first impression Eyes can't help but be drawn to Ana Sofia, but surprisingly, most people don't do it for her face. Her aura is a familar one, something draws others to her, much like an old friend that came home after a long trip, or the warmth of an embrace. It's hard to ignore her when she walks into a room.

On stage, she's of course, mostly at the coordis mercy. She tends to let them do as they see fit, it's their job, and if she looks ridculious... well, she did sign up for this. Most of the time, though, it's a fresh, innocent image with pretty dresses and bright colors paired with loose curls if they're able to tame the mane that is her hair.

Offstage, she's normally in sweater crop tops and shorts, or anything that's long sleeved, because sweater paws are great and everyone should have them all the time. She actually does like dresses, and has quite a collection of easy summer dresses and the like, always paired with an oversized cardigan. The one thing she'll always be guilty of is she LOVES shoes, and has the most out of all of the girls in the dorm. There's been jokes aplenty about how she never wears the same pair twice. As for training, it's yoga pants or running shorts with a tanktop and pullover and a cap to help her ponytail stay a ponytail.

Having a little girl was not in either of her parent's plans when they met in 1994 while her mother used her well earned vacation time she'd saved up on as being a flight attendant... But life has a way of taking your plans and twisting them to how it should be, not how you want it. So therefore, little Ana Sofia Kwon Monales was born. Her mother stayed until she was four, then left to return to her flying job, coming to visit on her birthday and other important holidays, including Chuseok to enforce her Korean heritage and language, but for the most part, made money to send for her upbringing. So her father practically raised her by himself -- as a music teacher, she was exposed to music pretty much since the beginning. She loved sitting by him as he played the guitar or the piano, and has her fondest memories of him singing to her as a young child.
When she turned 7, her father, of course, enrolled her in the music academy he taught at, and she just flourished in the musical theater department, and made that her focus through out her schooling. She and her father spent long hours at the music school, praticing and rehearsing, but loving every second because they were together and doing what they loved. Even though she and her father did not have much, and she wanted nothing of the material sort, she still missed having her mother around more. Ana Sofia loved her abuela and her tias very much, but nothing was quite the same as spending time with her mother.

Literally and figuratively." She looks up to him and talks about him constantly, and he does the same. He really did raise her on his own, and she has so much respect and admiration for him. He's a typical dad, loves his daughter and LOVES that she went after her dream and achieved it. He loves the other members and the SVT boys just as much, calling them his children and always tweeting about them when they promote, no matter the unit (although he of course tends to tweet more when Crystal is promoting, it is his daughter after all.) Ana Sofia is his entire world, and you can see his adoration for her through their interactions on social media and how they talk about each other.

After School members helped out some VALIANT members in their pre-debut crunch time, and Ana Sofia was assigned to none other than Lizzy. This woman helped Ana Sofia with perfecting more 'idol-like' singing techniques, as well as with her Korean speech and slang. The two still are seen out whenever there's a prolonged break, especially from VALIANT long hiatus after "First Love" promotions and before Orange Caramel came back. Both girls mention each other as someone they're close to within their company. "She's so diverse and her voice is something you know. Like, you hear her and say 'That's Lizzy.' I hope to one day be recongized like she is." Lizzy always says something along the lines of, "She (Ana Sofia) has a LOT of potentional, I think. She and her group will be very big in the coming years."

— First day of training and she runs into baby Vernon, eager and bright eyed about his training as well. They sort of really stuck together because of their half heritage, finding comfort in each other and speaking English to fight off the homesickness they'd feel. The two are seen joking around and hanging out with each other the most out of all the members, and made up nicknames for each other, hench the French Toast and Churro. Ana Sofia truly adores this boy and sees him as her younger sibling, and always looks out for him. She worries about his debut and how the public would react to him, and he always defends her from people who were dumb enough to try and insult her in the training room. "He's so... familiar, like a younger version of my father, he's just as passionate and I know he's going to do really well." He jokes that if his little sister is anything like she is, he's in trouble. She's been to his house multiple times and is apparently his mother's favorite in VALIANT. Which is probably impossible, because they always find each other. Jeonghan and Ana Sofia make up the "#Flawless" part of the squad and S.Coups and Joshua... kinda just do as they're told, really. Ana Sofia is really grateful that not only did Joshua introduce them, but now the other two have adopted her as a friend as well. These four are usually making jokes about how old they are and how young people are too crazy. "My precious boys! Obviously Vernon will be my favorite, but these three will always be very special to me.They really made me feel welcome at Pledis and always can make me laugh. I care about them very much and we'll spoil the young people's fun soon, I promise!" — This girl was the first person to actually draw Ana Sofia in from the VALIANT trainee group. The way she danced was memorizing, and she remembers thinking 'I have to talk to her.' So she did, and Layna has become one of her best friends. They both get along really well and play off of each other's jokes and energy. Ana Sofia really would love to move like Layna, and makes sure to say that as an encouraging thought when/if Layna ever gets down. She sees Layna as the little sister she never had, and her maternal mode is very strong when it comes to her. "She's just so, so talented, and I'm so glad she's my teammate, even though we aren't in the same group. I hope we become even stronger friends in the future, my Creme Brulee!" Layna would be someone that Ana Sofia would pick for either trading talents with, or being in a new unit with at some point.

Regardless, Jinsol is very small and since she's so young and won't debut until 2016, she took it upon herself to make sure she's getting along all right. - Has a musical quote for everything. She constantly either quotes or sings parts of musical songs in the dorm, in the car, anywhere really. It's hard to get her to shut up.
- Is known as the member who never has cash on her because she's always buying other members food or drinks with it.
- On variety shows, she's usually asked to sing in Spanish, so she sings this lovely piece usually and kills ofc. :^)
- Refuses to drink anything but lemon and cucumber water during promotions or concert preparations. She's terrified of doing something to her voice.
- She wants to do a radio show with Seungkwan and DK. She thinks they're hilarious and would be fun to have an hour to just talk and enjoy music with and interacting with the fans at the same time!
- GOOD LUCK GETTING AN ACTUAL LANGUAGE REPLY FROM HER. She has a Japanese emoticon keyboard dedicated solely for texting others. Does she even text her father these things? Probably. Honestly, he's most likely the one that started it.
- She always wants to improve on dancing and frequently invades Emerald Unit's practices to watch and sometimes even learn a few new sequences.

- Fell in love with EXO when they performed "Sabor a Mi" as a special stage. Her father sang that when she was younger, so she would love to meet them one day.

stage persona VALIANT's Benevolent Siren : Because sirens are known for their hypnotic, seductive and moreover, destructive songs, and while Ana Sofia does indeed have a beautiful voice, she is not destructive, and she is the one who likes taking care of the members the most, so therefore benevolent was added.

So, Seungkwan's no dancer, however, he's a drama queen with a voice to match so of course they thought it'd be a really good idea to pair these two up. They soon discovered it was really just a terrible idea because now they both just annoy e v e r y o n e. It wasn't like Ana Sofia was easy on him though -- She pushed him to his limits when it came to it. "You gotta be ready for anything and everything, come on, I know you can hit that note!" Seungkwan honestly thought that Ana Sofia was trying to kill him and break his voice so he couldn't debut -- there were quite a few break downs in the room and he didn't feel like she got the pressure on him. But she did, and once they had a heart to heart they were thick as thieves and became those obnoxious fan friends. Seungkwan actually lowkey has a crush on his noona, because she never gave up on him and really truly does think he's incredible and sort of floods him with compliments. She sort of reminds him of his mom, and we all know how Seungkwan feels about his mom.
So, Seungkwan's no dancer, however, he's a drama queen with a voice to match so of course they thought it'd be a really good idea to pair these two up. training experience Funny story about her training experience -- she originally auditioned to be an musical actress for Fantagio, before being casted by her dance instructor for the idol life, specifically for a possible girl group. While she argued for continuing with her actual planned career, her instructor mentioned something that made her silent.

Well, besides the usual training life (being on a ridiculous, demanding schedule, the endless hours of being drenched in your own sweat, the dorm life which can get kind of messy bc so many girls in an enclosed space) Ana Sofia mostly just struggled with her identity during this time. Of course she was different, but she wasn't ashamed of it -- and it made her stand out. She wasn't ugly by any means (and she'll be very offended if you say that to her) so she did have quite a few male trainee admirers. But something inside her just bothered her, questions like 'What if they only like me for my looks" or "What if they're only using me for my talent" and eventually, these thoughts led Ana Sofia to drop out of training to refocus on herself and her talents.
It took a lot of phone calls to her dad and having her abuela yell at her over the speakerphone about not wasting her talent and to go and try again, like all famous people did, Ana Sofia finally started auditioning again and attended competitions as well, this time exclusively for an idol experience. A few companies brought her in for a few rounds of auditions, but ultimately rejected her. It was in a singing competition that she was finally casted as a Pledis trainee, even though she hadn't won. Walking in to the training room and finding Vernon, well, she knew she was in the right place.

how did you join pledis?
smiling brightly I was casted after competing in a local singing competion in 2011! I remember that I placed third, but a scout still approached me and offered me an audition spot, so I took it! I was really grateful for the opportunity.
valiant is rumored to consist of pledis's best female trainees; how do you feel about this?
Oh wow! laughing, covering with her hand Thanks for the compliment! Honestly, it's an honor to be working all of the girls, they're all really talented as well -- paused as the interviewer asked specifically about her -- oh! Well, I'd like to think that I'm somewhat talented, having come from a musical household and well, singing having been my priority in life. It's incredible to be included as 'one of the best'!
did you ever think you were going to debut?
tilts head as she thinks back on her time at Fantagio I didn't. I used to train at Fantagio, but I dropped due to my own faults. nods and she tries to stay positive After leaving, I felt like no one was going to pick me up, which is why I'm so grateful to Pledis and the members for keeping me around and why I'll work even harder when we debut!
who are you closest to in the pledis family, seventeen included?
My French Toast! laughing and smiling at her loud reaction earning shocked and surprised faces from the staff and interviewer I'm very close with Vernon, honestly. I'm also close with Lizzy of After School as well, she's been my mentor for sometime. I hope to get close with most of the girls and with everyone very soon!
what activities do you aspire to do outside of valiant?
I've always wanted to act in a musical, ever since I was little.
