0-100 real quick

So this is another life update and this time, crazy stuff happened.

So on Sundays, I work in my pharmacy from 9-5, your basic 8 hour shift. It's always super slow and super boring. Like the most exciting thing that happened yesterday was getting a free dollar because this guy who bought scratch offs was like "If I win any money, you get half the jackpot" and he won $2 so he actually gave me a dollar.

I got a papercut while working and I thought that was the only thing that would be bothering me for the day. When work was over, the pharmacist I work with usually gives me a ride to the intersection where I take the bus. I normally have to take another bus to get to that intersection but she gives me a ride from time to time so yeah.

There I was, getting out of her car when I noticed the walk signal. Obviously, I'm going to cross the street so I did. I was speed walking in case there was a bus approaching the stop when this guy was turning. I noticed him turning and I thought that he would stop since he saw me crossing so I kept walking but next thing I know, the car hits my right leg, right by my pelvis, and I'm immediately knocked to the ground.

My mind just went blank because not only did I hit my head on the concrete, I GOT HIT BY A ING CAR.

Luckily I didn't pass out so I was able to sit up afterward but I was in shock so I couldn't do anything but hyperventilate and try to recap what was going on. My pharmacist's husband came out the car to see if I was okay and a nurse and an EMT were right in the area so they rushed over to help me and assess the situation.

And you know what really pissed me off? The guy driving the car didn't even get out to see if I was okay. All he did was roll down his window and stare at me through his sunglasses. He probably thought it was nothing serious since I wasn't bleeding or crying out in pain but I was in shock. I couldn't do anything but hyperventilate and just look around because , a car hit me.

Bystanders also quickly called 911 and the nurse and EMT were calming me and trying to help me so I was very thankful for that. My pharmacist also came out to see if I was okay because she and her husband witnessed everything. I was really scared but the nurse was very understanding and she spoke to me very softly.

The cops and the fire department soon came to do their thing, take down a report and stuff like that. I answered all their questions even though I really felt like crying but I had to. And then came the moment where I called my mom before the ambulance came because I wasn't just going to not let her know which hospital I was going to.

As you can already tell, she was freaking out when I told her I got hit by a car. She was screaming and like yelling for my brother to hurry up and drive to the intersection where I was so they could catch me before going to the hospital (this was like "but I'm washing my car" and my mom just yelled at him because who cares about the car).

The ambulance arrived and the EMTs did their thing, checking to see if I was okay and they soon transported me to the hospital. But before I went, I gave the pharmacist my mom's number so she could tell her where I was going since I couldn't really be doing anything in the back. I was brought into the hospital and my hands and feet were tingling and I felt kinda dizzy from all the crying and hyperventilating I did. I was a mess.

My mom and brother soon arrived and when I saw them, apparently my heart rate just shot up. I was relieved to see my mom and I was ready to just burst out crying but I continued to stay strong since I didn't want to worry her. A doctor soon came to check on me and I had to tell my story again and he told me that he was going to make me get an x-ray done in case I did break or fracture my pelvis. But he wasn't too worried about it because when he was rocking my leg back and forth freely, that was a sign that I was okay but he wanted it done just in case.

I had the x-ray taken and when I got back to my room, my boss and his wife (my previous boss) were there talking to my mom and my boss was like, "Did you do this because you didn't want to work an extra day next week?"

He was trying to lighten the mood up and I honestly was not expecting them to be there but turns out, the pharmacist gave him a call when he was at the gym and he quickly came over with his wife. The pharmacist was about to come visit me too after dropping her kids at her in-laws but he told her not to and sent her a picture of me smiling to alleviating her worrying.

I got my results after a bit of a wait and lucky me, nothing broke or was fractured. He gave me a handout explaining what kind of injury I had (iliac crest contusion) and was like, "Don't worry about it, you're not dying or anything. You will feel pain tomorrow since your adrenaline is still running high so just take ibuprofen for a few days and you should be good."

So long story short: I got hit by a car but I just basically bruised my hip.

Now that my body has calmed down, the left side of my hip is actually sore—which is weird because I was hit on the right but it's probably from the impact of falling down— and my neck hurts too so I'll probably have to check that out. But, I'm alive and well!

And on a brighter note: I'm gonna be going to EXO's Newark concert for a second time! Yay! It's in April so I have plenty of time to recover so I'm super excited about it. I even bought their official lightstick!

So yup, just wanted to share this little story with you. I went from a teeny papercut to the pink to getting hit by a car.

0-100 in an instant.
