messy locks that usually gets covered up by his hat. his bangs tend to be wispy and curtain like.

STYLE:

practical outfits meant for long journeys, he also usually ended up using what most could call 'standard pokemon trainer outfit'. pokeball symbols and all. he had a preference for blues, reds and black when it came to colors, though. he also had a traveling backpack with a sleeping bag attached to it. inside his beg were the necessities ( such as clothes, food, and pokemon related items ), a few comic books, and the sort.

LIKES:

! tteokbokki.
a dish frequently made in home, but one he never tired from. it was also his mother's best dish, and he could replicate it thanks to her passing down the recipe to him.

he has a bunch of caps, they were a part of his brand and he would never take it off unless sleeping ( well, if you don't count him covering his face with it at times ).
! traveling.
one of the reasons that he loved about being a trainer was the journey. coming from a small town, seeing the world outside was always so exciting for him.

although he's not the most talented in making puns, he absolutely would guffaw at such jokes. something about puns just impressed and amused him.

well, anything detailing someone's history. he loved to know the journeys people took and used it as a sort of motivation for himself. it should be known that these were one of the few kind of essays or books that he could read without sleeping.

he's a lover for colorful, bright and amazing visuals that converyed a story well. superhero comics were the kinds he loved most.

DISLIKES:

! mushy food.
he absolutely hated the texture of some mushy food. he was alright with mashed potatoes, but things like porridge did not sit well with him.

mr. i'm-gonna-be-the-next-champion was the sort to get really wary and paranoid after hearing horror stories and the sort. the fact he was the lone human in his travels did not help. when he started to feel paranoid, he'd bring out all his pokemon and use them as a fortress of safety.

his biggest regret? not having an ice pokemon to use as his own personal and natural cooler.
! rejecting others.
it's like he physically couldn't. it took such a stain and toll on him to say no at times. unless, of course, it's something he really couldn't agree with ( he was not going to be involved with crime anytime soon, okay? ).

there's a saga about this somewhere, it's a miracle he managed to even get six badges. but all there's needed to be known was that he had the uncanny luck of coming across something that delayed him from progressing him quickly.

training was something he could manage, but the general idea of losing some progress or failing and having to start over had always bugged him immensely.

HOBBIES:

one of the skills his mother made sure was ingained into his brain before he headed out of aramore town. it became one of his favorite hobbies to do.

due to his love for autobriographies, he thought it would be cool to record his time as a trainer. from journal logs that he wrote, to videoing some moments or talk about what happened.

as a trainer, he often had to, well, train his pokemon. he'd make his own regime for them, such as having lucario chuck large things at his other pokemons, increasing lucario's strength and accuracy as well as the others' agility and accuracy.

HABITS:

! cussing.
his mother had a foul mouth, his father was desensitized to cursing. it led him to saying swear words often.
! tipping his hat up when impressed.
he had to make sure his hat didn't block his sight so he could witness what ever happening clearly.

more specifically, when he's not focused on something like reading. being used to moving about most of the time, it felt odd when he wasn't.

when you become close to him and he considered you a friend, prepare to be called by an insult. it's surprising how a 'hey, ' can seem so friendly when you do.

although it's not something he always did, but to those he had lost to at least once before challenging them again—well, he deserved to dance in joy, right? jumping on the spot, fist pumps, shoulder rolls and hip shakes, those were the most common moves.

FEARS:

! horror.
superstitious mother made it all the more hard for him not to believe in horror stories. this led to the man being especially clingy to someone when he gets scared by such stories. he'd openly admit his fears when you catch him in the act of being paranoid, but definitely tried to not show it otherwise.
! losing his items.
one time, someone stole his bag and he was terrified of losing everything he had as it included things such as his records, trainer card, money and the sort. fortunately, he caught the culprit and ever since he was a lot more cautious with his belongings.

AT FIRST:

he walked with confidence, head held high and a promise to win. he was one to open his mouth and let crude words fly, cussing like no tomorrow and implementing it to his speech by habit. calling others by insults when he was close to them. he always came off as too proud, loud proclamations of achieveing victory, showing off his wins and depicting the visage of a cocky bastard. everyone knew, though, that this man worked hard for his goals and would do anything for it. everyone also knew that he was very reactive, over-the-top gestures flying about like the victory dances he had after winning a fight. however, despite the bad image he gave off, it's also well-known that the chances of him agreeing to hellp you out when you ask him something is nearly 100%. no one knew exactly why, but hey, at least he agreed to do the job.

UNRAVELING:

take out the moments of cockiness and his crude words, you get a kind-hearted boy trying his best to be, well, the best. he was diligent, and truthfully he hated to see others hurt, down, or just negative in general. as such, it made him a pushover who more or less agreed to any requests you give him because he couldn't say no. it definitely hindered his journey at times, or left him in a bad situation, but he survived and that's how he's still kicking and positive. one should also note that he's very independent. his mother had made sure he was ready for the harsh life outside and knew how to take care of himself or else she would have locked him in aramore town forever. and although he was cocky, it was merely bravado and to push himself to achieve goals. he said he was going to win and be champion as a reminder, not to show off or shove it in people's faces. he was accepting of his losses, every time he lost to someone he would come back after training harder and try, try, and try again. in fact, when he finally won, and he did all his dances and proud exclamations, it was all a show of his joy and shock. sometimes he didn't believe he could, no matter how many times he said verbally otherwise, so it was always wonderful to him when he did succeed.

AN BYUNGHO:

he came off as rude, a fellow you want to avoid, someone who stood out in a bad fashion due to how he acted outside. coping mechanisms to push him forward depicted a rather bad image of him, but still that did not stop him. he was kind, he was diligent, and he was honest despite it all. and even if others pointed it out to him, he didn't think he could change. his cockiness, although not a good method especially since it could hurt others ( and when it does and he noticed, he'd be guilty and ready to apologise ), was something he relied on to stop him from doubting himself or getting nervous. although apologetic, he would not change himself so easily and felt that this as a whole was just how he really is.

CHAPTER 01:

he lived in a quiet town, no remarkable features except the vibes it gave off. son of mundane parents, a former trainer for a father and a foul-mouthed mother that co-owned a small restaurant. mundane was what it was, and he didn't really care how dull it was.

most of the time, he loved to play with his father's companions. his father's partner blastoise was the one to usually watch over him. sometimes, noivern and electabuzz stuck close as well. one of the ways that they could keep him from gettng bired and to stray away was to put up a show, or turn on the tv to show of pokemon battles. it piqued the young boy's interest, and when he had met the other children in the town, he found many like-minded people that just fueled his desires to be the next champion, a top trainer.

there's not a touching reason for his goals, it was simply agoal he wished to achieve. after all, it seemed really cool to do battles, but it would be even more amazing to be champion. simple wishes with a long and hard journey to reach it, one that his parents reminded him frequently, but he would not be deterred.

CHAPTER 02:

he bugged his father a lot to figure out what the trainer life was actually like. he'd get all sorts of books and the sort to learn about pokemon and understand how they work. admittedly, as soon as he saw the samurott, he couldn't help but think it looked awesome. he fellt sorry for blastoise, but samurott was definitely now up there as the coolest pokemon.

his mother was a tough woman but also babied him a lot ( despite cussing all the time and teaching him all the bad language as well ). she made sure he was ready to be independent. teaching him how to cook, how to clean up after himself, and even threatening him that if he didn't do such acts well that she would ban him from going on a journey. after all, how could she trust him to come back if he couldn't even take care of himself?

as such, he found himself being able to do chores to near perfection. his father even admitted that the young man was even more ready than the older when he was his son's age.

CHAPTER 03:

his life was plain if he had to admit, no cool backstory or reasoning behind his upcoming journey at all. he was bored, didn't want to continue on the restaurant business, and thought pokemons and trainers were cool so he wanted to be them.

he's doted and loved greatly by a rambunctious duo for his parents. when he was about to leave to waymill city with his father to get his starter, his mother bawled and put him into a death grip for a hug as she wailed for her baby to not leave. his father had to pry him out of his mother's hold because he was starting t get blue in the face and laughed off his wife's worries.

but then when they reached waymill, he had to drag his father to the professor as the man latched onto his leg and pleaded him to think about it more. was the young trainer embarrassed? yes. did blastoise save him from being humiliated anymore by pulling his father off and over his shoulder? also yes. at least, he managed to get his starter and made sure his father would stop sniveling and entrusted him to blastoise to bring the man back safely.

and so, plain old byungho with nothing to him had ended his boring life as he began a journey to be the best there was.

THAT NIGHT:

he had wanted to take a rest int the resort as it was one of the nice locations for taking a break and wanted to battle some trainers from gracidea before heading out to other regions. he was also trying to get cash so he would be more prepared for a most definitely long journey ahead.

most of the night he was doing battles, taking a break and playing around with samurott who enjoyed the environment, as well as researching all he could about other regions. it was nerve wracking for the man as he never really ever left gracidea. however, if he wanted to beat sungho's a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do. however, he did have kamilla who came by after finally getting permission to go on her journey. she was the other reason he was in the resort, as the woman had decided to meet with him there before they go on a journey together.

one swing of the sword incorporated in its armor can fell an opponent. A simple glare from one of them quiets everybody.

LOG:
blue was his very first companion. he got blue through professor won, simple and easy. he had always wanted to get a samurott after seeing one on tv, and as such, he was dead set on getting an oshawott.

it's through the journey that he got close to blue. understanding and relying on each other to get by. he was pretty sure he could understand blue too, even when blue was being one heck of a cunning bastard. truthfully, without blue, he'd have gotten into a lot more danger considering the fact that the sly pokemon made sure he didn't get caught with unsavory people if the samurott could help it. blue felt like a brother he never had in all honesty, and that's why he knew this was his partner for life. the two got each other's backs and was ready to go through another wid adventure together.

generally a loner, but reliable as he looked after the rest of his pokemon ( and byungho ) like a father would. could be quite the cunning one when he wanted to be, blue had to be if they wanted to keep in track, really.

LOG:
technically the third pokemon he befriended ( right after lili, a lilipup who now stayed with his parents ) at the age of fifteen. birdie, too, did not have an exciting background story. a simple battle with the once wild pidgey, capturing her after using a few pokeballs, and that's how birdie joned the party.

bold and presevering, birdie was the one to keep the mood up and knock ( or peck if she didn't want to use her precious wings ) anyone's head when they start to doubt themselves.

birdie was the one who boldly reprimanded byungho whenver he did something quite idiotic. and despite not caring much for a pokemon's appearance, he did feel that birdie was his prettiest one ( to which she was very proud of ). birdie wa also one of the few who would envelop him in a hug as she was affectionate and seemed to chirp at him in a cooing fashion when he did something that amused her.

one variety of the mysterious mega stones. have houndoom hold it, and this stone will enable it to mega evolve during battle.

the flames it breathes when angry contain toxins. if they cause a burn, it will hurt forever.

LOG:
the fourth in his team, caught when he was sixteen. so, doge was a bit different from the others. when he was but a young houndour, the pokemon was part of a large litter of a strong trainer's houndoom. said trainer had been one for dramatics to find the right chosen ones to take in the babies that the old man could not take care of. so, obviously, byungho successfully accomplished the man's tasks unknowingly by being a man who couldn't say no to someone in need of help. that's how he reeived a baby houndour and learned some neat tricks about them. the retired trainer had also gifted him a mega stone believing that the kind boy could achieve mega evolution for whenever doge will grow up to a houndoom.

that's how he got a new companion and a nifty item in one shot. with care and growing bonds, he managed to not only get closer to doge, but was capable of achieving mega evolution with him.

doge was quite the serious one, mainly because doge looked up to the reliability of blue. also felt that someone had to take the serious role considering the crackhead trainer they've joined with. however, doge did have the tendency to make a ruckus when emotional, to which it had definitely led to some interesting adventures.

byungho sometimes irked the pokemon with his eccentricities. usually doge can read the atmosphere better than he did, having moments of stomping on the triner's feet when he was getting too cocky or rude in a situation that doge felt should be taken seriously. however, byungho's one to never back down even in the face of one of doge's infamous tantrums. doge had even almost burned him, which was not a good thing considering what a houndoom's fire can do. it did make the pokemon more careful even when emotional, or at least careful enough to not harm his trainer. doge knew, though, his trainer was kind and mainly worried about him getting into problems.

technically the sixth member, at the age of nineteen. there was this daycare you see, being terrorized by some unfriendly people. somehow, he and sungho ( who he first met during this incident ) got roped in ( okay, well, he kind of ended in it because he couldn't say no again ). after dealing with the unsavory people, the daycare owners had gifted sungho and him with a riolu egg. this was how he and sungho ended up sticking together for some time as caretakers of the twin riolu eggs. the fact that when the riolus hatched and was attached to each other from the get go led to an extended time of travelling with each other.

fun fact, she was named one because byungho claimed she was the stronger one between sungho's and his lucarios. it should also be known that there was no official battles between the two because byungho felt bad pitting the lucario against her twin.

one was a gentle soul, had always been the cinammon roll to protect. however, she was one tough cookie as well and was ready to do some good old battling and try her best to win for her trainer who loved her dearly. having one since she was an egg, there's a sort of father-daughter relationship ( sungho will say that it was more like a mother-daughter relationship, though ). he doted on one, had always seen her as one of his babies and had moments of trying not to cuss around her at some point. now, she was still one of his children and he still tried to carry her in his arms and loved her dearly ( also a very supportive, cheering ~~mother~~ father ).

LOG:
the seventh addition was caught when he was twenty-two. zebra had been caught as a zebstrika in the later parts of his journey. zebra had been someone he noted to be stronger than the rest of the wild pokemon he saw and after missing her the first time due to a lack of pokeballs, he rstocked and tried to find her again. it took a lot of chasing about, but his persistence prevailed and he managed to catch zebra ( he even had to get a great ball to get this wily zebstrika ).

zebra had given him a hard time during the struggles to capture her mainly because she had been moody that day. now that she got used to this new team, she turned out to be quite bashful, albeit prone to being quick-tempered. a sweet pokemon, one who needed a lot of hyping up from byungho to feel confident and get used to battles.

byungho was a general hype man to all of his pokemon, but he went all in for zebra since she was so shy. he was, however, sometimes embarrassing her which led to her angrily zapping him lightly. she was also the kind to easily be charmed by other cool pokemon ( the older members of his pokemon team being prime examples ) and liked to hide behind byungho due to her bashful nature. they act like bickering siblings, but it all works out in the end.

LOG:
not too long after freeing one of his pokemons, he had an open slot to fill his team. in truth, he was hoping to get someone like zebra, alreaedy fully evolved or at least in second stage. it was when he was twenty-four that he encountered an axew in a cave. fun fact about the cave story, he was lost, there was a wild pokemon that he annoyed by accident, he got caved in and seperated from his pokemon ( only birdie and zebra were out of their pokeballs ). then, he met a small axew who became his friend in the cave and was interested in the strange human that was, well, byungho. it was axew who helped him out during his time in the cave. protecting him from wild pokemon with byungho kind of training the other but not really ( "use tackle! ing purple hand move thingy! YEAH WE BEAT THAT 'S !" ). thankfully his pokemon were competent ( sometimes they're a lot more responsible than him ), and managed to get help from some other trainers and more to get him out. however, the axew clung to him and byngho, being a hidden softie and weak to small pokemon that gave him nostalgia about baby riolu, decided to bring the axew along in his journey.

baby was quite the timid one, similar in nature to zebra but less prone to zapping him. instead, baby was more stubborn and was very determined to be his protector. it was absolutely adorable.

baby gets a lot of the doting treatment. he also was the one byungho was trying to focus to train now considering how far behind baby was next to the others. however, baby was determined to evolve and grow big like the others and be a better protector to this weird human who trusted in him and gave him these weird tackles that didn't hurt but was soft, warm, safe and nice.

TRAINER LIFE:

in contrast to his life before being a trainer, this moment he lived now was far more chaotic. when unsupervised and not having someone tough ( read: his mother ) saying no to others for him, he pretty much got himself into some troubles here and then. from helping pokemon and people alike, getting into several troubles like somehow involving himself with some guy with issues on how they treated pokemon, and more⁠—he definitely lived quite the exciting thirteen years of the latter section of his life.

it's through that, that he matured more, though. truthfully he was a lot more confident when he was young, and he wasn't truly aware of the dangers that could happen in life. after many adventures, he did come to accept that this was just how life was, unexpected and one to not iunderestimate.

truthfully, his current set of pokemon wasn't really his original set. in fact, at the beginning, he had an oshawott and lillipup ( who ne named lili ). however, during one fight with a wild pokemon, he endangered lili's life, it definitely knocked him off of his high pedestal. fortunately, he managed to heal lili and send her back to his parents to take care of the small pokemon in his stead. another would be his flygon ( named bug, because he still couldn't accept that flygon wasn't a bug type ), that he had befriended not too long after getting a riolu. in bug's case, it was because the flygon had been one that was about to be captured by some shifty pokemon hunters. luckily, he got the type advantage against the hunters, saved the flygon, and ever since bug had stuck to him because...well, it couldn't really remember anything. it's not too long ago that they found bug's former pack. knowing that it was his family, and one bug reconnected and had gotten close to when hanging out with them, he decided to free bug and let him stay with his pack ( "someone gotta'be ing strong to protect them from those ty s right? and i trust that you'd be the one." ).

so yes, byungho lived quite the wild adventure. it's due to it that he found it hard to reach the next gym the usual time it would take to do so. moreover, he didn't win gyms from the get go so easily all the times. there was a lot of rematches, very much so. but oh well, at least he had six badges now. he had made friends, but generally he liked to stick to going solo.

they know her as the golden queen, with her charisma, lightning pokemon, and her beautiful facade. in truth, she's more rude, sarcastic, and one to think that most people are a bore that only makes connections as it was useful to them ( never for anything genuine ).

BACKGROUND:

won the sinnoh region's contests to become a top coordinator. a model due to her beauty and was following her mother's footsteps. finally decided to retire, no matter how much her mother protested at the age of twenty-five. forced into the life of contests because of her mother, but in truth was more like her deceased father in terms of wishes and attitude ( and her mother hurts every time she sees that because not only dos she remind her of her love, but she doesn't want her to go away so soon ).

RELATIONSHIP:
one of the people he met in his journey who he still frequently talked to. she was a top coordinator who had retired from pokemon contests at twenty-five.

originating from sinnoh, she had decided to take a vacation in gracidea where byungho and she met each other. it was mainly the fact that her pachirisu seemed to really enjoy his houndoom's presence that led them to each other. frankly speaking, byungho was like a culture shock to her. blunt, uncaring, cocky and crude—she would never let herself associate with someone like him as those were not the standards. however, she saw him dote on pachirisu and his houndoom, embarrased when she caught him, and despite his rude wording, he was an overall nice fellow.

he also was genuine, a lot more than anyone she met. honest and hard working, easy to read like an open book, heart on his sleeve. for a girl who lived a life more full of keeping up facades to look perfect, he as a breath of fresh air. this was how they interacted more, with her tagging along in his adventure during her own vacation because she deserved to do what she wanted in her break, right?

as such, they grew close and he showed her new things. crazy adventures, something fun every day, and soon she opened up as well. bickering with him, dropping the pretty little princess act, going rough and knowing he won't leave her, merely accept it with that stupid bright smile of his.

an unexpected confidant, and the most fun she had in her life. eventually, she had to return to sinnoh. they exchanged contacts but even then she found her not wishing to leave. even the usually unaware byungho noticed it, asked her if she really wanted to go back. offered her to join in but...

she still had to confront her mother, still loved the woman even if she had forced her into this life. and maybe after she convinced her, she could return to journey with this kind man who showedd too much of himself.

"see you later then, i've got no doubts that you can do what you want." he laughed lightly, smile softer than ever before as he brought her to a hug. and that's the first time her heart ever skipped a beat. the woman developed a great big crush on the man so idfferent from her but accepted her. and in the end, they did meet once more in gracidea before deciding to travel to other regions.

byungho, personally, saw her more as a fun sister he never had. he loved to , but he will always support her. he's oblivious to any stronger feelings she may have of him and usually when it's just them, he'd get a light smack to the arm for it ( even though he never got what was wrong he just dealt with it ).

byungho and sungho went way back during their early years as a pokemon trainer. when no one knew sungho, he had met the guy because the two of them had to share a cave due to the heavy rain that occured that day.

it's there that the two bonded, and by bonded, he meant showing off their pokemons in the most friendly way they could whilst it was raining. despite how sharp the older's words were, byungho only snapped back with ease and not so much bite. somehow, they learned to communicate through the language of -ry and not hurt each other's feelings in the process.

heck, they agreed that maybe, just for tonight, they would huddle up with their pokemon for the sake of warmth. the day after, though, being the very invested pokemon trainers they were, they decided to battle each other.

sungho defeated him, but byungho did not let it deter him. no, instead he kept on tagging along with sungho so he can win against the smug man. said smug man found it pretty amusing, and so the two began to battle and train with each other to better themselves. sungho also managed to learn the many intersting insults and use of curse words from the constant stream that byungho spouted every time he lost. still, sungho had seen how determined byungho was, how he pushed himself onwards and didn't give up even if he fell all the time.

it's also with byungho that the two found themselves in strange adventures a few times. sungho realized that despite the way byungho presented himself, he was more of a kind pushover with idiotic tendencies. byungho also found out sungho didn't help a lot with that mouth of his that tend to make everything worse than not ( "why did you have to ing flirt with the god damn boss's daughter you insolent fool!" ).

however, in the end they did part ways after a few months due to the fact byungho and sungho were in different stages of the league. still, they decided to give their number to the other and keep in contact. byungho had been aware of how sungho progressed much faster, and seemed to be reaching the goal to be of champion first, but never did he let such news deter him or try to push sungho down. instead, there was always words of encouragement laced with insults, of promises that he'd get there at some point and beat his and they could become the most obnoxious duo switching the champion position just because they want to win against each other.

surely, soon enough, sungho was up top and byungho was still trying to better himself. even when sungho became a celebrity of sorts, byungho still treated him the same. he never flaunted it, only making some offhanded comments that seemed more of a normal byungho declaration than a promise to a friend.

sungho, though, was aware of how difficult it was to improve in gracidea. as a supportive friend, he was the one who called byungho to meet up so that the younger man could leave the region to better himself. although it's worded in a less nicer manner, byungho understood what he meant. still promised he'd be back to beat his and peg his ego down, but began to plan to leave.
