My First B.A.P Concert OHMYF*CKINGGOD

YA'LL.

My first concert-actually being in the room with them for the first time. I am typing this to you guys Monday night, and my heart is STILL trembling.

My ears are still adjusting to everyday sounds and acoustics after being in that powerful presence for 2 hous and 35 minutes.

If I entered cardiac arrest RIGHT NOW, 2 days before my 27th birthday, I would be at peace in nirvana hahahahaha.

I went to the last show, the Seoul Party Boom Baby at the  Samsung Bluesquare Hall. The show started at 3pm.

My journey started Sunday morning(well technically Saturday night, I kept waking up on the hour EVERY hour because Ii was so excited and terrified that I was going to sleep though my alarm) by me leaving the house and hailing a taxi at 8 am. I live in Iksan, and it is a 3 hour train journey for me. I like to travel by train-less traffic, and my imagination gets ignited by the things I witness out the window as I fly by scenary on the train tracks and such...

............................................................................................................................................................................................

I got to Seoul with no problem, and the subway was amazing as well-I'd forgotten what it was like to live in a city with one hahaha.

I didn't have to ask for directions once-Interpark, the website that sold the official tickets for the event, was SUPER clear about where to go and which route to take from the subway/bus/terminal. Also, as soon as  I got out of the subway station all I really had to do was follow the random stream of people dressed as Matoki/holding B.A.P Merchandise LOL.

The venue was well organized outside-you could see the official merchandise, the big banners showing the show, and all of the fans that had donated rice and things to charity in B.A.P's name.

It was BEAUTIFUL-there were fans from EVERYWHERE.Different countries were represented, and to hell with age-there were some women walking around that were clearly in their 50's and 60's, but they didn't give a .

Everyone was being led to stand into neat lines according to their ticket and seat placement. I was in the second group, with my ticket being B 404.

I have to give a shoutout to the staff-they were well organized, and spoke multiple languages for the different fans who needed assistance.

We got inside and I realized just how close I was to the stage. On the website they made the venue look HUGE- in reality, no more that like 500 people, staff included, could fit in that room. I myself was 25-30 feet away fom the mainstage-needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised.

The venue stated that there was a DJ warming us up for about 30 minutes before the show-and I am sorry, my friends, but in this moment I can't remember his name hahahaha-I was pleasantly surprised to see that it was a duo team-there was a Black man acting as the hype man on the mic while a Korean man rocked the turn tables. They did their job and did it well. We were also given glow sticks, so we felt like we were in a rave/club-it was fun though, but that room got warm quickly.

Finally, it was time for B.A.P to come out...

...........................................................................................................................................................................................

YONGGUK:Yongguk becomes two people when he is on stage-when he is rapping, his power and charisma shows clearly, and his dominance isn't questioned by the other members. His low voice, combined with the volume that the speakers were on(it was so loud, and we were so close, that my back teeth shook every time the bass drum hit down), possessed our souls and wouldn't let go of our brains.

However, when it came to the talking sections, Yongguk was more than happy to stand in the near shadows and let his bandmates do the talking. He was encouraged by Himchan to make comments every now and then, but he was happy just to listen. His fan service got more courageous as the time went by-he graduated from shyly waving to some members, to walking downstage(picture a capital letter I, and that was the whole stage) and walking slowly enough to hi five/grab hands to people, as many as he could. He also had a pointer stick which he used to point to the fans that he could see, but were too far to touch, and he allowed some fans to touch/play with the pointer as he went by.

HIMCHAN:Chan Mother is SUPER DUPER friendly-like, he and Daehyun's fanservice was the best/most intimate of the whole group. He came downstage to the fans A LOT, laughing and walking slowly, waving to everyone, smiling carefully and making sure no one was hurting themselves as he looked at us fondly. We were surprised when they pulled out water pistols-he led the playful attack on us and helped us cool down alot by spraying us frequently from his little toy gun. He was also helpful to Zelo and Jongup, when they had to choose their best dressed contestant from the stage, adjusting the fans seats and such, and helping with giving the fans their gifts.

He took it way easy with the dancing, which was expected, but it broke my heart to see it in his face that he WANTED to be at 100% with the others, but he literally couldn't do it. We could see him pop a pill during one of the breaks-but he came right back out and kept going like it was nothing. My respect for him skyrocketed sooooo much after that. His speaking voice is not as low as Yongguk, but it is very close-it was nice listening to him speak and laugh with the othres, and his singing was pleasant as well.

DAEHYUN: You can NOT not like Daehyun. Even if he isn't your bias, he is just hilarious on his own. His energy comes from somewhere deep within,as he could literally go from earth shattering high notes to laughing and cracking jokes with the others. He came RIGHT OFFf the stage down the stairs at times, letting the fans come and pat his head/give him gifts/hold some part of him, he truly loves his babyz- it is a mixture of fanservice and genuine affection for us, and it warmed my heart. He and Himchan ordered the staff of the arena to pass around water through the crowd, especially for our area(we were in standing, there were no seats). When a fan fainted in my section due ot the heat/excitement, they had the staff go easy on the smoke specials and passed out even MORE water after that.

He is genuine when it comes to his chatting time with s, putting his arm around Jongup and paying close attention to any of them when they are speaking. He had a lot of fun with the water gun battle-especially when some fans had brought guns of their own and fired back at BAP. He went and came back with water bottles, drinking like 60% and splashing the other 40% on us. He made sure we were having fun all night. At the end of the show, he and Himchan came out and said by to the fans that were milling around the exit before getting into their vans and leaving.

YOUNGJAE:Youngjae is the master of sassy. He sings, and he sings with control and technique, but he also knows when to let loose and have fun, especially if one of his dongsaengs are around or if Daehyun is nearby. He is naturally witty, and whenever there was a talk, or the bar segment especially, he would occasionally fill in the chatter that I guess  Yongguk was supposed to provide. He also cracked jokes about the content of the concert, stating as the solo stages were kept PG-13 because-the fans found out-that Jongup and Yongguk's mom were IN THE AUDIENCE WITH US.

Youngjae also came down to wave/talk/touch the fans, but he didn't stay as long as Daehyun did. He did kneel and chat with some of the fans that were close to the stage, making us laugh when the confetti came down.  I don't know if he is cursed or what-but he ate a piece of confetti every time it came down and I will never get tired of that replay.

JONGUP: Jongup is so awkward that it HURTS- but it is precious to watch. Much like Yongguk, his stage persona is very very very veeeeery different with his real life personality. During the chats and such, he was shy, and cracked some jokes here and there, with either Daehyun or Himchan guiding him with conversational cues, to make sure that Jongup was still in the conversational loops at time. Even when it was his turn to speak, Daehyun/Himchan kept on either side of him, leaning on him and making him feel better when he spoke out to the fans. He came out to do fan service, but he was shy and kept to the main stage mostly. He did have a bit of fun with the water battle, though.

When that music started though, he changed so fast it was SCARY. He whipped, grinded, twisted and danced to his heart's content.  He didn't hesitate to go all out, since he helped comensate for the space that Himchan opened up. He sung well, concentrated on his breathing, since I believe that he still is finding his own strength when it comes to hitting those high notes. He remembered all of the dances and used his stage persona well. He leads the Maknae line well, and it's clear to anyone watching that he is the surest member in his body when it comes to performing.

ZELO:Zelo is precious as well. It's so hard with him-like, I want to treat him like a child because he looks like he's 12, but when he is performing his deeper voice is coming out and he changes, just like Jongup. Zelo has come into his own confidence, and his own confidence well. He came out a lot downstage on his own, waving and rapping, making eye contact as long as he could take it with some fans before that old shyness came creeping in-it was sooooo cute to watch. Hhe speaks his mind well, even repsecting/insulting his hyungs at the same time, which is hilarious because whenever he did it, the others would look at him and Grandpa Bang would have this proud look on his face. The rappers stood together a lot-completely comfortable in each other's presence.

When it came to performing, Zelo brought this hybrid of realness and fantasy, as he walked the fine line of being that shy maknae from soooo long ago, to a rapper who could do it all on his own. He also sang his solo song, which was 93% in English, "Shine Like A Star", which was fantastic because his voice shook at the beginning of the song, but he gained momentum and courage as it went along, finishing with a strong note. He also dances extemely well, him being aware of his limbs at all times and also help covering the gap that Himchan left open.  When the water battle start, he was definitely a child, having revenge shots between himself and Youngjae, who is the reigning king of Sassy.

There was a DOUBLE ENCORE.

Let me say it again:DOUBLE ENCORE.

The first encore, we were asked to sing Happy Birthday to Yongguk, who was pleasantly surprised as we held up banners with his name and we sang it well. They performed two songs, and then they walked off, with us still singing Wake Me Up in the crowd. They came back out again, completely casual, in hoodies and Jongup even ate a doughnut, waving to us slowly. They performed well, at 110%, and we wer NOT ready to see them leave, but we were satisfied.

ALSO, I got to see it for myself-SASAENG FANS.

THEY ARE NO ING JOKE.

When Himchan and Daehyun said their extra goodbyes and got in their van and pulled away, 5 or 6 girls and one guy who WERE not with the B.A.P crew screamed at them, ran to the parking lot after them, and got into 2 cars and began to follow out aver the B.A.P van.

Anyways, I am typing this quickly and I had to get this out because it's just a filling.....so filling experience. I made new friends, felt like a community, got to experience it first hand. They are our boys, seriously. We've got to protect them, and keep them safe in our own way. Happy Birthday to me!!!
