smthn that saddens me, as an author of particular fics

 

you know those polls i put up last blog post?

it got me into thinking smthn.

when you have a story that got really popular, it... eventually becomes you.

becomes the representative of you.

take the first poll, for example. i asked you guys, what do you think i do best, or angst? then, i had jokingly put "crazy plots with crazy characters" as an option. i didn't think much of it at the time, but...

it ended up winning the poll......

see, the thing is. i only have one story that actually has crazy plots with crazy characters? and that story, as i'm sure 99% of y'all know, is the Love Dealer series.

yeah. ONE story. out of the almost twenty stories i have on aff.

it just made me wonder like, is that all i'm good for? what about the other stories i've written, then? NRSB or Destinare or FD or whatever certainly didn't have crazy plots with crazy characters in them... (shhh no one talks about kai in destinare >.>). does this mean, i don't do those other stories best?

idk. i guess i just feel sorta sad... i write angst, and i write (i even write fluff lmao. despite how hard it is for me ;;;), and yet. what most people think i do best in is smthn that only exists in one story of mine, against many others?

am i going to only be known as, "that crazy author that wrote that even crazier story called Love Dealer and its sequels"?

has LD/K/R gotten too big that's all readers associate me with now? they don't think of my other fics? even tho i poured so much time and energy into them, too?

idk :-(

 

a;fjasl;a this might sound like an ungrateful rant bcuz i should be happy at all that readers love the LD series so much, but... pls give love to my other stories, too T.T and remember that i write more than just crazy plots with crazy characters T.T

i also write angst. and . and sometimes even fluff stories like Sugar Rush despite how much i complain while writing it lol ;;

 

sorry this blog is sorta just whining at almost 7am in the morning orz. i have a dentist appt in 5 hours and i haven't slept all night... fml. buuut i did almost finish the next chapter of destinare, so with any luck you guys can expect a destinare update tomorrow (finally)! :D

also i'll post a new blog soon talking about some new fic ideas i've had that i will write as my new, upcoming story ^^ that blog should be more interesting and less boring than this vomit of whining haha.. >__>;;

I read ALL of your stuff! NRSB is a personal favorite. LD was good, but does NOT define you..and it was how I found you! SR is just OMO! It picks me up after a bad day. Don't let that poll get you down. My advice..don't ever ask that kind of thing. Often times, you may not get a response you are happy with. Just do what you do, write what you want and damn opinion polls. You have NOTHING to be anxious about.

I just wanted you to know that I love many of your fics. No Regrets Shine Bright is one of my fav fics of all time!! So don't worry too much. Think of movies, blockbusters that make the most money. They aren't always the best movies. Sometimes the best movies don't get much recognition but the people who appreciate them love them deeply. I think it's the same for fanfics.

Lol for me I voted for cuz the first fic of yours that I read was love dealer and the first three chapters was HAWT.
Then I read NRSB and it was angst goddammit I was crying

It's ok author-nim! I love all of your stories even without all the plot twists and craziness (it gives my heart a break from lk XD) so don't worry about it too much ^^ many of the people who took the poll were probably also jokingly selecting crazy plots with crazy characters :)

Girl you don't have to be sad over that ~ I myself vote you as 'you are best at angst story ' cause angst is the first time I knew you , the first story I had read from you (NRSB) so I basically love all your stories ~ even the angsty one and I'm not good with angst but because it's you who write those I decided to read it too ~ :) and remember when I said that I can't choose which one you best ? Cause for me you are best with everything, you are best with what you do and write, it's bascically you are best ~ ;D
And I appreciate all of your stories even tho there are some of your stories that I didn't read (the ones with bts) it's not because that ones bad but I just didn't read others group lol (sorry tho)
I hope you won't be sad again after read this cause I made this sincerly lmao (my expectation is too high) xD

i love when you write fluff +angst more!. like NRSB!. i ve said it a plenty of times. i am saying it again it's my fav fic . i always come back to read it again n again!.
i love all your stories tbh. you are good at writing all genre. trust me when i say this you could pull of anything.
Not many can write stories like love dealer. it's amazing how you always manage to make readers on edge with every update. i think the only reason it won the poll is coz as i said not many can pull off such genre. but you did amazing. and we have lots of fluff writers i guess.
but iam still hoping for a story like NSRB! i love it soo much you have no idea.

I don't know if this would make you feel better, but I actually didn't know about the Love Dealer series until now (although I'm interested in reading it now haha). But the point is, I actually associate you with other stories, like your angst fic No Regrets (Shine Bright) and your fluff story Sugar Rush. I just want to tell let you know that one fanfictioin does not entirely define who you are as an author. (^: Sure, it may be a part of your identity (because you are the author, after all), but many of your readers also admire & appreciate your other works. Wishing you the best <3

We like all of your fics and the poll jus meant we love that winning fic little bit more than others. Not that you failed to write other fics or anything. Don't feel that way authornim! You are talented and Im jus potato who can't write an essay hahaha xD Love you and love your fics <3

Well i meet by NRSB not by LD i love every story u write i can't fav one of them it true that LD series make me excited but i get excited with evey other story also so thank you for u always hard work and no u are not justthat crazy author that wrote that even crazier story called Love Dealer and its sequels"? LOL dw all your fics are equally loved by me, maybe ppl just think of the love dealer series first bc it's traumatizing hahah the rest of your fics are memorable as well, I'm just saying that particular series might just be on the forefront of their minds more often
