PERSONALITY

— Minnie nor anyone in Minnie's life can remember a time in her life where she was too shy to do something. Confidence seeps from her skin and all of her actions, though not in a cocky way. More like she doesn't care what people think of her. And that's obvious in her personality. She has no fear or shame in her body whatsoever. If she seems someone sitting by herself at SM or at school, she's the first to go over and talk to them to see if - A. they're okay and B. they want to be her friend. Everyone deserves a friend and a chance at happiness, Minnie always has thought. When she meets said new person, she often instantly wins them over with her adorably high voice, sweet and bright attitude, and accidental aegyo personality. Nowhere in her is there a shy bone, and there's always a smile on her face no matter the situtation. A smile has been scientifically proven to brighten someone's mood, after all.
— She's not afraid to pull a prank on or poke fun at the other group members. It's all fun and games; however, that doesn't mean that it doesn't get on people's nerves or hurt them ever. But, of course, Minnie is quick to shower them in genuine apologies. Not only does her mind go faster than , causing her to trip up on her words, but she also legitmately trips often. It's normally not a problem during dance practice, but she quickly becomes known for at least one literal slip up each time they perform. Of course,  with clumsiness comes disorderliness. Sharing a dorm with her is the worst for a lot of the other members because of how often she cleans aka never. Her side of the room is messy nearly 100% of the time. But Minnie refuses to clean it for she "knows where everything is this way, and everything would be messed up" if she cleaned it. Lastly, Minnie doesn't seem to understand just how loud she can be sometimes. People around her find themselves constantly having to quiet her down when she's speaking as to get to her to speak at a normal, socially-acceptable volume.

BACKGROUND

— Born Park Minhee on December 30th, 2000 in Daegu, South Korea to two loving, young, successful parents, Minnie was truly a bright child. In later years, four siblings came along, claiming her as the oldest of five. The large family lived relatively close to other family members, so the lot of eleven children often played together and became very close-knit. Minnie became an idol and role model to all of them, and she made sure to always set the best example to ensure they grow up to be good people what with their parents not there to do it themselves. If something ever happens to any of them, she's the first to make sure they're okay and to fix whatever happened even if it meant standing up to a bully or something of the sort. The reason being that her parents were often away for business in Seoul, so she was their mother. That also meant that her and her siblings spent the days at their aunts and uncles' houses. The business her parents partook in consisted of her father's role as a well-known actor and her mother being a music producer and songwriter.
— From the very beginning, Minnie was in love with the thought of performance (her parents always bragged, saying she got it from them). She began ballet and hip hop dance lessons as soon as she could walk. Piano and singing lessons followed shortly after. When she turned nine, Minnie got her siblings and cousins together to help her set up a little stage in their basement while her aunt and grandmother recorded her. This would turn into the audition tape for SM Entertainment. It took a bit to convince her grandmother and aunt to let her send it in, but they saw the passion in her eyes and decided it's never to early to pick a career path.
— Given her parents' status in the celebrity world, Minnie was used to attention being on her. But it was completely different when she went to SM as a ten year old, and all of the trainees stared at her. But Minnie was able to prove everyone's doubting thoughts wrong the minute she started dancing in the practice room. The lessons had definitely paid off on the little ten year old, and she put even some of the most experienced dancers there to shame. Her singing still had some work needed to be done, but she had a long time to perfect it considering she would be a trainee for the next six years. By the time Minnie finally debuted, everyone in SM knew her name and had fallen in love with her goofy personality. She was given a chance or two to debut, but it didn't end up working out until she was 16, almost 17.

— given how early she started her trainee and the exposure she got before that even, her Daegu satoori was overtaken by a Seoul one, but Daegu still comes out when she's nervous
— it upets her when people say she's only in SM because of her successful parents
— favorite trainee moment was when SHINee's Lee Taemin praised her dance skills
— when she genuinely smiles, it's an open mouth smile, like Somi's from I.O.I
— extremely affectionate especially towards other members - always holding one of their hands, hugging one or linking arms with one
— leaving her siblings and cousins for Seoul when they're in Daegu was the hardest thing for her to do

 

RELATIONSHIPS

— Mother || Park Minji || 38 || Music Producer and Songwriter || Charasmatic, Creative, Amitious, Passionate, Loving, Impatient || Not Very Close || Minnie and her mother rarely see one another from the fact that they both are very caught up in their careers even if their both in Seoul. Even so, Minji couldn't be more proud of how far her daughter has come in these few years and promises to be their for her group's debut stage when it finally happens even though it may be a false promise considering it's hard to get around the schedule her assistant gives her.

— Father || Park Minhyuk || 39 || Actor || Charasmatic, Charming, Confident, Organized, Honest || Not Very Close || If it's possible, Minnie's even less close to her father than she is to her mother. At least Minji attempted to contact her children every once in awhile. Well, actually, Minhyuk did try, he really did, but as he's a hot actor at the moment, he rarely gets time off. Minnie knows that, but she can't help but feel hurt by his absence. Nonetheless, she's excited to she him in the crowd from the stage even if he said that he probably won't be able to make it. Minnie's hopeful anyway.

— Siblings || Park Minho, Park Miyeon, Park Miran and Park Minseo || 13, 7, 10 and 4 respectively || Eager, Excitable, Proud of Their Sister, Intelligent, Sweet, Cute, Loving, Mature || Would Do Anything for Each Other || No matter what she's doing, every Saturday at 7 pm, she makes sure to facetime her siblings (and cousins) to update them with her life and to get the scoop about their lives. There's absolutely nothing that she wouldn't do for those four kids, and the feeling is mutual. They're closer than most siblings considering Minnie had to raise them.

— Cousins || Park Gayoung, Park Sunmi, Choi Eunbin, Yoo Jieun, Park Jaemin and Choi Haeil || 4, 11, 15, 8, 8, 6 and 12 respectively || Sweet, Gentle, Patient, Confident, Proud of Their Cousin, Eager, Kind || Would Do Anything for Each Other || These six kids push their way into frame whenever Minnie calls on Saturday, wanting to see the person they miss so much. They often don't get to see Minnie save for their birthdays or Christmas. Again, these six kids would do anything for Minnie and vice versa.

— Best Friend || Kim Hyerim || 16 || Sarcastic, Intelligent, Loud, Outgoing, Excitable, Quick-Thinking || Like Sisters || Hyerim has always been a huge supporter of Minnie and even introduced her to all of the kpop groups that she adores now. They've been  practically connected by the hip since before their first year of school and share a lot of common interests including not likely to be known simply as their famous parents daughter. Hyerim, being a song writer, is also trying her luck in the music world but hasn't gotten her break yet. Her parents include only her dad (Kim Jinyoung) who is a famous actor, a co-star often with Minnie's father.

"I think that I have a lot to bring to the group even if I seem young. I'm experienced. Maknaes are always underestimated at first but become some of the best in the group. I think I can do that too! Oh, oh, and I know many people just see me as Park Minji and Park Minhyuk's daughter, not as who I am as my own person, so I hope people will start to see me for who I am. I'm not just here because of my parents, after all!"

I really love that someone finally did a SM group applyfic; all of them are always BigHit it seems. As much as I love BTS, I also have an equal love for literally all SM groups.
