appearance » Yunseol looks nothing like the skilled killer he is with those cute dimples that show themself when he smiles or laughs. These dimples are Yunseol's key trait but he can also be identified by his deep double eyelids, plump lips, small nose and oval face. His hair is usually wore in a messy style that only accentuates his adorable features and makes others have a stronger urge to protect him. Contrary to his childlike face, he stands at 182cm and weighs 64kg. As his training is more of avoiding attacks and casting spells, he does not have much of the muscles needed to weild a heavy sword or deliver a damaging punch. Due to the fact that his training ground is in a basement and his habit of covering himself up as much as possible, his skin is kept fair and perhaps even pale. However, there is a lichtenberg figure scar that covers his right arm from the start until his elbows. It's kind of like a birth mark since he was born with it and he takes pride in it as proof that he was a naturally gifted mage.

style » As a kind of serial murderor, his actions have caused him to have quite a few insecurities. This can be seen in his choice of clothing which are usually long sleeved hoodies with long pants and high cut shoes. Revealing his skin gives him a sense of insecurity so he tends to cover up whatever he can.  Hence, he is usually clad in autumn/winter wear no matter how hot the weather is.... unless his sister forced him to wear short sleeved shirts so that he will not overheat in summer. In addition to clothes, Yunseol also carries a belt pouch at all times.

" People think I'm a timid sheep or something " : Most people's first impression of Yunseol is that of a deer caught in the headlights, wide eyed and seemingly surprised by the first contact. This is probably due to Yunseol's reserved and introverted personality.  He is unable to take the first step easily and finds it difficult to approach others. So when others decide to initiate the conversation, he is caught off gaurd and gives a surprised reaction. He also does not like to reveal much information about himself, even to close friends, hence he is not skilled in holding deep and lengthy conversations. His reserved trait ensures that he does not give away too much during a mission while his introverted trait hinders him from making a smooth first contact with the target. Others may think he's a half wit when seeing him for the first time. This is because he is an airhead who prefers to indulge himself in his own world instead and stay ignorant to the happenings in the real world. Perhaps it is a reasonable trait since the happenings in his world aren't all too happy but it does cause people to look down on him a bit.

" Leave it to me! " : That being said, people will find that Yunseol is far from being a naive dullard once he opens up to them a bit more. Behind the clumsy front is a child-like boy who seeks fun and excitement. Most of his pleasure comes from playful pranks and lousy puns. His antics are usually childish like stealing the pudding that Wonwoo explicitly told him not to eat or hiding Wonwoo's towel while the latter is taking a shower. His idea of humour is also rather crooked, sprouting jokes like "What adivice does the doctor give to the patient who said that he feels like killing himself?" (the answer is "leave it to me") with a straight face and getting disheartened when an awkward silence follows. Yet he still continue to crack such bizarre jokes to this day in hopes that someone else other than the kind hearted Wonwoo will give him the reaction he want. He also finds dark humour the most hilarious. 

" In case you haven't realised, I'm a serial killer " : However, it will be risky to forget that Yunseol is someone who kills others and destroy other's lives for a living. He is equipped with the knowledge and mindfulness to notice almost all of the subtle changes in behaviour or atmosphere as well as decipher what these changes mean. Adding on, he maintains a calm demeanour at all times to ensure that his mind stay alert but does not get overwhelmed. He is also quick to learn things and catch on. It is very easy to teach him new things as he is able to absorb the information like a sponge and needs minimal guidance. Perhaps the only thing to take note of is that he is unable to stand long boring lectures and will start pulling mischievous pranks or telling ridiculous jokes.

All in all, he is a childish person who seems like a timid sheep but is a capable serial killer.

BACKGROUND » Yunseol was born on the day of the first snow in Noctis to a family of three who were all members of Sabertooth. His father, Won Jung In, was one of the best swordsmen in Noctis and served the leader of Sabertooth, Jang Hyukjoo, as his bodygaurd. His mother, Lee Hae Ra, was a dark mage who had to use circles to cast her spells since she was not naturally gifted. His sister, Won Yu Ril, had more affinity with swords and daggers as compared to spell circles. As for Yunseol, he was naturally gifted with the ability to use magic. When he was a baby, he would cause lightning sparks to fly around the house during a tantrum and as a child, he was feared by his playmates. Especially so after he accidentally hurt a friend with his power in anger when the said friend had refused to share his toys. This incident also highlighted the need for a proper mentor. Haera had been trying her best to teach Yunseol how to control his powers but what she could teach was limited since she herself was no natural born mage. After much thought, his parents decided to engage help from Hyukjoo who happen to be a natural born dark mage. Hyukjoo became his mentor and the two trained together in the secret underground basement beneath the church. In addition to training with his magic, Yunseol was also taught how to use a dagger by his father although no amount of training could extinguish his awkwardness with it. His mother often sparred with him as well. As he grew closer to the age of 13, the trainings became increasingly more intense in preparation for his first mission.

Yunseol set off for his first mission with his sister and her partner as soon as he reached the age of 13. Their task was to capture a man who had betrayed Noctis and get information from him. Yuril and her partner easily located the man and made swift work of his bodygaurds while Yunseol shocked the man into a state of confusion. After that, they sucessfully brought him back to Noctis for questioning. The plan was to torture him into spilling information and Yunseol was in charge of doing so. He would deliver electrifying shocks and watch silently as scars developed on the man's body. If it was any normal 13 year old, they would have doubled over and emptied their guts at the rather gruesome scene but Yunseol was no ordinary child. In fact, he was getting annoyed at the man's lack of cooperation. Still, he endured enough to hear what he wanted to. After getting all the information they needed from the man, Yunseol delivered a final shock with a dimpled smile, perhaps relieved that his first mission was finally over.

This mission proved to be very useful to Sabertooth later when they were promoted to become the ruling guild of Noctis. The betrayer turned out to be a member of the guild that was ruling then thus that guild was demoted and Sabertooth was promoted as decided by the council of guilds. Yunseol spent the next few years going on more missions, most of which included torturing and killing. These missions allowed him to gain reputation and eventually, he became the right hand man of Hyukjoo. He took on jobs assigned by Hyukjoo which usually served to elevate Hyukjoo's rule over Noctis and at times, he was given jobs that Hyukjoo was supposed to carry out if the latter thought he had better things to do. No one ever complained, though. Because it was no secret that Yunseol was just as strong and capable as Hyukjoo. Besides, most people secretly hoped that Yunseol would lose his life on a mission anyway, so that there will be one less person stronger than them.

FAMILY »

Father ;; Won Jung In, 48, Swordsman | Worrisome, Loyal | Jungin may not admit it but he is a little bit disappointed in Yunseol due to his inability to aptly handle a sword. While watching Yunseol swing his sword awkwardly, he worries that his natural abilities will somehow be depleted one day and his son left defenceless. In order to avoid that, he takes Yunseol to train his swordsmanship whenever he can. However, this practice ends up looking like he favours his son over his daughter and Yuril gets a bit jealous which results in Yunseol shying away from swordsmanship training and burying himself in other work.

Mother ;; Lee Hae Ra, 48, Artificial(?) Dark Mage | Meddlesome, Caring | The mother and son train their magic together in the basement of the church. However, it seems like training is the only thing they do together so Haera is actually worried that she is not being a good mother to Yunseol. So she has been trying to spend more time with her son when neither of them is working. She hopes to know more about him but his reserved personality is not helping. Hence she ends up prying too much which upsets Yunseol. That being said, they make up quickly the day after when Haera prepares apple pie for breakfast.

Elder Sister ;; Won Yu Ril, 25, Swords(wo)man | Serious, Focused | If Yuril were to be honest, she has actually become rather scared of Yunseol after their mission together. However, she has managed to surpress this fear by exerting her dominance on Yunseol and reassuring herself that her baby brother was not capable of hurting her. In a way, she bullies Yunseol and forces him to do as she tells him. Up to now, Yunseol has not rebelled against her but there is no telling how he will react if this keeps up.

FRIENDS/RIVALS »

Partner Pet ;; Jeon Won Woo, 20, Assassin | Encouraging, Overprotective | Most people take on missions as a pair so that they will not be so easily overpowered and for one to finish the job or report back if the other meets an unfortunate end. Wonwoo and Yunseol are one such pair. For their second mission, they were paired up by Hyukjoo to complement each other in terms of fighting and killing. Wonwoo was quite the scaredy-cat and was unable to kill his first target. Despite this, he showed determination to protect his team members who were his older friends. During the missions, Wonwoo would be in charge of protecting Yunseol while Yunseol deals with the gruesome side of it. Even when they are not doing missions, they have grown to like each other so they are found side by side although it is clear to others that Yunseol was just conveniently using the gullible Wonwoo to do this and that for him. They are also in the same guild.

Yunseol hums as he thought of a viable answer because he never really thought about what he felt when Hyukjoo told him of the wedding. "It will definitely be interesting, if anything? I mean, there are so many things that could happen while the wedding is underway, don't you think? So I'm er... probably excited. And it's a wedding between two princes so.... I think it will be fun," he said nervously, trying his best not to stammer as he voice out his thoughts. He reached for the bottle of water when he finished answering.

how did you end up in lucia for the wedding ? » After emptying the bottle, he his lips and continued, "Well, an invitation came from the kingdom of Luce and, teacher Jang isn't fond of going too far from Noctis. So he told me to go instead." He paused for a while before deeming his answer incomplete.       " ...... even if neither of us went, I doubt anyone will be disappointed though. But I decided to attend anyway... because I think it will be interesting," he explained, reaching for another bottle of water.

why do you think there are so many secrets surrounding the prince of luce ? are you part of the little circle of people who knows why he hides ? » Emptying that bottle as well, Yunseol took a long while to collect his thoughts before speaking. "It is in human nature to want to hide bad things, isn't it?" he starts, "maybe he did something that made him feel guilty..." He took another while to stop thinking about all the things he himself should be guilty about before realising that he have yet to answer the second part of the question. "I.. er.. am not part of that circle," he added.

why do you think the kings decided to link their kingdoms so suddenly ? » Yunseol takes another long while to process the question. "To strengthen their bond? Or gain power? Or because the princes love each other?" he lists, tapping his finger rhythmically on his thigh.

"Teacher Hyukjoo sent me to represent Noctis in a good light, there were no orders to be some traitor..." he mumbled before realisation hit him. "Urm... no. I won't be manipulated. Maybe teacher Hyukjoo will pass a new order later.." he corrected. "And if I'm really the traitor I guess my target would be to terrorize the other kingdoms so that they do not try to mess with Noctis... I would use anyone I can.. perhaps by... making them point fingers at one another?"

YOU ARE NOT THE TRAITOR. DO YOU HELP HIM OR DO YOU TRY TO SAVE THE WEDDING AND THE PRINCE ? » Yunseol seems to release a sigh of relief and he is no longer frowning. This time, too, he does not seem reluctant to give an answer. "If I really need to potray Noctis in a goid light, I think I will help the princes and save the wedding," he pauses to rethink his answer. "But if helping this traitor is more beneficial for Noctis then..." he trails off, refusing to explicitly specify his alternative course of action.
