making friendships isn't one of seongjin's forte. she doesn't particularly dislike having friend. but she's just isn't that interest? or more like she just being a hard nut to crack. the exterior of her having a cup of tea in the middle of busy cafe always make her seem to be the most approachable person ever. all huddle up at the corner of the cafe. with every kind of sweet existed in the cafe. it seems pretty easy to hit her up with conversation right. but once you actually sit down in front her, the air will change 180. she will just mind her own business and don't actually care to start ask you why you even there. at least not until you ask first. from then, you'll see how disinterest this lady got to even know your name. even with now friendship she has, she tends to stay out of their business and only come when she's the last resort available.
one could tell that seongjin isn't the type that accept people's kindness very well. it's just hard for her to actually believe that people want to be friend with her because they just want to. as disinterest as she get, she just couldn't help but question people sincerity. whenever she sees someone helping the other, her mind just go auto-pilot and she observes the surrounding then conclude the real reason of their intention. be it real or not, unless you aren't friend with her or she don't know you at all. the image of you trying to be an attention wh*re just plaster in her head.
everyone need a little bit of pain to keep they sane right? even if she lacks of emotional support, she'll definitely be able to provide some feedbacks or criticisms. you just know that she won't ever lie to your face. even when it comes off as a bit harsh, the way she talks about it and the way how she look entirely relax just didn't make it sound as harsh as it seems to be. you can honestly trust your insecurities with her. she might judge you a bit here and there; making some stupid remarks, but at least she won't peer more than been shown. which sometimes just what you exactly want.

seongjin didn't really has an exciting or interesting childhood. in fact, her innocence as a kid was broken by her parent. at the age of 6, seongjin learned that there's no such thing as santa. not that she caught one of her parent sneaking into the living room and left present under the tree. in fact, during the christmas eve dinner, when seongjin was excitedly chimed to christmas song, her parent out of nowhere told her that santa doesn't exist. the whole lot present she got was placed by them. and the cookies that almost every child place on the table with a milk was thrown the next day because of the ants. it very weird for a parent to actually break something innocent from their child. but that's just how her parent work. their brutally honest and realist. it's a fact that even her brother couldn't do anything against it.
but that wasn't all that that got rob from seongjin. while it was easier for her brother to understand; seongjin never understand why a good couple like her parent decided to break. it wasn't just a normal taking a month break. but a divorce. 2 years after her santa's magical had been broken, her love magical was broken by the sudden announce of divorcing by her parent. the parent who she actually thought would be with her until she's old was gone. all of the fairy tales that she read and being read for — the happy ending where the princess will live happily ever after with the prince — it was like a very harsh reality slapped across her small delicate face. and it just left her with a hollow feeling of not having both of her parent figure together with her. she never know that a broken family can affect a person so much. at the age of 8, han seongjin lost her trust in love the moment when she saw her father took all of his clothes and stuffs out of their home and straight to another woman's arms.
growing up, there wasn't one guy who she want to fall in love with. hook up, might be a few. but none of it actually melt her heart into believing in love anymore. the main reason why seongjin doesn't trust people and had a hard time to trust them.

after the departure of their father, sooho had practically fill in for the lack of father figure in seongjin's life. even if he's lacking and was still immature at some point, he's none less than a good brother and probably the closest father figure she ever had. when their mother decided to have a years trip to overseas, seongjin had been fully under care of her brother. and somehow the fact that she will not have her mother during her years of high school didn't really bothered the girl. in fact it had brought the two siblings closer and sometime they do act like a pair of silly brother and annoying sister.
it is another usual day for the two sibling to just hang out by theirself in the corner of a cosy cafe near their house. seongjin enjoying her usual ice tea while sooho opts for his super bitter coffee, espresso. but their relaxing time doesn't last long when a plate of cookies is places on their table with a loud thud.
''i accidentally bought extra cookies. it was too much so i thought that i could share it with you.'' a woman with a flowery summer dress takes her place beside sooho, inviting herself while flashing a coy smile which put seongjin in a great distaste.
''oh, that's very nice of you. seongjin, say thanks to this nice lady.'' sooho being the polite one pushes the plate for his sister; priority.
seongjin lets out a cough along the word 'flirt' in between, earning a hard stare from sooho.
''excuse me little miss?'' there he goes again. acting like a discipline father again.
seongjin folds her arms, ''we are not poor. we can afford our own cookies. if it just your attempt of wanting my brother's phone number. why don't you just ask directly instead of using this poor cookies as weapon. i mean what they ever did to you other than serving your plalette. giving the sweetness to your bitter, lonely life.'' the older woman gasps.
