❁ CASUAL; thick hoodies ( he's most fond of this one light grey hoodie he had that had fur inside of it, it's just so soft ) with a long sleeved shirt underneath it, a comfortable, thick and slightly baggy pants, and finally, the same kind of shoes he usually wore for school. at times,
❁ NOTES; in all honesty, he's a fashion disaster. he's often mixed up which pair of clothing item he should use, resulting in mismatched shoes or the like. either that or he comes in with his pajamas ( there was a time he came to school with his fluffy bunny slippers, he had been sad because he had to wash it since it got dirty ). he also frequently had a camera hanging around his neck and earphones plugged into his ears ( albeit, the latter's used so he could act as if he couldn't hear people ). despite that, he tends to actually make the look work.

❁ BUBBLEGUM/EARPHONES/CAMERA BOY; when they haven't really gotten to know his name, this was what people usually referref him as. sometimes, though, it's more of a nickname by people closer to him since he always had those three items on him.
❁ DAEBYEOL; he's nicknamed after the korean mythological figure who was the son of cheonjiwang. they didn't name him after the god because of their belief that naming him after daebyeol would bring him bad luck, but nicknaming him was a different story.

THERE’S A WISE OLD MAN IN THE BOY. he’s a calming presence, a soothing existence that brought peace to the people around him. it’s easy to relax next to him as he exudes a laid-back aura, and the fact that he’s open-minded made some feel that it’s alright to be themselves around him. it’s also because he tends to notice and was very insightful of things, somehow having a knack of figuring out who people are without the need to go past the cover. he’s also wise, seemingly older than what his age and appearance suggested. with his perception, calm nature, and wise thoughts, he tends to give off the vibe of something along the lines of an old man who had reached enlightenment. not to mention that he was charming—as distant as he could seem, he definitely had a charm to him brought by his quirks that caused people’s eyes to stray to him.
HE LACKED AGGRESSION AND THE DRIVE TO CONNECT. he’s withdrawn, generally keeping his distance away from others. it’s mainly since he gets tired after socializing too much—preferring time alone and left to his own devices. he’s not exactly afraid of what others thought of him, just naturally on the quiet side. but his introverted nature tends to make others see him as cold ( combined with his appearance, he looked even more intimidating ). he’s also severely passive, disliking conflicts and finding it to be a nuisance. albeit, his passive nature made him go along with things too much and rarely fighting for his own opinions or defending himself in any way—even if it hurts him.
WHEN WILL THE DREAMING BOY EVER WAKE UP? it’s almost as if his mind is stuck in fantasy, eyes seemed a bit dazed and a certain ethereal and dreamy tinge to his movements and voice. he was constantly in a dream as others go through the bland reality, yet he’s still grounded by truth and gravity. but that wasn’t what made him odd. the reason people found him strange was due to his peculiar beliefs and trust in the superstitions. he’s subscribed to a horoscope site and would always prepare the lucky items of the day. if it was to say the lucky color of the day was neon yellow, that the lucky item was a remote control, and the lucky food of the day was durian—he’d religiously don at least an article of clothing with that color, bring a remote control with him, and eat durian. not only that but he generally believed in mythology and the like—a fanatic, actually. he even nicknamed people after myths. but, aside from his strangeness, his selflessness was something which landed him troublesome situations. he’d do anything for his parents, and he always took care of others before himself ( to the point that he didn't want to bother others with the fact that he's deaf ). he avoided conflicts because he wanted the best for all the sides as he felt they all had their own story and reasons. plus, he just didn’t like to hurt people—period.
IN THEIR EYES, HE’S A BLESSING. his parents had been so joyous when they found out they will have a child. but when it was revealed that he was born deaf, they had been filled with worry of his future. that’s why they dote on him endlessly and loved him unconditionally. so he would always know that no matter what, they would be there for him. they would patiently teach him how to speak, letting him follow their lips and form a sound. if it sounded off, they would tell him about how that wasn’t how it’s supposed to sound—then he’d repeat it in different ways until he got it right. for a deaf boy, what he saw was his form of communication. that’s why he had a different way of managing how things were supposed to sound. he associated colors to tones and when he writes, he wrote with a variety of colors in order to recall how it’s supposed to sound. it’s an odd way, but that’s how he dealt with it. in his parent’s opinion, though, they found it absolutely adorable and as creative people themselves—supported this form of studying how to speak. they had also been superstitious people who told him that if he wished to get the good end of karma or to be lucky, he had to keep mind of certain beliefs. because of that, he wholeheartedly believes in the supernatural and myths.
IN THEIR EYES, HE’S AN ODDITY. to his classmates and majority of other people actually, he was strange. sometimes he messed up in his talking, he kept on slowing down the class because he asked the teacher to wait for him, and a few kids had bullied him for that. other times, it’s because of the strange outfits he wore, the fact that he used colored pencils to write instead of a plain pencil, and so on and so forth. but he greatly believed in karma and didn’t want to hurt anyone or fight against them, so he ignored them by daydreaming. due to his lack of response, they stopped confronting him as they become more weirded out. but as the years go by and they all grow up, they started to find him as a charming sort of peculiarity. plus, his insanely perceptive comments gained him a following who trusted his quips ( especially after the countless of times he pointed out the snakes of the class, which no one believed at first since they just begun the school year ).
IN THEIR EYES, HE’S AN ATTRACTION. after deciding to get a job for once since his parents wished for him to interact with more people, he became a sort of attraction in the cafe. he was another addition to the visuals of the cafe ( which the cafe seemed to rake in endlessly ) and his accented words were adorable to the customers. he also was known to have brought the strangest items and outfits to the cafe, quickly gaining the name of ‘handsome weirdo’ due to that. and it was also in the cafe that he became well known for his intuition, due to an incident where he revealed that a couple was cheating on each other. ever since then, some people came to either test or ask him anything that would use his perceptive nature.

❁ he's a fan of anime such as yu yu hakusho, ranma 1/2, sailor moon and digimon ( the first and second ). the most recent anim he had watched would be fairy tail, gekkan shoujo nozaki-kun, dangan ronpa and kokoro connect ( which isn't that recent, but he's been diverging away from shows and focusing more on making memories with family ).
❁ he loves to take pictures of everything and anything and making it a true beauty. as someone who couldn't appreciate sound, he became more appreciative of what he could see and didn't want to miss out the beauty he saw in life.

"but i guess...well, i've also been told by a lot of people that i exude calmness? in a busy city and in a busy cafe, wouldn't it be nice to have a serene moment, yes?" he mused. "and despite how disorganized i may look, i do my chores to my best effort since i don't want to trouble anyone with a messy one...and what if they're germaphobic? i don't want to trouble them..."
and then he paused as he realized that he also applied for baker and needed to promote that skill too. "oh, and i'm good at baking too. i love to bake with mother and we have a special apple pie and brownie recipe you see. i gave one to you too last time and you devoured the whole thing. plus, it was a hit during a charity event me and mother joined. we still got people asking for it, but guess they could buy it from here now."

he didn't have a fixed ideal personality as he believed that if he was to fall in love, he would do it without any ideals. it's because love was fixkle, and he knew he couldn't really decide who he'd romantically love. plus, he cherished family more so than he would ever cherish his romantic relationships ( but if he really loved them, they would be only second to his parents ). but he did have a criteria, and all he needed was for them to respect and have a nice relationship with his parents, plus understand that in his heart his parents comes first.
in all honesty i don't mind how this goes, but i guess to give you a more accurate depiction of how he would be in romantic settings, these are some ways on how it could go:
❁ if he was to fall in love, it's probably because he saw someone at the height of their aesthetics level. as a person who appreciate visual beauty greatly, he would admire them and ask for pictures after gathering his courage as he did not want to trouble them. he's probably nickname them after aphrodite they were a her or adonis if they were a him. he would also be abit shy around them and would love to just take pictures of them all the time but that would make him look like a creep. he does try to get close and would always be there for them if needed.
❁ to sum it up, he's just very soft. and he would probably break himself by doing and caring so much for them. if his l/i hates him, he would give them space and avoid them because he didn't want them to feel hate. he's selfless to the core and would only stand up for himself when his parents were involved. but generally, he gets more shy and wanting to take pictures of them since he just wants to forever remember their appearance.
i'm perfectly fine with any ending. break him, give him the best life ever, or make him the one who rejects—it's up to you! as long as it suits with the flow of the story really.
