a pair of Shadowhunter parents who also happen to be the London Institute's Heads, William has a pretty privileged life in front of him, except neither parents found it agreeable to spoil him, so he was raised, of course, as a warrior, like others of his kind.
William, at a very young age, is used to his parents constantly leaving their Insitute for missions and the like, as well as having to stumble out of bed in ungodly hours such as the crack of dawn to fight demons, and so he doesn't complain (much) about this lifestyle which he was soon used to.
However, once he hits puberty age, William became extremely moody and unpredictable, sometimes leading to violent encounters with his parents and sometimes siblings. Having no patience at all to deal with their stormy son, his parents took this chance to send him to the Seoul Institute to 'learn some good manners' as well as to use this experience to learn about different Institutes of the world, as his brother had done in case he has to run the Institute.
So off he went to the Seoul Institute, and realised immediately that they were different - drastically different - from the London Institute. He also formed a sort of grudge with Kain, who has similar personality traits as those of his, as well as their similar stubborn natures. William doesn't get along well with Kain, and he makes sure the other know this.
Though of course, when they have missions, he throws all of his differences away and focuses on the mission.

Older brother / Shin Hoseok/Xavier Herondale / 25 / Shadowhunter / Protective, smart, strong / Being the oldest, Hoseok has a lot of responsibilties to deal with, so he was frequently responsible for taking care of his younger siblings when his parents are away. Being the oldest, he was also naturally the one next in line for inheriting the Institute, so his parents constantly train him for this very purpose. Though thankfully, none of his older siblings envy him for this position. Rather, William is quite relieved not to have this burden on himself, and constantly teases his brother about his role.
Mother / Shin Nayeon/Lily Herondale (nee Penhallow) / 57 / Shadowhunter / Brave, protective, caring, slighlty stubborn / Nayeon is a strong Shadowhunter, and she lets everyone else know it by showing off her spectacular skills in Shadowhunting. She lets no one, not even her husband make her submit to their wishes. (Though of course she doesn't say a word when the Clave issues their orders) And thus she is known and respected throughout the Shadowhunter community. Because of her stubborn nature, she and her husband often argues about different things, sometimes even the most trivial things. Also, she refuses to believe that females should not learn Shadowhunting, and thus insisted on training her daughter herself.
Father / Charles Herondale / 54 / Shadowhunter / Stubborn, slightly carefree, is a natural born leader / Charles, having parents who were Shadowhunters who were also previous heads of the Institute, was trained for the role like Hoseok is currently being trained. He loves his children and takes good care of them, and constantly listens to his wife's advice about pretty much everything. To most, they are the ideal couple and parents, mostly because they allow freedom for their children, unlike most strict shadowhunter parents. However, they finally made the decision to throw their son to faraway Seoul because he was slightly getting out of hand, and by learning about other cultures, he hoped Will could be more obedient.
Friend-enemy / Kain Cherrywain / 20 / Shadowhunter / Manipulative Perfectionist / Unlike the other occupants of the Institute, Will pretty much owed him nothing, and thus doesn't make much of an effort to get along with him as the other occupants of the Institute does. He thinks Kain is a stuck-up brat who abuses his authority to make him do things he doesn't want, but really, Kain thinks the same, excluding the authoritive part. Anyways, they rarely do get along, and quite often argues with each other.
Friend(?) / Elsie Cherrywain / 18 / Shadowhunter / Aloof, caring, brutually honest / At first, Will disliked Elsie because of Kain, as well as her personality which was quite similar to his. However, once, when they were on a mission, William managed to fight off three demons on his own while protecting her, who twisted her ankle that time and couldn't walk. Ever since then, they compromised and tried to get along.
Best friend and Parabatai / James Carstairs / 21 / Shadowhunter / gentle, caring, distant / The two often likes to make jokes about their relationship, especially since Will's ancestor, who was also called Will, had a best friend with the exact name as James'. The two gets along extremely well, and often fought and train together when they were young. They decided to become parabatai when they were sixteen, and went through the ritual together. Friend / Jessamine Lovelace / deceased / resident ghost of the Institute/Shadowhunter / caring, protective, stubborn / Being born and have lived in the same time as the original Will Herondale and James Carstairs, Jessamine often tells stories of their bravery and heroic acts, sometimes as bedtime stories to the child Will when he couldn't sleep. From a young age, Jessamine understands Will the most because he reminds her of herself, and hence she is determined to teach him to walk on the right path. William also confides in her when he's troubled, and goes to her for advice when in need of it.
Tutor / Diana Silvershore / 35 / Shadowhunter / authoritative, caring, stern / She was first hired by his parents to tutor their children, especially since they are often away from the Institute. Being Russian, she teaches the Herondale children the language, though William ultimately gave up on it due to him deciding it was quite boring. Combat: 5: Since a young age, Will was trained in combat by his parents as well as spar constantly with James and his brother. He is skilled most particularly in hand-to-hand combat, and close range. Having knowledge of hapkido helps tremendously as well.
Weaponry: 5: The London Institute has a large collection of weaponry, and since a young age William has had access to these weapons. While he is skilled in many of them, the one he prefers the most is the dagger and seraph blade, which he learnt to throw since he was young, and with deadly accuracy as well. He likes to fight with the katana as well.

Q - What do you think about Shadowhunters?
A - I'm not quite sure as to what you mean if you're asking me how I feel about my identity. To be honest, being a shadowhunter is part of myself. While I wouldn't change it for anything in the world, being a mundane wouldn't be too bad of an experience. For one, you get to live longer.
All jokes aside though, it's a dangerous job, but it's what it is. Glorious and all that. 'We are but dust and shadows'. We uphold the Law, we follow the Clave, and we slew demons. Having the Angel's blood isn't that bad either.

A - As long as they don't bother us, I won't bother them.

Appearance: Gabriel has dark hair that's more often than not styled, which is hidden under either a baseball cap or a hoodie. He also has a slightly more muscular build than his boyfriend, and is not as lithe when compared to Will or James.
Style: Gabriel prefers to be subtle, rather than wearing clothes that draws attention to himself unlike his boyfriend, so he more often than not wears T-shirts and jeans with hoodies and a baseball cap hiding his unruly hair.
The most one can see him wear as dressing up fancy would be wearing a dress shirt with jeans, or adding a plaid shirt or a bomber jacket to his outfit. That's it, really. He also wears Gear during training.

Those who don't know him has the first impression of him as a cold and aloof person, but they couldn't be more wrong. He displays his affectionate side when he's around people whom he's close with, but around strangers he's polite and somewhat having a distance.
He is extremely helpful, often going out of his way to help those in need. Gabriel also is caring, and likes to check up on people who are close to him, such as his close friends. Gabriel has a seemingly infinite amount of patience, and he uses it often, but when he snaps, it's not a pretty sight.
He even has a playful side that he shows sometimes to the people he has taken a liking to, as well as those extremely close to him, and likes to prank people. Just sometimes though. He is also quite confident, especially in his skills which he has spent a lot of time honing.
However, due to his childhood, he is quite often somewhat shy, and thus comes off as distant and brooding. He's an introvert, and thus doesn't communicate much with others.
Yet, he is irritable, despite his patient personality. Quite some things can make him snap easily, and when he does, no one can comfort or talk him out of his mood, except maybe occasionally William. Due to certain events in his childhood, he's also easily suspicious, which is useful when facing eidolon demons, however not as much when it comes to his social relationships.
He is also stubborn, and doesn't quite like to listen to others, and prefers to have his way with different things and affairs.

Gabriel was born to a pair of Shadowhunter parents in Busan, and thus was pretty well-trained by both of them until they died in the same mission that took Kain's parents as well. Ever since then, he was left to live with his grandmother, a former Shadowhunter who took his training into her own hands.
Since she was strict, he was forced to train for quite long periods throughout his childhood, and is forced to grow up faster than the other children as well. While he didn't complain, Gabriel did felt bitter whenever he saw children his age running home from school to play, while he heads to the family dojo to train.
Fast forward to the age of fifteen, when his grandmother decided it was time to let him train other shadowhunters his age, and sent him to the Seoul Insitute. There, he met Kain and Elsie, and while they didn't hit it off at first glance, they eventually became close friends.
Now, he resides in the Seoul Institute and constantly fights demons with the rest of the Institute's occupants.

Grandmother / Jung Haeyeon/Aliane Hallowreath / Unknown (Gabriel has no idea how old she was, nor did she ever told him) / Shadowhunter / Stern, strict, protective / Gabriel was practically raised by his grandmother, and she is the main parent figure in his life after his parents are killed. She is stern, but sometimes soften when she sees her grandson being battered and injured. While she loves him, she thinks that loving the hard way is the best way to raise her grandson, and thus put him through intense training.
Friend / Kain Cherrywain / 20 / Shadowhunter / Controlling, manipulative, charming / Frankly, Gabriel doesn't exactly like Kain that much due to his manipulative and controlling personality, but the two has learnt to compromise in various different situations. Since their parents were acquainted and good friends, both tried their best to get along in memory of them. Kain was also the first friend Gabriel made similar in age, and vice versa. Thus, they're somewhat friends, somewhat enemies.
Boyfriend's parabatai / James Carstairs / 21 / Shadowhunter / refer to here / Due to them both playing important roles in Will's life, they do get along, but not always. At first, James was hostile towards Gabriel because he was becoming the primary figure in his life, and was fiercely protective of his parabatai, but after he learnt of his motives and thoughts, the two became fast friends.

They weren't exactly close due to their lack of interactions, but then they aren't exactly distant either. A - I'm not too sure, especially since I haven't interacted with a lot of them, but I think they're alright.

A - The only Downworlder I've seen so far is Raphael. He's pretty nice and helpful, but also somewhat arrogant. Technically, I don't think they're as bad as they are said to be. Hopefully.
