— Hana is rather pale and has long, thin legs. She really doesn't have curves and is overall skinny. She also has a comfortable tomboy-ish look. But she still maintains some girly traits such as using just as much makeup as every other girl in the group and always having her nails painted. Flannels, tank tops and baggy shirts dominate her wardrobe. It's rare to see Hana in a skirt unless it's for a concept. She also virtually always has either headphones around her neck or one of the earbuds in her ear with the other hanging below even if music isn't playing. To top it off, there is never a time when Hana doesn't have jewelry on whether it's bracelets covering both wrists or a few rings.

PERSONALITY TRAITS

Postive : humble, generally confident, passionate, dedicated
Negative : brutally honest, sarcastic, stubborn, reactive

PERSONALITY

— Hana had always been a very bright and enthusiastic child. Everytime she walked into a room, it would instantly brighten up the mood of everyone there. That was until the accident that claimed her parents lives. From there, her mood always seemed the opposide of what was normal for her. She became much more stubborn and wouldn't listen to most people if she thought she was right. She stood up for what she believed in even if it wasn't widely accepted and wouldn't back down even if it hurt people in the process by accident. Also, when something happened to Hana, she didn't take the time to think over what to do before doing it, instead she just acted. It ended up with many bad situations and hurt friends in the process. It seemed like she often hurt her friends in different ways, such as with her brutal honesty or her even her sarcasm as well. Hana didn't really know when it was the best time to spare people's feelings because she was taught from a young age to be honest. It back fired. Though, thankfully, her friends always were able to forgive her because they knew her flaws and sarcasm where what made her Hana, and they loved her even so. Hana never intends to hurt anyone with what she does or says though. On the inside, she'd go as far as die for the people she cares for.
— Even when Hana got to BigHit and was intimidated by people who seemed better, she never lost her confidence. She knew that she did what she does well and nobody could take that from her even if they tried. But she never let her talents get to her head as to never let down her grandfather who believed in modesty. Hana made she not to get a big ego and always stayed humble even when getting compliments on the work she so passionately created. Again, another thing nobody could take from her was her utter love and passion for music and writing. She'd dedicated the majority of her life to writing her feelings and only just found out how to share it with the world, and that was when she realized her dream. Every word that she wrote and that left her lips during a rap was filled with the passion practically seeping from the pen in which she wrote with.
— Hana can't stand when someone is being put down for something that they love or believe in and is more than willing and capable to step in to defend that person even if she doesn't know them. She wouldn't ever stand back as a fan (or anyone really) was under fire online or in person.

BACKGROUND

— Born Minami Hanako in Kyoto, Japan on February 12, 1997 to two young, loving parents. Considering her mother was originally from South Korea, often the small family of three would take trips to Busan where the majority of his family lived. During those trips, Hana preferred to stay close to her grandfather instead of with her cousins. The two became practically best friends instead of family members over the beginning years of Hana's life. Hana was a brilliant child once she began school and excelled in the curriculum. She found a love in writing even though her parents had a plan for her to be something more "respectable" when she grew older. Her parents sadly wouldn't be able to see her get to high school; they were walking in town one day, and a car with an intoxinated driver came speeding around the corner through a red light and hit the couple dead on. Sadly, neither made it out of the wreck.
— With nobody willing to take Hana in Japan, she went to live with her grandfather in Busan, leaving everything she had built up in Japan. She previously beaming child no longer had that glimmer in her eye after what happened. She turned to writing once again, wanting to vent but not wanting to bring her grandfather or friends down. Of course, as he was her best friend since birth, she couldn't ever feel sad when around her grandfather.
— Around that time, Hana discovered Korean rap artists. Their words were so powerful to her, and it wasn't like American rap that all her friends liked. It had meaning and left an impact. It helped her through the tough times, and when she took a look at the poems she wrote, she thought that maybe she could help someone else like her someday if she put her words to music. She saved up for a guitar and used her grandfather's piano and taught herself to play the both of them in an attempt to compose her own song. At some point, she stumbled upon Rap Monster and soon BTS as well. Every thing they composed had a powerful meaning behind it, and when the company they were apart, BigHit, of held auditions for a new girl group, she couldn't help but run to her grandfather. He knew of how passionate she was for writing and for music, but her parents wanted something more for her. Hana was far from expecting the hesitant reply he gave her and felt crushed. With the audition date getting closer, she grew more upset, and her grandfather couldn't stand to see that. He decided that what she wanted for herself was more important than what others wanted.

RELATIONSHIPS (FAMILY, FRIENDS, & RIVALS)

— Grandfather : Ahn Jungnam : 58 : level-headed, careful listener, moral, bright, open-minded : the closest friend she has
Her grandfather, whom she calls "Jiiji", has always been her biggest supporter. Since she was born, he felt blessed as it's his only granddaughter. He loves her more than anyone and would move the world just for her. Of course, he wanted to give his daughter her wishes of Hana being more than a writer, but he knew how much Hana loved what she was doing. He was in no place to stop her from her dreams. And now that she's as far as she is, there's no bigger supporter than him; he's the type of man to buy shirts with her face printed on them to give out and wear at Xpression's debut.

— Friend : Kim Namjoon aka Rap Monster : 22 : leader, protective, passionate, caring, diligent : very good friends
After Hana joined BigHit as a trainee, she made it her mission to meet the man who was the reason she was there in the first place, Rap Monster. When she finally did, the two instantly hit it off considering their interests were so similar, and Hana couldn't have been happier. After not too long, she met the rest of BTS via RM. She definitely has him (and her grandfather) to thank for everything in her life at this point. Within RM, Hana wouldn't have these friends, and she wouldn't have ever found out about BigHit and the ability to take her words and make a song out of them.

— Friend : Watanabe Hoshi : 19 : ethusiastic, sweet, persistent, dedicated, imaginative, over-thinking : like sisters
Being a fellow writer (but of novels she hopes to publish some day), Hoshi was able to push through Hana's cold exterior to the warm heart inside. They met in Osaka in the third grade when Hoshi moved from Aomori. Even since then, they were inseparatable and practically joined at the hip. They became so close that she comfortably called Hana's grandfather "Jiiji" as well and came with Hana to visit him often. Even Hoshi was impacted wholely once Hana's parents passed and was devastated when Hana left for Korea. They made sure to keep in touch though. Hoshi was just as excited as Hana when she was accepted into BigHit and will be standing right next to their Jiiji every step of the way to Hana's dreams.

STAGE NAME Hana

PERSONA

— The Sarcastic Genius

PLOTLINE/POSITION

— Rap Warrior : Main Rapper & Composer

YEARS AS A TRAINEE

— 3 years

TRAINEE LIFE

— When Hana was somewhere around 16, she auditioned for BigHit and felt more than a bit surprised when she made it past considering she had no experience in this sort of thing other than song writing and playing instruments. Being away from her grandfather was an amazingly scary experience for her, and after the first few days, it took all of her strength to not just go back to him. But she wanted this more than she ever had before and pulled through. Watching all of the other trainees dance was by far the most intimidating thing for her considering Hana had no idea how she would ever live up to that. She wasn't a dancer, after all. The fact that she was a foreigner didn't help her confidence either, as she assumed everyone saw her as just a hopeful girl with no chance. But through all the hardwork she put into improving her dancing skills, she was able to prove people wrong over the three years she was a trainee at BigHit. Not just that, but people changed their minds about her once they heard her fierce rapping and unique voice. She seemed to have some sort of an accent when she rapped, but it didn't take away from her performance, instead it added to it. It wasn't hard for her to make friends after awhile, but it took time for her to come out of her shell and start making conversation with the other girls. She had been content with just taking to Rap Monster and her grandfather for awhile.

LOVE INTEREST Suga (BTS)
BACK UP LOVE INTEREST Rap Monster (BTS)

PERSONALITY

— Dedicated and proud
— Lazy at times and a cold exterior.
— Suga, just like Hana, often times skips out on the necessary things humans need, like sleep, in an attempt to make sure what he does for BTS is the best it can be. He cares about his work and the ARMYs  more than anything and seeing positive feedback is the big reason he's able to keep up with the tiring dance routines he's made to do. On the outside, he has a distant, almost aloof feel to him. Suga also has a cold exterior, just as Hana, so much that other members are afraid to wake him up even. Of course, on the inside, Suga is passionate for what he does and beyond protective and caring for the people close to him in his life. On top of that, some see him as lazy as he'd rather sleep a literal day away than work sometimes, but behind closed doors, he cares cares much more than it seems and gives 100% in everything he does on and off stage.

LOVE STORY & INTERACTIONS

— After finding out about Rap Monster, Hana instantly fell in love with his music. She had to find out more about what it is that he did, and that ended in her finding out about BTS and ultimately, Suga. Finding out that Suga's mixtape was coming out made her beyond excited to see what he could do considering he writes songs for BTS. His utter passion for what he did captivated her; it was almost like he was just like her and would be able to understand her. Through Rap Monster, Hana was able to become close to all BTS members (of course, including Suga, much to her delight).

ENDING

— I'd love for some romance to happen between Hana and Suga, but considering it's your story, you write as you see fit! In the least, I'd love them to become closer friends, though!

LAST COMMENT Hello~! I'm so excited to read this story when it comes out even if my OC isn't chosen! I really love applyfics and the concept of BTS having a sister group is always a favorite of mine. This is only the second time I've applied for something like this, and I jumped around while writing this, so please excuse any errors ^^;; I hope you like Hana!
