PERSONALITY :　

Jitae is a very hard working person, but only in the things he likes. When it comes to working on things Jitae does not hesitate to share his opinion on it (being blunt), so sometimes giving him something to work on can be hard since he's picky about which ones he does; but none the less he will always get everything done.
Jitae is a very athletic person, he used to play soccer, basketball, and track/field for the school, while balancing school work with it (showing that he is smart). He can also be pretty devious, pulling pranks on friends and bandmates, which adds a playful personaltiy to him. Even though he's playful, he doesn't really know how to deal with children which is actually kind of weird according to some friends and bandmates. He's also very bold, he mixes this with his athleticness and does parkour. Parkour is a great workout for him, but it's also dangerous..
Although Jitae is extroverted and likes to explore the unkown to him, he can be kind of shy sometimes, but only when he's in a group with people taller than him (like lots of people taller than him).
When you actually get close to Jitae and get to "understand him" you realize how hard it really is to understand him. He is very four-demensional and actually doesn't make very much sense, always talking about random things, dosing off, being clueless, and other things.

BACKGROUND : 

Born on March 5, 1998 in Bloomington, Minnesota was Pak Jitae, to his parents. You'd actually be very surprised to hear his story though, he's always so energetic and kind, no one would think he has a dark past. You see, his parents didn't want a child, non-less a boy, he was neglected and beaten as he grew up. He never understood what he did wrong until he was 13, he did nothing wrong. Since his parents only wanted him as basically a slave trying to get his custody switched over to his friend's family was very hard without him sending his parents to jail.
Once Jitae was 15 he became part of his friend Alex's family, he changed his surname to there's (Gyo), but he had basically been going by Gyo Jitae since he started middle school, as to his parents didn't even want to enroll him in school and he did it himself. Music had always been his escape from reality, most people probably suspected him and Alex had been doing drugs or something since they'd always run away after school/sports, but really they had always been at this one music store playing around in the studio since the manager always let them.
When Jitae moved Alex's parents already knew that he (and Alex) wanted to be a singer. Alex's family had already been planning to move to Los Angeles, California so they decided to let him audition as soon as they settled in over there. When Jitae's new family finally settled in, Alex had found a new music store for them to hang out at, and the 2 of them were already 16. Alex, Jitae, (and Alex's little brother Minso) went and auditioned for SM Entertainment. Minso and Alex made it into SM, but Jitae didn't, so he had to ensure the 2 of them that it was alright.
After not being accepted into SM, Jitae started school there in LA. Soon after starting school, Jitae was in a musical and was scouted by a BigHit Entertainment employee, who had told him where they were holding auditions. Jitae auditioned and made it into BigHit Ent., soon after he finished sophmore year and moved to Seoul, finishing school there and starting trainee life.Not to late after he had been told he would be put into their group BTS, but didn't feel ready. Not expecting the trainee life to continue for so long with no hope of another group debuting he left and went to KS Ent. and immediatly got in.

LIKES:

-Melon Bars; just not when they are too frozen

-Japanese Food; ramen, sushi, gyoza (matching his nickname even)

-Anime/Manga; loves to watch it during his free time
-Cute Things; this is secretly, but t's mostly cute pastries and sweets, flower crowns too
-Animals; mostly dogs, but especially baby animals
-Chicken; you can't forget about chicken, you just can't
-EXO; he's actually really fond of their music and likes to cover their songs and dances

DISLIKES:

-Smoke; doesn't understand why people would want to kill themselves on the inside with something that smells really bad
-People Who Don't Try; "I work my off trying to figure something out, I don't like it when people ask for help but haven't even tried yet."
-Too Much Sugar; he actually really does like sweets and has a high tolernce, but he doesn't like eating until he reaches that tolernce
-Haters; Growing up in America, there were lots of people who tried to make fun of him for being Asian or just for liking what he likes; he never understood them and wouldn't bother to really hear what they had to say
-Burnt Food; it smells like smoke and just doesn't taste as good

▸ He used to have 2 dogs (an akita inu girl and samoyed boy) and used to make extra money from their puppies.
▸ Actually has a slight motion sickness so he doesn't play video games very often and always has to be listening to something when he's in a vechicle.
▸ In middle school and high school he played soccer, basketball, and track/field.
▸ He made it to nationals for track/field doing the long jump and high jump.
▸ His actual surname was "Pak" but he changed it to "Gyo" when he seperated from his parents.

Surako gave birth to Jitae when she was 19, and not ready for a child. She wanted to be a model and was mad that she became pregnant, not being able to continue her dream as a model. She always shunned her son.

▸ blood father — Pak Namkoong (40) / unknown / cold-hearted / 0
Namkoong was very surprised that Surako was pregnant with Jitae and wanted to abort, but he just couldn't for whatever reason, continuosly blaming it on money. He'd always make Jitae do things around the house and never acknowledged that Jitae was his son and treated him somewhat like a slave.

▸ brotha from another motha — Gyo Alex (18) / drummer / funny and lazy / 11 out of 10
Alex and Jitae actually didn't start going to school together until they were 11, when they entered middle school, they quickly found one another and became friends since they both are half-Korean. The two of them are very close friends with some simaluar interest actually. When Jitae got into fights with his parents he'd run away to Alex's home, were he was very much invited. Often times after school (or sports) they'd go to a local music store and hang out, look at new albums, see the new instruments, play around in the studio. They'd share funny moments in that studio and the other studio they found in LA, but sometimes Jitae would have to drag Alex home.
Alex litterally became Jitae's brother from another mother when Jitae got custody to be underneath Alex's parents/family.

Jitae actually didn't like Minso for the first, probably, 2 years he'd know him; Jitae found him annoying and clingy back then, but after those (possibly) 2 years, they became very close. Minso would tag along with them to the music store once he had entered middle school (and the other 2 in high school), he'd work on his vocals with Jitae andthey had formed a little band (Alex on drums, Jitae on guitar since he knew a little, and Minso doing vocals), but they just goofed around really. Minso is very serious about singing and dnacing, but he just procastiantes a whole lot...
Minso was actually pretty depressed when Jitae didn't make it into SM with them, after all Jitae was pretty much his senpai, litterally; Minso would always call him "senpai" of "Jitae-senpai" around the house and on the bus, everywhere.

Kim is actually a truck driver, he drives/works with his father, so they both are gone most days of the week; they leave on Tuesdays and get back on Sundays. He's very close with all his younger brother despite him being Alex and Minso's half-brother and not even blood related to Jitae. Kim may never show it but he loves driving the 3 of them around to different places, shopping with them, and watching/listening to their work. When it snowed in Bloomington he loved throwing snowballs at the three of them, he misses the snow though... He is married, but his wife still lives in South Korea, the one question that everyone asks, "Is he really married..?"

The birth mother of all of Jitae's new brothers. She has always been there for Jitae. After a certain while she found out Jitae's living style wasn't that of regular teenage boys and started trying to get Jitae to live with them, it didn't take long for Jitae to climb on board that train. Before Jitae came to live with them though she had said to him, "You are always welcomed here."

He is the blood father of Alex and Minso, but not Kim; even though he isn't Kim's blood father you would never be able to tell since they are so close. Rei also approved Jitae living with them and when Jitae would always stay the night, he treated him like his own son.

James is the music store owner that Jitae, Alex, and Minso had gotten permission from to use the studio there. He'd sometimes play guitar with them or help/teach Jitae guitar. He can play almost every instrument in his store. He never minded them coming into the store since they were such a kind group of boys, he actually misses them not going there anymore.

Nick is the music store owner in LA that the boys had found, they don't go there as often as they did the one in Bloomington, but they still get permission to use the studio (even though Nick doesn't know them too well). Nick as actually a very quiet person, the boys don't recall him ever saying a word.

Jitae is very close to all the members, they are all his family. Sometimes though he can get annoyed with them, he's the youngest member of Rook, but sometimes he feels like he is older than the childish hyungs and noonas...

He's very close with all 3 groups, being a back-up member for King at one point, before being moved over to Rook for being able to work a syntezier well and knowing how to play the piano.
