although jinyoung chooses not to speak it doesn't mean he is only restricted to only having the quiet personality. jinyoung is the optimistic type of person, he doesn't look at the bad things if they aren't that important and can easily be overcome. jinyoung has quite the high iq, which makes him really smart. he aces all of his tests and always graduates with honors. the reason for this is because of his quiet nature, he tends to become more aware and gets to learn easily. jinyoung is confident in whatever he does, he doesn't let the fact that people tease/bully him for not talking lower his self-esteem. jinyoung barely tells any lies and if he does then maybe it's because he was forced to.
jinyoung being a perfectionist is no surprise, he want's everything to be completely organized and perfect in his perspective, no room for error. as mentioned before, he appears quite mysterious as people don't really know the reason for him not speaking, his parents lied to the teachers saying that was traumatized as a kid and he grew up like this but the other students didn't believe it. it would take a lot of good reasoning to change jinyoung's perspective and/or opinion on something. both his powers and the bullying he got from school caused him to be kinda aloof. he is distant from most of the students in school and chooses to be alone if it is an option.(this could be a developing trait, he could turn to an open person as he gets comfortable with the other hunters.)

being born with the powers of his lineage, jinyoung was trained to restrict himself from speaking. his powers surfaced when he was 5 years old. he was playing at the park while his father was watching over him in the distance, little jinyoung tripped and shouted. the area where jinyoung shouted was damaged.
his family comes from a line of hunters who all share the same powers, the sonic scream. most of them can speak without activating their powers, even jinyoung's father but he was a different case. everytime he would speak his powers would activate. they are doing their best to help control jinyoung's abilities to avoid any accidents.
most of the kids in school because he couldn't speak. when he was in highschool the teasing turned into bullying. many people knew he was an ace in academics and they would force him to do their homeworks and he would get beat up if he didn't do them.
soon jinyoung's parents made the decision to tell jinyoung all about their past and what exists in their world. jinyoung learned about the evil that exists in the world and the good that does their best to get rid of it. jinyoung's father told jinyoung that he needed to train to become a hunter to continue their familys legacy.
his mother did not have the same abilites as him since she came from a different line of hunters, one with no abilities. she trained him mentally by teaching him the basics, the types of creatures, their weaknesses, their strengths, what to do and what not to do. she also brought him to a telepath who taught him how to communicate with others using telepathy. it took 2 years for jinyoung to communicate effectively using telepathy.(if he isn't allowed to have telepathy and the sonic scream at the same time then ignore that part.)
his father was teaching him how to use his powers effectively, it wasn't all about screaming, it was also about control. he was also trained in many different fighting styles and he learned how to use many different weapons.
the bullies in school were easily beaten up by him when they threatened him.
he started hunting at the age of 16, first with his father and mother, then he started going by himself. he continues to train himself to control his power so that he can finally speak normally without causing harm.
