— Negative: 'cold', impatient, foul-mouthed, (very slightly) arrogant, blunt, stubborn, quite proud, irritable
personality
— So. Hana is a pretty diverse character, which can be seen from the contradicting personality traits stated above. Normally, she is a passionate person who is rather friendly towards those around her, and goes out of her way to help people in need - even at her own risk.
However, on stage, she becomes an entirely different person. Due to YG assigning the 'Ice Queen' image to her, she is quite cold when participating on variety shows such as Weekly Idol, having an aura of authority (?) around her that makes others feel uneasy. The fact that she is the most passionate member who practically oozes confidence onstage does not really help change her image to what she really is either.
Despite that, one thing you cannot deny about Kuroda Hana is that she is a hard-working and extremely determined person who stops at almost nothing to achieve her goals, except perhaps wise words of those around her that she actually chooses to listen, because Hana is a proud person who is confident in her own skills and doesn't really like to listen. Much.
Which brings us to her tempermental side. Is her real character friendly and helpful? Or cold and uncaring? Most people get extremely confused and spend half of their time trying to figure out her 'real personality'. In reality, her personality is both. Hana suffers from fits of depression ranging from mild to serious from time to time, and has frequent mood swings tending to be unpredictable.
Unfortunately, she has quite a large amount of negative traits as well. She tends to be impatient, aways seen to tap her foot in fustration when her bandmates or something takes longer than usual to complete. She tries to keep her temper under hold though, and is most of the time successful. Her sister always urges her to keep calm, but sometimes, on a bad day, anything can cause her to explode, which causes people to be terrified of her.
Hana swears a lot too, but of course only in front of her bandmates and never on shows. This is mostly due to her being erm...foul-mouthed. Unfortunately it's soon becoming a habit. Her confidence could possibly be borderline arrogant, but only very slightly. She doesn't flaunts herself in front of those she is close to and in risk of severing their relationship (int terms of reading the mood she is excellent in it), and mostly on stage. Sometimes she says things that she doesn't mean to which could be mistaken for boasting.
Her words are mostly blunt and sharp, which, again, she doesn't really mean to. this is frown upon as speaking out is seen to be extremely rude, but she is trying her best to correct it. And isn't making much progress. (*sighs* like my apps and stories) She is shown to be quite stubborn too, which can be good or bad; she pushes for things that she believes to be correct and just, but as she doesn't like listening to others much, the things she is stubborn for are sometimes wrong, which people are sometimes afraid to point out as they're scared of her unpredictable mood swings.
She is also a sassy little creature who likes to playfully argue with Jiae most of the time. Together, they're known as the 'sass pair' in the group because they're just...asshats too sarcastic for their own good. Oh well.
(basically she's a friendly and helpful fluffball that is mostly misunderstood due to her 'negative' personality traits T T)
background
— Compared to my other characters, Kuroda Hana actually has a pretty normal life. She was born in Busan, South Korea due to her mother going back to her hometown. It was a sudden birth as she wasn't expected until one week later, but since the doctor declared her too huge to live in her mother's womb anymore, she was born on a warm day in April, greeted with smiles and laughter by her older siblings and parents. Due to the flowers in her mother's garden blossoming at the time she was born, she was therefore named Hana.
All through her childhood, Hana was a lucky girl; she was loved by most, and admired by her classmates due to her having excellent grades in almost every subject. Admiration, however, soon became jealousy as others started envying her straight A's and calling her 'teacher's pet'. Hana, being quite a sheltered young lady, was wounded and suffers from depression for quite a period. She never confines in others, as she believes herself to be a burden to those whom she speak to, and thus keeps to herself most of the time, spending her time in the library, indulging herself in books.
One day, when she was hurrying home from her extra lessons, she spotted a huge screen playing 2NE1's Fire. Immediately, she developed an interest in kpop, and was obsessed with 2NE1. Instead of focusing on her grades, Hana secretly started to train by herself in hopes of being chosen in an audition and to debut in a charismatic girl group like 2NE1.
She then auditioned for a Japanese company and trained there for a some period of time; two years. The Japanese company was kind though, however, Hana felt that it was somewhat lacking and left, starting to despair whether she could really succeed.
Unfortunately, this results in her grades slipping. As both her parents were quite strict, they started to reprimand her for not concentrating on her studies, something they had never done. Hana was shocked, but being an obedient girl, she obeyed. However, starting then, she became more rebellious and ignored her parents' scoldings. (she did study hard though, she just doesn't like to listen to others)
At the age of fifteen, Hana joined a band consisting of her few friends, Hirai Momo and another two girls named Miyano Nana and Kanazawa Yukari. All of them had dreams of becoming stars, and at first, they shunned Hana due to her being top of the class. However, once Momo started seeing the passionate side of her, the members started to accept her and they were the 'official' school band for a while, the name being 4Dream. The band continued for quite some while until they were all seventeen, however, as Hana was pushed to study for her entrance exams to a top school, and Yukari being pressured by her mother to move overseas, they disbanded. Despite that, Momo and Hana remained close friends.
Either by some coincidence of Fate or a huge of luck, around the same time Momo was scouted by JYP, a YG scout saw Hana on the streets while shopping together with her friend (i.e. Momo) and immediately scouted her for her looks.
It took quite a long time to convince her parents to send her to Korea, but after she passed her entrance exams with flying colours, her parents finally let her go, to her brother who was working as a choreographer in 1Million.
Now, all that's left is to train and debut. Wouldn't be too hard...right?

relationships
— older brother • Kuroda Yuuichi / 22 / choreographer at 1Million/university student / 1000/10 / Not much is said about him in her background, so I shall elaborate here. He has a sis-con; sister complex which results in him absolutely adoring his sister. He cares deeply for Hana, yet is a tsundere so he appears cold and uncaring to the rest of the world when in reality he loves his sister very much. Even in front of Hana, he doesn't show his doting nature but only likes to argue with her about the most random and stupid things. Also, because he's extremely handsome, whenever he visits Hana to help her bandmates improve on their dance moves the other girls tend to gush about him a lot. Which results in a lot of eye rolling on Hana's part.
— best friend • Hirai Momo / 20 / idol, main dancer of Twice / 10/10 / Before Momo was Hana's best friend, she was her enemy. The girl despises everything about her, mostly due to her being top of the class and all that. However, after a certain stumble upon her practicing her dance moves, Momo started to think otherwise and instead accepted her. Being the leader figure of 4Dream, the others followed her example and started to like Hana. Even after 4Dream disbanded, they got along really well and became best of friends. Even after they went to Korea, they continue to see each other. Also, Momo occasionally phones Hana to ask her about , and now give advice for her friend who is extremely stressed about her debut.
— older sister • Kuroda Mina / 24 / school teacher / 9/10 / As Mina is teaching in Japan, the sisters rarely see each other. However, when they are young, Mina is somewhat of a teacher figure to her little sister, thus her occupation. Nowadays, she often give advice to Hana such as how to manage her temper and stuff. Whenever Hana goes back home, Mina is the first to greet her. (I can't write www)
— mother • Hwang Chaeyoung / 55 / housewife / 7/10 / As Hana now resides in Korea, she rarely sees her parents. At first, Chaeyoung was the model mother; she takes special care in all of her children, never neglecting any of them. However, once Hana enters secondary school, she underwent a drastic change and demanded high grades and excellent results from her daughter. As she is deeply upset over her 'perfect' daughter choosing to be an idol instead of becoming a lawyer or doctor as she wanted (plus her son already escaping her hold doesn't really help the situation), Hana mostly avoids her mother nowadays.
— father • Kuroda Takuya / 56 / university professor / 8.5/10 / Hana likes her father more than her mother, because of mostly obvious reasons. Her father, being a university professor, and especially on the topic of psychology, understands the behaviour of his children more than his wife did. When Hana was young, he took good care of his children, and dotes on her more than his other children, for reasons unknown. However, as he has a weaker will than that of his wife's, he succumbed to the wishes of Chaeyoung and half-heartedly scolded his children, but secretly slipped them sweets and the sort. He phones his daughter at least twice a month to check on her, which Hana is immensely grateful for.
— bandmate • Miyano Nana / 20 / university student / 5/10 / Ever since 4Dream disbanded, the members hadn't been in much contact. However, Nana had admired Hana's passion even before Momo disliking her, so they secretly keep in contact and go out for coffee if Hana has the time.
— bandmate • Kanazawa Yukari / 21 / journalist / 5/10 / Yukari was originally the most distant member of 4Dream. However, ever since Hana joined, Momo developed a 180 degree change in personality, and she began to open up to others. Before she left she made the members promise that they will someday meet up and perform once more.
— good friend • Shin Hyunwook / 21 / idol/trainee / 8/10 / It was all very strange. The day Hana arrived, Hyunwook was a new-comer. As she was confident in her dancing skills, she went to the dance room to practice. There, Hyunwook was training too, but the moment Hana set his eyes on him, she knew he was on a completely level. Slightly despairing, she then asked him for tips to improve her dancing. Hyunwook, seeing this foreign girl with a determined fire in her eyes, blinked and grinned. "Sure." Afterwards, due to the both of them being similar in age, they hung out, but only very occasionally as their relationship could possibly cause a scandal to erupt. Despite that, Hyunwook does enjoy her company.
— former bandmate/friend • Lalisa Manoban (Lisa) / 20 / idol, main dancer of Blackpink / 8/10 / Due to the both of them being foreign members, they hit it off almost immediately. Lisa, like Momo, taught her how to dance, and so they spent most of their time in the dance room together. As they're both foreign to Korea, they like to spend time together, wandering the streets. Hana even brought her to know her brother, who was fascinated by her style of dancing. When Hana and Lisa were both introduced in the lineup of Blackpink, they couldn't be more excited.
— former bandmate/friend • Kim Jisoo / 22 / idol, visual of Blackpink / 8/10 / Due to the both of them being visuals (and Hana finally able to show a bit of her girly side), the two like sharing beauty secrets (yes, Hana is a teensy bit of a vain girl) and the best way to pair outfits. Around Jisoo, Hana can also confide in her as she can keep secrets extremely well. When the lineup for Blackpink was announced, Hana was ecstatic as she would debut in the same group as two of her dearest friends. However, due to certain circumstances, the lineup was changed, and Rosé was switched into the group instead of her. Heartbroken, she nearly gave up her dream. However, under insistence of her brother, she didn't give up and continued training.
— former bandmate/friend • Kim Jennie / 21 / idol, member of Blackpink / 8/10 / Again, Hana is very close friends with the members of Blackpink. Due to the large amount of time spent training together, they are practically sisters in name and treats each other as such. Hana, being the rapper of the group, likes to seek advice from Jennie in order to improve her own skills as well as her stage presence (because she's apparently at it). When the lineup of Blackpink was announced to be changed, Jennie was just as heartbroken as Hana was.
— frienenemy/sass partner • Shin Jiae / 21 / member of E2W / 8/10 / As mentioned in the nickname section of her app, she was named Sakura by Jiae, because the girl is friendly and decides to socialise with Hana. As Hana arrived later than Jiae at YG, the older girl immediately took a liking to her and likes to joke around. However, once she discovers the real side of Hana, the two started to engage in sass battles often to the dismay of the members (as it can go on forever and they don't really want to constantly hear the bickering in the house) and sometimes watched by the incredibly amused Shin Hyunwook during lunch. Never place these two in the same room as a heated sass battle will then erupt between the two of them. Also, as Jiae knows the girl longest in YG (with the exception of Hyunwook, who likes to slip Hana tips and background information on Jiae and watches them bicker - evil ), so they both know a lot about each other, and hence engage in constant sass battles. They do like each other though, but in the end sass always conquer. :)
— bandmate • Shin Jinheo / 17 / member of E2W / 7/10 / There's generally an unspoken rule that, if you get to know one of the members of the Shin family, you would automatically know others. And it just happened that she is one of the members of the same group she is in, soshe would have to get to know Jinheo. To her, Jinheo is somewhat too much of a Happy Virus. The girl is constantly hyper and happy, so Hana feels slightly burdened when around her, especially since her persona is the exact opposite. Despite the difference, Hana still likes Jinheo very much; when she is down or suffers from her occassional depression episode, Jinheo's energy always cheers her up.
— manager • Cho Dahee / ? / erm...manager / 6/10 / It is difficult to put it into words precisely. On one hand, Hana is grateful for everything that she has done to keep everything in working order. On the other hand, she dislikes her motherly nature and doesn't like Dahee constantly nagging and keeping check on them. So it's hard to say how Hana feels about Dahee exactly, but you can be rest assured that it's not an altogether hate relationship; she does like her manager-nim.
— friend • Park Junhee / 23 / idol, leader of A.C.E / 8/10 / The two first met in 1Million, with Hana watching Seyoon and Junhee dancing. While it was ultimately Seyoon who she got to know better, she admires Junhee's dancing as well. After she introduced herself to the two of them, they started keeping in contact with her. Junhee likes Hana as his little sister, but since he's mostly bashful around girls, he sometimes couldn't reveal his true self around her and often act reserved.
— fellow trainee • Park Chaeyoung / 20 / idol, member of Blackpink / 3/10 / In all truthfulness, Hana does not really like Rose. The reasons are obvious; due to the latter replacing her in the lineup of Blackpink, Hana naturally would be upset and angry. Chaeyoung understands that, but she couldn't really talk to the girl since Hana has an unpredictable temper. She hopes to mend their relationship, but Hana doesn't really want to, so their relationship is a really cold one. Hana doesn't exactly hate her, but she resents Rose, only a little. Whenever they pass each other by in the halls of YG, Hana gives a slight bow and polite greeting as it's required, but you can see the fire in her eyes burning away.

training background
— Hana was born to a family without any artistic background, so naturally she would have to get her game up or else. When she first saw 2NE1's Fire play across a huge advertisment board hurrying home, she knew that this kind of life would be meant for her - not being a lawyer or doctor, which is what her parents wish for. She first trained at a Japanese company called GRACE, which is an idol/model company. However, she realises that Japanese pop and their style of performance is not really what she wants, so despite her already trained quite well (the CEO even told her that there might be a chance of her debuting), she quitted the company and went full-force back to her studies.
As she turned ffiteen, she met Hirai Momo, and after a series of conflicts with the rest of the members and Momo, finally was able to establish her own place and have the approval of the members in 4Dream. Even while performing, they were able to aquire training experience by practicing their rapping, dancing and singing in the group, with Hana being the resident composer and lyric-writer of the group.
At the age of seventeen, after the group had disbanded, she was spotted by a YG scout and invited to YG after a private audition in which she wowed the judges with her rapping skills paired with her self-composed song. Thus, she then flew to Korea alongside with Momo and was met with the harsh reality of trainee life.
Despite that, Hana never gave up, and was determined to achieve her dream. After three years of training, she was announced to be in the lineup of a new girl group named BlackPink, along with some of her most best friends. However, at nearly the last second, YG decided that the group needed a vocalist instead of a rapper, and given her training period which was shorter than Rose's, she was excluded in the lineup.
Heartbroken, Hana thought of quitting the group and continuing her own life (as her entrance exams were passed with flying colours and she had a few offers from some of the most prestigious schools in Japan), but ultimately continued her dream, which was thanks to her brother's insisting. She continued to train harder than ever, forcing herself to be better and better, and finally a new girl group was announced; E2W. With the rest of the four members already announced, would she gain a place in the group after her hard work?
