ELABORATION —
HE IS ART. as an artist, one of his best assets was being creative. with an imagination that provided him with a sea of imageries that he brought to reality through his brush and paint, he's constantly building up a world of his own, in his mind, with colors that worked differently and a land that was different from the actual world he lived in. he took the visage of what he had seen before and put his own spin to it. he tends to think out of the box and would frequently bring out quirk remarks due to it ( albeit not enough to really be called out zany in any sort of way ).
he was also as easy-going as he was creative. generally laid-back, he's someone who was open-minded and at ease. he learned that it was better to take it easy rather than think too much about it. plus, he showed a more friendly nature through it and would easily calm down others due to this nature of his. this also allowed him to be free of nerves around strangers, in front of the cameras and freely lets him who he wanted to be ( well, as long he didn't start thinking too much about the dark insecurities he held ).
he's also humorous, providing witty remarks, goofy faces when he felt like it, and an overall brighter atmosphere due to his creative jokes. despite it being a romantic show, he frequently added a more comedic flare to it that brought smiles and laughter around him. and again, due to his easy-going nature, he did certain funny acts that most people, who weren't used to cameras, to give up due to embarrassment.
a perfectionist to the core, he would always be making sure his art would end up as perfect as he had imagined it to be. he puts all his effort in his work and would make sure that it conveyed the beauty he had seen in his mind. he wanted to showcase the full extent of what gorgeous images he saw on his own. this was why he was diligent in his art. albeit, this trait had its drawbacks. specifically, when he started to care less about everything else but his art. fortunately, he's been making sure that he doesn't let it take over his life and would try his best to focus on the people around him too even if he was focused on it.
YET HE IS BROKEN. an escapist, someone who would drown in his own imagination and fantasies when the world started to become bleak. he tried to ignore the dark truths and would rely on his art to take his mind away from it all. but this was what cost him the loss of his previous girlfriend, and it was why he wanted to rid off this part of him. but he couldn't help break away from it as the darkness of the world still pained him in certain ways. perhaps, that was an exaggeration—but that didn't make it any less painful. it's become an unfortunate habit that when the people around him started to dislike him, he would lock himself in his room to draw and to play with the what-if's of a better place.
yes, he was easy-going, but he was insecure too. it isn't exactly the viewers he constantly found himself to be worried about, it's more of his art that he worried about. he's no longer assured of his capabilities in it, yet he loved it too much to give it up. after becoming a failed artist due to a single artwork of his, he became worried about what he created. the only thing that kept him going was that he knew one person in this world would always praise him for his works. being himself in front of the cameras weren't a problem, but the confidence he initially had for his art lacked greatly. the self-depreciating comments about it and his hesitance to really draw anything he wanted made him hold back. but his insecurity wasn't as bad as before ( considering that before he would be more quiet and unsure how to be around people ).
despite being a humorous man, he was quite morbid. he liked to think that he didn't like to think much about the dark and negative sort of things anymore, but he couldn't help but wonder. what kind of monster perfectly conveyed the horrid nature of humanity, imagine how disgusting it would be if he painted the worst extent of the prejudice people held, and so on and so forth. most people would stray away from these truly dark truths yet he wanted to put it on a canvas. but he knew they loathed that, and he found himself to be scared to show this kind of artworks to others. he mainly kept these paintings to himself and he would rather keep it that way. overall, this was a trait he kept to himself.
finally, he was disorganized. people tend to think that artists were on the messy side and he was proof that yes, they quite were. he puts his items randomly on anything he could place it on, yet he had a knack for knowing where it all was. in fact, when people sorted it out to be cleaner, he starts to not know where all his items were despite it being right in front of him. he was a man who lived with an organized chaos, which was probably why ( most of the time ) he didn't forget the important items he needed to bring.

BACKGROUND + CURRENT EVENTS —
• 01. born to a normal family that consisted of only him and his parents, there's nothing much that would set him apart from the others around him. but then he came across a world that gave him that certain spice to make him a tad bit different from the norm—a beauty called art. but that wasn't what really made him in love with it. no, the reason he drew, the reason he painted, the exact reason why he fell in love with art— was because of the little girl named park minah, who praised him and became friends with him due to his artwork.
• 02. minah and he would grow up with each other, knowing each other's secrets and trusting each other with their lives. he loved his parents, but unlike minah, they didn't support his dreams ( even though they had praised him greatly when he was young—what hypocrites ). and at times, he finds that due to that, he and his parents would distance themselves more. plus, they doted more on his younger sister ( who's five years younger than him ). he didn't mind, though ( plus, his sister was adorable and he couldn't bring himself to be so jealous of her ). and he had minah who was his anchor and support. she made him feel fine and he knew that it's not that hard to deal with these situations as long as she was with him.
• 03. they spend all their days together in one way or another. they go to the same schools and together they aspired to be something more. she wanted to be a script writer of a drama that would be known to anyone no matter how much time passed, and he wanted to be an artist that would become as well known as van gogh. many said they dreamt too much, aspired something they couldn't achieve, but they were tenacious and had each other.
• 04. after high school, they dated each other for feelings bloomed and they both wanted to be more than what they already were. after college, they were practically married ( since they decided to move together you see ) and many ( including their families ) thought that they were meant to be. always together, always loyal, and known as 'relationship goals'. they believed that they were soulmates, that the red string of fate had tied them together, and that they could face anything together. innocent and so in love, fate wondered if they could maintain such feelings even if they were thrown into a vicious typhoon of hellish situations.
• 05. not even a year after they lived together had he found an opportunity to obtain fame as an artist. so joyous and wanting to show the world their love, he created a gorgeous artwork of what he saw that was their love. putting all his emotions and love to it, it became his grand masterpiece. people started to take more notice on him and he grew more fans of his artwork as he posted more pictures. minah was ecstatic and she told him that she was right to believe him. as his fame grew, he found his parents to be more approving of his job. his sister, who had grown up to be a spoilt and proud girl, rather envious of the attention shifting to him but not causing drama because he cared for her greatly and she knew this was something he always wanted. and for a brief moment, everything was perfect.
• 06. it happened because he had always been aware of how bad people could be. he saw news of violence, of deaths, of wars and worse. he saw humanity and how they shunned and slandered others, how people had a sort of dark mindset that made them all so ugly. yet he found beauty in that treachery. he called it his next masterpiece, and his wife agreed it was beautiful. but when he showcased it to the public, people strayed away from it. they sneered and looked away. no one wanted to approve of the grotesque monster he painted that represented the wretched nature of them.
• 07. he became desperate for the sea of praises he once had. his parents grew negative about his job yet again, his sister grew distant as she watched him crumble, and even minah found her patience running thin. he's constantly locked up inside, painting and painting something to regain his fame. minah tried to bring him out but he was insistent on staying. eventually, he would come out of his room but see no minah. instead, he found a letter she wrote stating her feelings and that was how they broke up.
• 08. coming back to his sense, he decided to step out and reconnect with the people important in his lives. he apologized for his actions and tried to make up for it. his parents and he discussed this life as an artist and he had begged them for a second chance. they had begun with rejections, but he persisted until they eventually gave up. his sister was angry but again, she could never stand too long being angry with him. she still created snarky and insensitive remarks about that phase of his, but he took it all in and never snapped back. now there left only one person to fix his relationship with.
• 09. he his sibling was most likely behind it. didn't know how she knew, but judging by his sister's satisfied look—she was most likely behind it. 'it' referring to him being notified by an unknown person of a request of a painting of 'something that they could believe in'. he was initially scared to paint again, even if he fought hard to be able to be an artist with his family's approval. but with the support of his sister and the drive to make it up for that woman, he painted. he painted her, he painted his regrets, his guilt, and apologise. he tried to convey the message of how sorry he was and soon would deliver it to her. in return, he received a message from her—"i was right to believe in you."
• 10. everyone moves on just as life continues. his sister gained a boyfriend she would constantly gush about much to his amusement. his parents were a married couple dealing with him and his sister. minah had been constantly sending him distress messages ( they had fixed their relationship that it was fine to be friends again, albeit rather distant when together in real life as it was still rather awkward ) due to gaining feelings for a guy she met during a trip to europe with her family. and him? well, he's an artist who was gradually crawling back up to what he used to be. albeit, not enough to call him a celebrity. his family finally decided to the something about, and he quote from them, 'his sad, single arse'. they would force him to apply for an upcoming dating show ( fun fact, minah was the one who informed them about it ) which his family and minah considered to be a rare vacation for him.he's rather unsure at the beginning, but a part of him longed for what he used to have with minah ( the love and the warmth, not her and their experiences together ). so now, he anticipated and couldn't help but wonder if he made the right choice by going along with it.

• FATHER; SEUNG JUNHO. the man had understood the pain of failing his dreams. he once had a dream to be a singer but due to the company's circumstances—never managed to debut. because of this, he didn't really think any job revolving around entertainment and art ( for he also had a friend who suffered the fate of a failed artist life ). but he ended up connecting too much with his son who continued to fight for his dreams. that spark had always made the man less strict and this was why he decided to talk to his wife about how, maybe, it was fine to give him that second chance.
• MOTHER; SEUNG HAEBYEOL. his mother was someone who worried a lot about her children. she's constantly been fretting over them even when they become independent adults. it's because of her worries that she initially disapproved of his occupation ( but thought that he was quite safe from anything bad to happen when he first rose to become relatively well-known in the art industry ). she was also stubborn and tend to believe that what she thought was right, which caused the distance between him and her to grow in the first place. but she was kind and caring, especially to her family. which led to her deciding that he could be given a second chance.
• SISTER; SEUNG SORA. she's on the feisty side, and also rather spoilt thanks to him and his parents. she was always treated with the utmost love and only started to mature during late high school and onwards. he doted on her a lot and she rather felt guilty and embarrassed of her past self who would throw temper tantrums when he didn't pay attention to her. she's still quite blunt and tactless at times as she would bring up what they called the 'worst phase' in his life. he didn't let it get to him ( but it still hurts no matter how much he tried to ignore the pain ). overall, they've become closer after that dramatic ordeal and would frequently marathon romantic films together ( it's both of their guilty pleasures and they both cry a lot, they don't know where they got that from because their parents surely weren't like that ).
• ( EX-GIRLFRIEND ) CHILDHOOD FRIEND; PARK MINAH. they couldn't bring themselves to leave each other. albeit, they no longer could really feel the same innocent love that they had once felt for each other. now, they remained as friends but it still was sort of awkward to actually meet in real life. but in the world of online chats, they still talked like they did before and he was much too amused about her newfound love. but now she's the one who's going to be amused for she vowed she would watch the show just so she could mock him about any actions that she deemed was so unlike him ( she and his sister would actually do this together, he's preparing himself for their comments as if he was heading to war ). basically, they still managed to maintain a nice connection and were trying to past the awkward stages so she could smack him in the face without feeling too uncomfortably guilty.
