PERSONALITY TRAITS :　

▸ [ oh myungji ] — (over-)positive, active, playful, curious, honest, innocent 

▸ [ kim jinsol ] — annoying, stubborn, childish, klutz, loud, daredevil, kinda rude

Nothing is impossible. That's what our girl thinks. There's always a ray of hope nearby, as long as you believe it, a chance will arise for you to grab it. Even at everyone's wits end she'd believe it possible. It's pretty weird how she can feel that way no matter the circumstances, no one really understands how she's able to feel that way constantly. It's thanks to this trait she gets past a lot of hard times by believing in the impossible. Yet, it also burdens other people or annoys some when she simply thinks  possible from her perspective. She loves hyping things up, she really can't stay still for long especially when things get boring or dull. She simply has to move about or just jump about. Her sheer inability to keep still has kinda contributed to her energy while dancing, never-ending. She takes this as her way to cheer people up too, although yet again. It annoys some to no ends.

It has always been in her blood to be a child, even when she's at such an age. She pulls pranks like a child. She sometimes even speaks like a child, typical gibberish.Sometimes it's cute, sometimes or mostly not. And many times, simply acts like a child. As if, she's living in the past. Jinsol's curiosity know no bounds too just like her positivity. Everything is interesting, everything she has to learn. There's just too much to learn in this universe. She's always questioning "Why?" to dig deeper, just like a child would. Thanks to that, never start something you can't explain or speak of something you don't know fully, for you'd just have her pester you for the rest of the time wanting to know the depths of whatever happened or just simply why. This trait also causes her to constantly be on the look out for new information, thus she's always on the web for new gossip or news.Her honest trait could be positive yet, it could also lead to her downfall. She can't lie. Her conscience wouldn't be able to take it. Whenever dangerous questions are asked, it is mandatory that it never goes to her, or she'll spill the beans. Thanks to that, she gets herself in a lot of trouble and offends quite a handful of people too. Of course, some people are thankful for her honesty though. Don't ever tell her your secrets too. She'd be honest with you. She can't keep them. Quote "Children never lie." "You're 19, god." That's another reason why she interviews instead of being interviwed a lot.

Never afraid to try anything. That's called brave, maybe Jinsol's a little too brave, but when you're simply recklessly driving yourself into every little thing there is to do. You're just a daredevil. No matter how impossible the task, she'd try it. Just for a new experience. Or just for fun, she always says. Tripping, falling and tumbling. She somehow always manages to end up with bruises at the end of the day. This paired with her daredevil trait leads to eternal disaster. She's completely fine with it though, she's already used to it. People worry over her however, wondering if it could be a sickness or maybe she's just not careful enough. Then again, ain't nobody stopping her from what she wants to do. She only listens to a handful of people. Just like a child only listens to his or her parents. She does what she likes, and she'll do it even more if you don't want her to just to spite you.

BACKGROUND :　

Born to Ahn Sekyung and Kim Jiwoon on the 1st April, 1997, aka April Fools' Day. She was a child filled with wonder, very much like her birthday too, a fool. She was the firstborn of her young parents who were only in their early twenties. Shortly after her arrival, her parents had her younger sibling(s) along the way. A pair of male twins, namely Kim Taewoon & Kim Haewoon, born in 1999. They were her subsequent playmates, also adding to her unusual activeness since she had mates to play with and chase about rather than sit at home alone with dolls. Her mother working in the entertainment industry as a stylist had been mostly away from home and in Seoul, the three kids were then naturally taken care of by their father who had been self-employed, owning a guitar store. As a child, Jinsol had come into contact with music at a very young age from hanging around her father's store lots. Upon reaching the age of 8, her mother had brought her to Seoul to live together for about 3 months since taking care of 3 kids alone for her dad was proving to be too much that his business was suffering from his lack of concern. At that very time, her mother had brought her along to one of her gigs and it just so happened they needed a child to stand-in for an act since the one they had wanted had called in sick and it was too late to call for back-up. Enter Jinsol. She fulfilled the role instead and impressed the director, it had been a short drama serial but had opened up the doors of acting to her. From then on, she travelled back and forth Busan frequently for shoots for about three years with minor roles before transferring to Seoul completely at the age of 11 to sign with a company for a 5-year contract. During this period of time, she had built up a sustainable amount of popularity and was pretty much busier than her parents overall. There wasn't really time for play anymore, but only work. The only feeling she got out of the company that had a hold on her was that, they were simply exploiting her. They were more jobs than a child could take. Pushing her so much she had fainted from overwork not once but twice. 

Albeit being passionate about her work, Jinsol was simply unable to continue with her health starting to become a concern. It was as if the more she was forced, the more interest seeped away from her in terms of acting. Her mother then forced her to cut her contract short, knowing how despicable the entertainment industry was, all prepared to go for a lawsuit had the company resisted. Thankfully, the company let her go, afraid of tarnishing their own reputation. This was 3 years in, Jinsol was 14. She had went back to Busan for 6 months of rest after not meeting her precious daddy and brothers for such a long time. This period of time was the most important, her popularity had started to slip away now that she appeared less on television and her father's shop had once again started to suffer as the rent price of the store kept hiking up and a newer store had opened up opposite. She attempted to help with publicity then but it hadn't helped much. Her publicity stunts mainly involved her trying to busk with a guitar from her father's store and singing simple songs with her brothers. She found much healing in music that she started to grow to love. On a very fateful day in 2011, a video of her singing in the streets was uploaded on YouTube and she had received a casting call from Hummingbird Ent. It had been a bit of a dilemma for her whether she should accept but in the end she did. It would largely help her father if she grew to be publicly known again and she was certain music was something she wanted to pursue apart from her love for acting too. Thus, her journey started.

she goes to see her father if he has any gigs in seoul whenever she's free. she shares about life with him and takes the opportunity to learn a new guitar song or two from him when they meet. it's a way of hers to assure her father that nothing is wrong with her so he can focus on caring for her other brothers too and his store.

▸ mother — ahn sukyung (42) / stylist / nagging, cold, direct / typical mother and daughter but not close enough she tells her secrets.  
they tend to meet each other at work. they discuss mostly work-based matters. although they seem like a cold pair on the outside, they still deeply care for each other and would not hesitate to help each other out with anything.

▸ best friend — yeo jin-goo (19) / actor / playful, caring, geeky / brother-like, her salvation and confidant in seoul.

the same aged friends met on jinsol's first return to screen in 2011, both taking up younger roles of the main characters from Moon Embraces The Sun. it hadn't been easy in the slightest to take the first step back in. it had been her first gig in a long while after all. jin-goo had definitely been of help. ever since then, they had stuck hip to hip, almost like twins really, while jin-goo continued to pursue his acting career and jinsol her music. they still attempt to meet-up a lot though. at their usual rendezvous, a pc cafe where they used to hangout and game together while eating snacks.

STAGE NAME : oh myungji; she changed her entire name for an entirely new start. jinsol was a name taken by another idol and she wanted to completely different herself from her acting career that arose from childhood. if you asked her why oh? she'd answer with this "because it sounds like im being called after. for example. "oh! myungji!" such an adorable catchphrase." myungji came about while she was thinking about how to keep a part of her father's name so she took Ji from Jiwoon and added myung to it, myung meaning a bright light. that's the way she hopes to be. a bright light for everyone even in her idol form.

PERSONA : baby elephant; the short midget that seems small but a little too loud for her size when blowing her trunk off. why an elephant? because you'll never miss her when she's there. loud steps, loud trunks, messy and such a klutz. the mistake that got her such a persona, when she once slipped during a childhood interview that she liked dumbo the elephant. come on, she was 9.

TRAINEE YEARS : 4 years 2 months

TRAINEE LIFE : a casting call after the company saw the video someone posted of her busking on the streets on youtube led her here. they initially called her up with more of an intent to sign her up as an actress seeing she had been dropped from another company and let her live with acting gigs for about a year before officially letting her start to train in 2012 when she was 15. she was there when the amount of trainees were still a handful, but she mixed well. it was a thing. those who liked her, really liked her. those who disliked her, hated her to the core. although she was alright with the guitar, she wasn't particularly talented in the other factors required for an idol, leading to intense training when she stopped acting gigs. her positivity giving her a major boost had her being the first to arrive and last to leave the company everyday. yet, singing still wouldn't work out for her. her voice just wasn't as suitable. eventually she decided, to venture into full-on rapping instead so she could secure a better spot in the upcoming girl group the company had planned on debuting.

you're already an actress, why did you want to be an idol? : 

▸ I'd like to venture into music, because i've always been in touch with it. I've seen the wonders an idol can do in terms of giving hope to others. Acting was for Kim Jinsol, it's not enough for me, Oh! Myungji!

is there a concept that you want to try out in the future? : 

▸ Oho! Definitely! You've asked the right person for this one. I imagine us rotating concepts a lot. I mean we are all talented ladies y'know. We can act and all, just about pull off anything. Here's a few. Schoolgirl, that's cute. Superheroes, we can appeal to kids. Dolls, ooh creepy one for Halloween. Sassy, girl crush style because that's what's in the trend today. I mean i've got an entire list but you gotta let me go without a pause. It's gonna take about 30 minutes. Do you have enough time?

▸ Man, you ask the most satisfying questins. Artists, from musicians, to idols, to actors, to photographers, to painters. All. I want to collab with all of them. So like, musicians, i'd like to collab with local bands, CNBlue maybe. Idols, there are so many to choose from wow, okay. Breathe, Jins-- Myungji, BREATHE.
