APPEARANCE — between first and fourth year, taejin is puny-looking. he's super late to puberty, just like how he's super late to most of his classes. it isn't until the end of fourth year and during summer that he finally has a dramatic burst of height. he also gains muscles and cheekbones that girls go mad for (which he's hella embarrassed about). taejin kind of goes from a scrawny, twiglet boy to a handsome, well-built teenager. he is naturally dark haired and usually has his bangs down, but during his fifth year through to his sixth year he experiements with blonde hair, though eventually magically dies it back to black. he has several scars lining his body from years of quidditch (one long, deep one that travels from his left shoulder blade to the small of his back from crashing into a tree when when he was eight), and a few smaller, less serious ones dotted across his arms and chest.

STYLE — pretty casual/sporty when he's out of uniform, he likes to wear comfy jeans and t-shirts, and when it's cold he'll don big jumpers or warm coats. the one thing taejin is especially picky about is his trainers - he has tonnes of them, and because he's halfblood, he likes the best of both worlds in terms of trainers. he's magicked a compartment in his trunk just to store all his trainers. x. x.

han taejin is probably the happiest, smiliest lil you've ever met. since he was little he's always been very warm and affectionate, doing his best to always try and look on the bright side of life. he comes from a big, loving family with both parents maigically-inclined, though he still lives in a mostly muggle neighbourhood. outside of his immediate family taejin has a lot of aunts and uncles and cousins which means he's surrounded by family a lot, and most of these affairs last well into the next morning. because of all of this love and support from family he's grown up to be extremely happy and positive. 

taejin is a smart kid as well, and although he can be pretty lazy a lot of the time, he still manages to pass tests and hand in work with reasonably good grades. his favourite lessons are charms, flying, transfiguration, potions and care of magical creatures. he gets on extremely well with professor cho daesung, his head of house and transfiguration teacher. professor cho thinks that although taejin is an exceptionally talented flyer, his other talen lies in transfiguration and is constantly trying to get taejin to focus more in lesson and stop turning up late (because he's knocking points from his own house he's head of, goddamnit!). professor cho and taejin have a lot of banter and taejin is always fascinated with how well he talks to women, hoping one day he can be just as charming as his favourite professor.

his competitive side and his impatient side comes out a lot during quidditch, as he takes his favourite and most-loved sport very seriously. when taejin is flying there's nothing else that matters: he only feels the wind, the broomstick in his hands, and the tremble of excitement and nerves in his stomach. in his third year he becomes a chaser on the team and he swears, it was a more exciting moment than receiving his letter to maseol itself. if taejin doesn't score or makes a bad pass during a game, or even if it isn't his fault, he will instantly blame himself - he's very hard on himself like that - and will be inconsolable for a few days. quidditch season basically takes up most of his brain space, so minjae is often having to remind him to study as well during that time.

taejin deals with his anxiety by being very loud and friendly, which is why he's so popular and knows almost everybody, however, he stresses and worries a lot about what people think about him, especially concerning quidditch. his bright and positive personality isn't an act, but only those closest to him can tell when he's doing it because he's anxious. minjae picks up on it very quickly, and throughout the course of school taejin eventually learns how to control his anxiety and relaxes a lot (quidditch helps too).

although he is a loud-mouthed git most of the time, taejin is terribly considerate to other peoples feelings. he is always sticking up for minjae and constantly reminding him how important he is to him, and whenever his mum is having a hard time he'll always try to make her laugh or distract her. the biggest mistake he made was hurting his first girlfriends feelings by not paying her enough attention and basically putting her in second place to quidditch: when she dumped him it was too late for realisations and it finally dawned on him how ty he was being. he really, really doesn't like letting people down and beats himself over this sort of stuff a lot, so although his girlfriend wouldn't talk to him for weeks, he kept trying desperately to apologise and make it up to her (sending letters (to which he received a very pleasant howler from her friends in return), asking for forgiveness in corridors, buying chocolate and flowers, and even getting on his knees to apologise in front of all of his quidditch team). basically, he cannot stand the idea of hurting someone and will do whateva it takes to win them back.

when people mention how good he is at quidditch taejin gets pretty embarrassed (like red ears and sappy grin) and constantly denies it, though he secretly likes it of course. being praised for his passion really makes him happy but he's never once let it go to his head because he knows that there's always room for improvement, and takes losing personally, especially if it's his fault. that's why you'll usually find him practising until there's callouses on his fingers and his arse is sore from being wedged between a broom for hours. the only time taejin admits to being a good quidditch player is when they've won games/the cup and wonshik imports alcohol (firewhiskey?) for the team and a lightweight taejin gets hella drunk, dances on tables (flailing arms and all) and shouts that he's the friggin man. minjae definitely reminds him of these nights, like a true best friend, and taejin swears he'll never drink again (lies).

SUMMARY — ahn bora is a pureblood namgeon student who comes from a very strict and stern magical background; her family name is ancient and her family have been coming to maseol for centuries now. she is the eldest daughter with two twin younger brothers, who will eventually overtake the family business and continue the ahn family name. when bora is at home she is quiet, reserved and polite, though her parents are constantly berating her for chosing to do quidditch when she's a girl. she takes all of their critism and then uses it to be a better seeker on the team, determined to prove them wrong. right up until her seventh year she has been friends with hwang soohyuk, an anseung pureblood student who she has known since she was a little girl. everyone wants them to get married one day, so that her bloodline isn't lost or goes to waste. bora does like wooseok, but not like that. he is always looking out for her and goes out of his way to defend her when people call her rude or cold-hearted, but his feelings are not returned, especially when bora meets taejin.

FIRST MEETING — of course, their first unofficial meeting involves bora being a . taejin is an inherently unlucky guy, so when he walks past the girls quidditch changing rooms in his 4th year and the door opens as a girl leaves, he's obviously shocked. he stands there, stock-still, wide-eyed, and stares right at ahn bora because she's directly in his eyesight. the first thing that comes to her mind is BYUNTAE! and boy does she scream that word. taejin's face screws up because all these girls are screaming now and pointing and bora keeps calling him a ert, so he runs away. for almost a year bora calls him this everytime she sees him.

their first official meeting is a potions detention with professor jaejin (who leaves them alone to finish work), in their fifth year. it takes an entire year before they actually speak to each other like normal human beings. they both sit there in stony silence for an entire twenty minutes before taejin sighs for like, the umpth time, and bora swings around on her chair and snaps at him to shut up. her face is all screwed up in that prune-face he always sees on her and taejin can't help it - he laughs, loudly, and bora is utterly speechless (her face quickly goes red). once he's finished laughing he apologies and says "sorry, it's just... well. you look cute when you scowl." and that flippant comment sends bora into a sort-of crazy, flustered mess where she basically just splutters and breathes heavily and huffs and crosses her arms. another five minutes of silence and taejin breaks it with conversation. bora doesn't say much, pretending not to listen, but that comment is still fresh in her mind (and even three years later he still says her scowl is cute).

RELATIONSHIP — she shouts out "hey look everyone, it's that gross byuntae!" in corridors and he seethes silently, his face growing so red minjae often calls him a tomato. they bicker and argue over quidditch, over blood status, over food, over clothes, over anything so long as they're close to each other and raging. they think it's hate at first but really it's actually tension because bora likes taejin and somehow this crush has escalated into this mess where she displays her "feelings" by being a total . when people see them arguing they just ignore them because it's so routine now.

she doesn't like taejin at first as she thinks he's so carefree and happy and bubbly and doesn't have any problems, but as they grow closer after all the bickering and arguing, she realises that he too is struggling with his own issues, like overcoming his anxiety and trying to prove he's good enough to play quidditch as a career. though bora doesn't want to do it as a career, she completely understands that need to prove her worth, even if it's just to herself. however, she fights these feelings towards taejin like a wild cat - she's so damn scared her parents will disown her for falling for a halfblood, especially one who is so ingrained in muggle-life, that she pretends he means nothing to her for a long time. 

in their 6th year things get even more complicated as taejin gets a girlfriend and bora hides her feelings even more, going so far as kissing soohyuk in a desperate bid to feel something and not be ashamed by those feelings. though taejin has a girlfriend, he still spends most of his time on the pitch and revising plays and hanging out with rowoon. he also argues even more with bora, though he doesn't realise this is mostly because she's the only girl who can make him feel so damn hot (naively thinking he's angry..), so he gets dumped after a few months and he beats himself up over it, and who should find him? bora of course. she listens as he spills his guts about how bad he feels and how he gets so consumed by quidditch because it's the only thing he's ever felt so passionate about and how he forgot about the girl and how stupid he is. bora just stares at him because wow he's not just a dumb meathead, he does have problems and they're real. so she spills her own problems with feeling inadequate to her parents and stressing that whatever she does they'll never approve and starts to cry despite herself. it's a raw moment for them both and after this they part ways and don't speak for weeks.

taejin wins the cup for girim and sees bora in the crowd, having knocked wideok out a few weeks ago. she gives him a very small, almost not-yet there smile, and his heart skips. he has that oh moment just before he's enveloped in a massive dog-pile of bodies.

when he kisses her in 7th year every worry melts into a puddle on the floor and the tension and paranoia she's been carrying for so long disaperates almost instantly. bora has liked taejin for a long time (even back then when she made up his infamous nickname byuntae... and yes even before he got handsome) that she basically shoves him into a wall and kisses him madly, finally free from this burden.

CONCLUSION — after the kiss they both agree that they can't keep hiding their feelings much longer and taejin almost begs her to consider him. he says he'll meet her parents and do anything they ask, because he's never felt like this towards someone before, and it almost feels like falling in love with quidditch all lover again. bora is super tough to crack, but taejin does have the cutest smile and a knack for persuading people to do things, so eventually she agrees, though she says that she'll need to ware them down first, informing him that they expect her to be with soohyuk, not a halfblood. 

it takes a very long for her parents to accept this bumbling fool as bora's boyfriend, but they do, eventually, come to terms with it, though begrudgingly. their daughters happiness means more to them than the bloodline (bora is so ing relieved when they say this) and she tells them she wants to study magical medicine too, finally feeling that bravery she's been lacking for so long. 

it's a happy ending for now, though taejin still isn't a star quidditch player, but at least he's got the girl!
