25th Annual Hunger Games - DISTRICT #2 Lee Kijin

Lee Kijin
The softest boy in the stone-hard district
15
District #2

1. Why was your character chosen to compete?
Yeah why??? T.T

I guess the story is a bit more that what many wouldn't expect. A prank, gone horribly, HORRIBLY wrong. A prank which leads poor little Kijin in the arena of death.

Of  course, many of the stronger, strong-willed, complete oppisite of Kijin, children were filled with the lust of the games. Trained from the moment they could stand on two feet to fight with the ferocity of a lion and mercy the size of an atom. Of course, Kijin never even could hold an axe properly without falling over and was weak-willed compared to the other children. Of course he was targeted by the other competitors, because he could easily cry at the drop of a sword, and he was meek compared to them.
"You would be a disgrace if you were chosen for the games son." He was told this by his teacher.  The others would sometimes add their own slice into the nightmare by saying that he WILL enter the Hunger Games next year starting from the age of 12.

Now came the Quater Quell, where they could CHOOSE whoever they wanted to enter the games. Oh boy. So the other children had planned a scheme. A stratagem to somehow scare Kijin, and so a plan was formed. To have Kijin watch all of those in his class put in their votes for him, and studpidly, they would count. So on the night of the voting, the kids dragged him out of the comfort of his home in his bare clothing, and foreced him to watch, every indivdual in his class put in their votes, all written Lee Kijin. He was eventually let go, and ran home bawling his eyes out and fell into a deep sleep with tears stuck in his eyes.

But came the reaping, came the day, slightly confident that he would not be chosen. As many know, Jo Hansool, was the favoured one to go into the games , so it was clear that it would be him. Of course everyone still had to come in reaping attire, and prick their thumbs for identity. They were finishing counting up the votes, but at the end, it wasn't Hansool called.

"And the Male tribuite is.... Lee Kijin." His worst nightmare had come true.

Of course, no one in his class expected that they would top the votes, how Kijin was the top one surprised everyone in distrcit #2. But now he's there, many have already made his grave.

2. Tell me more about your character's personality and background:
SNEAKY, POLITE, GREEN THUMB, CRY BABY, SENSITIVE, WEAK

Lee Kijin was born on the reaping day of the 10th Hunger Games, the day where his eldest brother was repaed and killed in the Hunger Games after a lucky district 12 boy was able to trick him and drown him. He was the youngest of 4, his eldest brother who was sent into the Hunger Games when he was 18, An elder sister who has moved away from the family and now has a family of her own, and an older brother by 5 years who had escaped the threat of being reaped two years ago, and now he works in molding mason brick molds . And then Kijin, the youngest child. He was raised up by his sister, since his mother worked as a trainer for future tributes, and his father was drafted to be a peacekeeper for the capital. So his sister had to raise him insted.

However, Kijin wasn't raised as a warrior, he was raised wanting none of that. He learned to love nature, he would always run into the hills to find the last bit of nature before the Officials of district 2 kill it. He admires drawing and 'connecting' with the mountains and finding scared wildlife, like cats. Whoever when he was at training, it was a nightmare. He was signifiantly weaker than EVERYBODY in his class, and he couldn't fight like the rest of them. So of course, kids being kids, his peers bullied him scared of fighting, add to the flame that Kijin can cry very easily, even at the age of 'when he was meant to become a man'. Sometimes he come back home in tears, but no worries, hopefully he can cheer himself up, somehow, someway.

3. Tell me about your character's daily activities:
Kijin will always find ways to truent the fighting lessons, he is sneaky for an emotional rich boy.  When he is able to get away he enjoys nature, going to the mountains that border District #2 and finding the last bit of nature he can find.  He loves finding flowers and wildlife to just play with and then comming back at dark for dinner. However, ever since his sister moved away to have a family, Kijin has begun to live in the wildlife. Okay not in the actual wildlife, but in a house nearby the woods. Which is how the bullies are able to find him. He eats whatever the merchant down the road can get him and dresses in the same torn up clothing from when he was 10. His pants have become shorts and his top seems to still fit him after 3 years.

4. Family history / Relationship with your family
Raised by his sister,  because his father was drafted as a peacekeeper when he was one, and his mother who works as a trainer, although she had never been in the Hunger Games, in a matter of fact, when the games were announced, both Yoonji and Inseong were in their 30s, so of course they had safe haven from the games, so they gave up and just decided to have kids, for the good of the games. When their eldest was reaped and killed, it forced Inseong away from the family and into the capital, and giving extra training to any district 2 tribute who passed him. Yoonji just returned to training the future tributes. His parents don't know that Kijin isn't a fighter, yet from what they have heard he is.

Father: 58Kim Inseong, a peacekeeper in the capitol, started peacekeeping by the end 11th Hunger Games. Inseong may seem very cold and brute, but he is very intelligent. He will always try and give extra training to furture tributes, ONLY OF DISTRCIT 2. He was responsible of many District 2 tributes winning, but they can never give him credit. He doesn't know his own son is about to enter the next games.
Mother:  56Lee Yoonji, a trainer for future tributes.  She is described as fercious, fierece and fearful. Sheis strict and stands to no one being chicken in her classes. Her soft spot? Their is none, but she does have a slight hope that none of her children will NEVER have to be in the games. She hasn't seen her children in a while, but she knows about Minri raising Kijin, and she is under the impression, that Kijin is a 'strong' fighter, but not the best. She would still cry if any of her children were called into the games.  As for the letters Inseong send her, she will always send back.
Sibling(s):
Lee Hanjin/ Deaceased, eldest brother. He was described by the capitol as a respectful warrior, he was classy with his kills and not at all savage, nicknamed The Knight. Kijin never knew of his eldest brother until Minri told him when he was bullied for not being as 'great as his brother'. He died at the hands of a lucky district 12 boy who was able to drown him.
Lee Minri/  27, eldest/only sister. She raised Kijin all on her own starting from the age of  13, on top of that she had to have a roudy 6 year old to deal with. Because of this, she is very motherly and caring, but sometimes she is a bit to forgiving of Kijin not being a warrior, unlike his mother. Now she has her own daughter and a husband who was just skipped being a Peacekeeper, and know works in the transport of the mason bricks.
Lee Hojin/ 20, Older brother. A quircky but strong character, you could say one of Kijin's main bullies. He would always pick on his 'forever' baby brother until he 'learned to man up'. Hojin two years ago was dissapointed that he didn't get into the games.

5. Do your character have a speciality that might be an advantage in the arena?
Although he would never be able to hold a weapon in his hand, he is very agile and definatly one of the more, if not most, flexible tributes. Cartwheels and flips he has got in the bag, and if  he gets tired of running, on flat terrian he could do handsprings to get away, but also using a strong (but somewhat weak) kick as defense   Hiding is true forte, being able to cram into small places and climb into the higest places. And his stamina? Through the roof, he is quick and he can out run you, he couldrun for at most 30 minutes, maybe 4 minutes at full sprint, this is what 10 years of torment do to you. He would win the Hunger Games by out 'running' everyone. And if he were to die, it would probably be at the hand of another tribute, not of an accident.
