On sevvy's watch

Okay, so I've been really into watching dramas, and giving review per episode would be super tedious (and unnecessary, because why is this important, sevvy?). But I still wanted to do a sort of reaction to because I find my brain cogs to be moving instead of just being a positive consumerist. Anywho, I am warning you of the onslaught of blogs, haha. I am sorry you added me in your friend's list, anywho, this going to be a series post of undetermined postings. I'll just post whenever I feel the need to write something down, usually when I like something in a drama, when I drop a series, when I am enjoying something.... In my writing classes, my profs always told me to be mindful of story telling, and recognize the reader/viewer experience and scoot over the fence and try on the thinking hat of how it could have saved itself from losing audience... I mean I don't know about you, but my taste is obviously the bomb. :3

Inside quotes are (Show status || Where sevvy is at in terms of episode || woofs are star rating according to this doggy's attention span)

Moon Lovers Ryeo (Status: Ongoing || sevvy is at episode 11 || sevvy gives this an eight woof)

Eight woofs? Really? I am just going along with sevvy being a dog... Did you know I actually RP'd as TOP's dog. It was ing hilarious. I miss my TOP-owner. OTL  I should say highest rating would be a ten woof, and it's a relative scale that goes up and down, depending on the experience. For example, W started at ten woofs then dwindled to zero. It's more of a scale of sevvy's interest, excitement, and attention. I do have the attention span of the cutest, most distracted doggy in the world! ASK 7S_TOP :3

But going back to Moon Lovers, I actually really like this show, and nowadays, I've been enjoying period dramas. O,O I really want to understand why, but I guess it's the fatalist in me. You know, when something is predetermined by history, but you just watch humans squirm... I enjoy that. See sevvy's affinity with Lucifer in Milton's Paradise Lost

As for why I like this story particularly.... There are shallow things like being in love with IU's skin. You see while people clamour for the close-up overuse, sevvy just goes , IU's skin is my favourite skin in the world. I just love it. I am in love with it. I can't even see her act or , I just see her beautiful translucent skin. Hah.

The amount of eye candy doesn't really interest me for some reason, except for eyeliner-hyung, now I kind of wonder if I had a thing for TOP or if it's an eyeliner thing?

Storywise though, I dont particularly think there's anything really novel in it. I do like the lightness of this, and the predicatbility is nice. Haha. I know it has flaws, but it's not deal-breaking in my opinion, it's mainly in the editing and directing and shizz.

I just find this really entertaining, and I enjoy So's darkness and lightness and how he teeters over in one side then the next. I enjoy that. It's like the show is saying you know he's going to murder everyone, right? Why are you laughing at him being cute and ?

This show is by far my favourite on my watch. I avidly wait every Monday night to lose myself into staring at IU's skin.

UPDATED: episode 12 watch: Did anyone get the same doozy I did with the massive time skip? Cheesus, I think the main challenge of this show is cramming in 20 episodes. :/// SPOILER ALERT: Wook going to the dark side. Anakin, isdatchu?

W (Status: Finished || sevvy dropped W at episode 15 || sev woofs: zero)

This show, honestly, was my true love until it wasnt. This show had a lot of ambition, but the thing about fiction is knowing that even the highest of fantasy have "rules" they follow, and a character's action must have consequence. Death in this drama has no bearing. Rules are for the dogs. And I don't really care at that point. Kang Chul goes and commit suicide, gets revived the next episode. Yeon Joo dies! But wait she's alive the next day! Now the final conflict! Dad/Chul dies? Who ing cares, they're all ing Jesus. I don't care, show. I don't ing care. Not my love for Jong Suk can make me stay. I will go stare at a falling tree for all the consequence your storyline has on anything. Good bye, sir. Good ing bye.

I actually stuck to this until the very last moment until I go... I can't. I can't. I am sorry Jong Suk-babe.

Moon Drawn By The Clouds (Status: Ongoing || sevvy is currently chasing tail, may come back later, sev thinks she left at episode 9 || sev woofs: two)

I enjoyed this. Until I kind of wandered. There wasn't any deal breakers per se. I just think the plot is pretty thin. I mean, I get that this is about a prince loving his eunuch who is a girl pretending to not have a .Hehehe. But I liked the politics for this more, and it's not that I don't like the prince or his eunuch... I just, uh, think he should go to work. Doesn't he know what interim King means? He's a gaddam King for a day and he goes chasing skirts... I just... uhh...

I just need a bit more meat to this, and I understand this is a longer story, but honestly the storyline is pretty thin outside pseudo-boy-love. Hahaha. I mean, there's mystery crumbs spilled on the ground to keep you going, but sevvy is just a poor doggie with the attention span of a... oh! SQUIRREL.

I also do care about the characters but I don't feel that the stakes are high enough for me to continue their developing recognition of the importance of pink lace and vajayjays.

I am sorry. I didn't mean that as awful as it sounded. Heh.

On the Way to the Airport (Status: Ongoing || sevvy is on episode 4 || sev woofs: nine)

Moon Lovers might be my favourite, but this is my most anticipated, or maybe there is no heirarchy in a dog's mind, whatcha think?

I usually like these kinds of stories that deal more with mundane problems. I am also super intrigued with extra-marital affairs scenario, and not the ual aspect (mostly) but the defiance of a status quo, when you question if what society deems right, that's what I like.

The scenes here are beautiful, btw, in a, oh the world is beautiful kind of way.

I also love the older cast... perhaps because sevvy is older. OTL

Fantastic (Status: Ongoing || sevvy is on episode 4 || sev woofs: six)

I honestly enjoy this, but nothing too spectacular. It's about a bad actor who likes a writer who has cancer. That's premise, bees.

Mirror of the Witch (Status: Finished || sevvy dropped the ball, and lost it || sev woofs: zero)

I sincerely think this isn't bad! I just... wandered away and never came back. I have to admit to myself that I am just against dying and not being dead, you know, and I honestly stayed because of the beautiful cinematography but ooh pretty, isn't going to keep me there. While I did like the characters, I just didn't feel like the rules were hardset, and I just couldn't stay on board until the end. Sorry, pretty witchy.

Six Flying Dragons (Status: Finished || sevvy is on episode 31, then sevvy went for a walk and lost her way || woofs: two hundred two or six)

Is there a show that I had loved more? Perhaps not. Perhaps not at all. What does that even mean? /squirms. I actually loved this so much to the point of comparing it to my ultimate fave, Game of Thrones. I love the politics, the intrigue, Moo Hyul going: Warrior Moo Hyul!, the fight scene... just everything.

Then I... I was too scared it would disappoint me, I just wandered off. OTL. The thing is the historical bindings are killing me. I just don't want Bang Won to go up then go down. Hahaha. I am too scared Moo Hyul would grow up and get jaded. I just... I just... I think this show is too much for me? What? What am I talking about?

I should come back to this... Sevvy, I command thee to go back, and watch the world burn!!! After you chase that rainbow... Oh weeeh...

Doctors (Status: Finished || sevvy does not want to fetch that damn ball || Woofs: no)

Dropped. I was trying to stay in there, but the insistence of this show to create the secretly pure and al female lead got me going nononononono. The no boyfriend until the one is just a no, no for sevvy, so no. No. No.

Running Man (Status: Ongoing || sevvy watches this every week || Woof? Woof, woof!)

I can say that my fascination for this show varies, but I do like it. I have nothing to say except I am in love with Ji hyo. I think ranking wise in terms of strength and ability Gary is second to Joong Kook. I think Haha and Kwang Soo are the mood makers. Jae Sook... ahhh Jae Sook, why do I even like you?

I don't ship the Monday Couple. I ship Ji Hyo with Kim Soo Hyun, okay? LOLOL

Done-zos. I'mma now wander away, and wonder if this series will have a part two, Hazhazhaz
